The widespread use of laparoscopy in daily urology practice is increasing. The laparoscopic surgery has some advantages about bleeding, short hospitalization and smaller insicion when comparing open surgery. In this study, I aimed to evaluate the patients who were treated with laparoscopic surgery in Corum Training and Research Hospital. The patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery between May 2013 and January 2015 were evaluated retrospectively. The patients age, operation time, bleeding, peroperative and postoperatice complications were recorded. Monopolar and ultrasonic energy devices were used. All of the patients used antiembolic sock and low molecul weight heparine was performed on postoperative period. There were 25 patients in this study. 17 and 8 of these patients were male and female. The median age of the patients was 53±14.01 year and operation time was 101.4±79.3 minutes. Two patients needed blood transfusion on post operative period. Drain tube was used for 9 patients. Two of these patients had renal cyst. Bleeding and noromuscular pain were the complications of the operation on postoperative period. Laparoscopic surgery has more advantages about hospital stay, need of analgesia and smaller incisions when compared open surgery. After the basic urology education, laparoscopy can be performed by young urologists. [Med-Science 2016; 5(2.000): 393-402

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy is the standart treatment for large, multiple renal Stones. Although this surgical technique was defined in 1979, the overall complication rate is approximetely 83%. The complications are divided into 2 groups; major and minor. Pain, fever, urinary tract infection and renal colic are minor complications. Septicemia and severe hemorrhage requiring blood transfusion are the most common major complications. Urinoma is one of the uncommon complication of percutaneous nephrolithotomy with an incidence of 0.1%. We report a case of retroperitoneal urinoma after percutan renal surgery. The simple nephrectomy is usually performed in daily urology practice for the non-functioning kidney. The aim of this study is to determine the incidental malignancy rate of the patients who underwent nephrectomy procedure. In total, 258 patients were included in the study. The patients who underwent simple nephrectomy and diagnosed as renal tumor between January 2003 and March 2016 for the non-functioning kidney at our department were recorded. There were 258 patients in this study. Of these patients;123 were male and 134 were female patients. The mean age of the patients was 52.33+17.63 years. The presence of stone formation was detected in 92 patients (35.65%). The renal malignancy was reported in 9 patients.Among the patients with malignancy; 2 patients were female and 7 patients were male. The mean age of the patients was 54.77+8.81 years. The pathological examination revealed that 6 patients were transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the renal pelvis, 2 patients were renal cell carcinoma, one patient was cystic nephroma. Interestingly, nephrolithiasis was detected only in one patient. The prevalence of all malignancy and the malignant tumor was 3.48% and 3.10% in this study. The final pathology showed that there is a risk of malignancy fort he patients with the non-functioning kidney. The clinicians should be aware that the patient may be diagnosed as renal tumor after pathological examination. [Med-Science 2018; 7(2.000): 247-8

ABSTRACT Aim: Investigation of the erectile functions in partners of women with urinary incontinence problems. Materials and Methods: Sexually active female patients over the age of 18 years with complaints of urinary incontinence (n=30) (Group-1), and without urinary incontinence (n=30) (Group-2, controls) were included this study. Evaluation of the patients were done at Erzincan Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital's urology outpatient clinic between June 2012 and January 2013. Partners of group-1 and group-2 were asked to fill in the 5-item International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire, and then the scores of the two groups were compared for statistically significant differences. Results: Among the partners of the group-1 patients, 15 (50%) had mild erectile dysfunction (ED), 11 (36.6%) had moderate ED, 1 (3.4%) had severe ED, and erectile function was normal in the remaining 3 (10%). Among the partners of group-2 patients, 15 (50%) had mild ED, 7 had moderate ED, 1 (3.4%) had severe ED, and 7 (23.3%) had normal erectile function. Compared to the spouses of group-2 patients, ED was more prevalent among the spouses of group-1 patients. Conclusion: Erectile function in the partners of women with urinary incontinence may be adversely affected by the UI of their partners
