The Sine Transform of Isotropic Measures
Sharp isoperimetric inequalities for the sine transform of even isotropic
measures are established. The corresponding reverse inequalities are obtained
in an asymptotically optimal form. These new inequalities have direct
applications to strong volume estimates for convex bodies from data about their
sections or projections
Redundancy approaches in bubble domain memories
Fabrication of integrated circuit chips to compensate for faulty memory elements is discussed. Procedure for testing chips to determine extent of redundancy and faults is described. Mathematical model to define operation is presented. Schematic circuit diagram of test equipment is provided
A characterization of Blaschke addition
A characterization of Blaschke addition as a map between origin-symmetric
convex bodies is established. This results from a new characterization of
Minkowski addition as a map between origin-symmetric zonoids, combined with the
use of L\'{e}vy-Prokhorov metrics. A full set of examples is provided that show
the results are in a sense the best possible
