    Sporenelementen I. Coordinatie-complexen

    No full text
The importance of the trace elements in nature is discussed on the basis of its ability to form coordination compds. Topics relevant to the problem are discussed in the following sequence: chem. bonds, mol. orbitals, p-bonding in complex compds., chelates, and catalysis. Two examples of catalysis, in which the coordination compds. act as catalysts, are given: the oxidn. of C2H4 to CH3CHO using PdCl2 and CuCl2 or FeCl3 in H2O as the catalyst, and the hydrogenation of dienes employing Co(CN)53-ion as the catalyst. Catalytic oxidation over inorganic oxides as catalysts

    No full text
The kinetics and proposed models of catalysis are reviewed with 48 refs. The Matsuura model for Bi2MoO6 catalysts is discussed critically. Two general criteria based on crystal chem. and the spatial arrangement of site clusters are offered to better define the necessary elements for selective catalysis. [on SciFinder (R)

    J. H. de Boer and heterogene catalyse

What makes an oxidation catalyst a selective catalyst

    No full text
A review with 42 refs on the oxidn. of olefins over oxide catalysts. Topics are the Bi2O3-MoO3 catalyst, single oxides as catalysts, reoxidn. of partly reduced oxides, comparison of the activities of various molybdates, double-bond isomerization, org. chemistry of the oxidn., the active site.
