Thermal equilibrium states for quantum fields on non-commutative spacetimes

Fully Poincar\'e covariant quantum field theories on non-commutative Moyal Minkowski spacetime so far have been considered in their vacuum representations, i.e. at zero temperature. Here we report on work in progress regarding their thermal representations, corresponding to physical states at non-zero temperature, which turn out to be markedly different from both, thermal representations of quantum field theory on commutative Minkowski spacetime, and such representations of non-covariant quantum field theory on Moyal Minkowski space with a fixed deformation matrix.Comment: 20 pages. Laboratory rotational ground state transitions of NH3_3D+^+ and CF+^+

Aims. This paper reports accurate laboratory frequencies of the rotational ground state transitions of two astronomically relevant molecular ions, NH3D+ and CF+. Methods. Spectra in the millimeter-wave band were recorded by the method of rotational state-selective attachment of He-atoms to the molecular ions stored and cooled in a cryogenic ion trap held at 4 K. The lowest rotational transition in the A state (ortho state) of NH$_3$D$^+$ ($J_K = 1_0 - 0_0$), and the two hyperfine components of the ground state transition of CF$^+$($J = 1 - 0$) were measured with a relative precision better than $10^{-7}$. Results. For both target ions the experimental transition frequencies agree with recent observations of the same lines in different astronomical environments. In the case of NH$_3$D$^+$ the high-accuracy laboratory measurements lend support to its tentative identification in the interstellar medium. For CF$^+$ the experimentally determined hyperfine splitting confirms previous quantum-chemical calculations and the intrinsic spectroscopic nature of a double-peaked line profile observed in the $J = 1 - 0$ transition towards the Horsehead PDR.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure

Ifosfamide with regional hyperthermia in soft-tissue sarcomas

For high-risk soft tissue sarcomas (HR-STS) of adults, new treatment strategies are needed to improve outcome with regard to local control and overall survival. Therefore, systemic chemotherapy has been integrated either after (adjuvant) or before (neoadjuvant) optimal local treatment by surgery and radiotherapy in HR-STS. Questionner la question ethnique : lecture historique et politique des appartenances culturelles au Laos

International audienceLe Laos, pays d'environ six millions d'habitants, se caractérise par sa déroutante complexité ethnique : on y compte officiellement 49 groupes ethniques. Le groupe majoritaire, les Lao, ne représente qu'un peu plus de la moitié de la population 1 alors que les locuteurs de langue lao seraient environ dix fois plus nombreux en Thaïlande. Il s'agit donc d'une situation étrange, où la population dominante du pays se trouve majoritairement hors des frontières et où les groupes minoritaires, pris ensemble, for-ment presque la majorité. Quelles sont ces ethnies, comment comprendre l'existence d'une telle diversité de populations, comment cohabitent-elles et comment l'État gère-t-il cette diversité ? Ce sont quelques-unes des questions que nous voudrions brièvement aborder, en nous aidant de la littérature existante mais orienté par nos propres recherches de terrain 2. Quoi que ce travail de synthèse puisse offrir une vue d'ensemble destinée aux non spécialistes du pays, son originalité se trouve moins dans les données présentées que dans l'échelle spatiale et temporelle par laquelle elles sont abordées : une perspective comparatiste, qui prend en considération l'ensemble des groupes du pays, sur le temps long. Ce passage à l'échelle macro, tant au niveau spatial que temporel, permet de questionner l'ethnicité, entendue ici aux sens de ce qui forme et maintient l'appartenance ethnique. L'ethnicité sera donc ici approchée, * Grégoire Schlemmer est ethnologue à l'Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD, UMR URMIS, Migrations et Société, université Paris Diderot). Ses travaux portent sur l'or-ganisation sociale et religieuse et les questions d'ethnicité parmi des populations des marges montagneuses du monde sino-indien à partir de deux terrains d'étude : les Kulung Rai (Népal) et la province de Phongsaly (Laos)
