With the amendment of the Law on the primacy of renewable energy the legislature has
introduced new tools for a better market and network integration of green electricity. The
aim of this paper is to review on basis of model calculation how the law changes influences
the profitability of electricity production from biogas plants and thus the investment decisions
of plant operators and its sponsors. The focus of attention is on the generation of
electricity from biogas because these renewable energy installations should be given a pioneering
role in the supply-side load balancing with the introduction of market- and flexibility
premium.
In the first theoretical step of study the tools of direct marketing as well as its position in
the overall remuneration Legal context will be illuminated. In order to understand the investment
accounts and its explanation that was made in this work in the second step is an
explanation of the parameters used instead. With the investment analysis models for five
selected biogas plants the effects of compensation according to cost splitting and direct
marketing are compared.
As a major result of this work it should be noted that due to the large number of different
factors on both the in-and output side a general statement on the economics of biogas
plants cannot be made. In particular the lack of knowledge about future peak-and base-load
price differences on the power exchange is a major element of uncertainty for the plant
operators. Subject to the assumptions underlying this work it has been shown that mainly
plants in a power range from 150 to 500 kW become accepted on the market in the future

Recording of Kossel patterns using monochromatic synchrotron radiation
First results of Kossel measurements using monochromatic synchrotron radiation at the beam line F1 at the synchrotron source HASYLAB/DESY are presented. Methodical aspects of the application of the Kossel technique to specimens sensitive to particle irradiation or covered by layers were surveyed. Furthermore the influence of the selective excitation of characteristic radiation on the background reduction in the case of compound crystals was investigated. Both the excitation of Kossel interferences of a glass covered cuprite sample and an irradiation sensitive synthetic chalcanthite crystal as well as the selective excitation of Ga Kα radiation of a GaAs single crystal were demonstrated. In all cases Kossel photographs rich in contrast could be obtained
