Reanalyzing Chisholm Paradox. Structural Insights
In this paper I focus on the conditions that have to be met for Chisholmâs
Paradox (CP) to occur. My claim is that identity and structure are notions closely
related to each other. I propose a discussion in which the minimal framework for CP
is set, then analyze the paradox in terms of S5, and suggest that in order to capture the
core of the paradox one should use a dynamic valuation function for the model.
Identity appears, at this point, to be dependent upon a structuralist point of vie
Hydrodynamic scaling limit of continuum solid-on-solid model
A fourth-order nonlinear evolution equation is derived from a microscopic
model for surface diffusion, namely, the continuum solid-on-solid model. We use
the method developed by Varadhan for the computation of hydrodynamic scaling
limit of nongradient models. What distinguishes our model from other models
discussed so far is the presence of two conservation laws for the dynamics in a
nonperiodic box and the complex dynamics that is not nearest-neighbor. Along
the way, a few steps has to be adapted to our new context. As a byproduct of
our main result we also derive the hydrodynamic scaling limit of a perturbation
of continuum solid-on-solid model, a model that incorporates both surface
diffusion and surface electromigration
Grounds and Structural Realism: A Possible Metaphysical Framework
This article discusses the proposal of accommodating grounding theories and structural realism, with the aim to provide a metaphysical framework for structural realism. Ontic structural realism, one of the most accepted metaphysical versions for structural realism, is taken into account here, with the intention of analyzing the framework in which GT and OSR are compatible, and to what extent
SIGNCRYPTION ANALYZE
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview for the research that has been done so far in signcryption area. The paper also presents the extensions for the signcryption scheme and discusses the security in signcryption. The main contribution to this paper represents the implementation of the signcryption algorithm with the examples provided.ElGamal, elliptic curves, encryption, identity-based, proxy-signcryption, public key, ring-signcryption, RSA, signcryption
National Bank of Romania Management in Time of Financial Crisis
According to the objectives pursued in preparing Romania's accession to the European Union (E.U), the National Bank of Romania (N.B.R.) acted in line with Romania's constant efforts aiming to adapt - institutionally, structurally and operationally - the Romanian economy to the E.U. requirements. The E.U. requirements on financial crisis management ask for an agreement of co-operation between all national financial supervisors, central bank and finance ministry. The current financial and economic crisis started at the end of 2008 and appears to be unprecedented in the last century. For 2009, N.B.R. tried to stay consequent in its economic growth projection bringing the following arguments: âą lower ratio of exports to Gross Domestic Product (G.D.P.); âą lower level of financial intermediation; âą the fact that Romania has a nearly balanced energy balance; âą exchange rate flexibility; âą large volume of structural funds which may be attracted to Romania.management, finance, bank sector, economic crisis.
On a global aerodynamic optimization of a civil transport aircraft
An aerodynamic optimization procedure developed to minimize the drag to lift ratio of an aircraft configuration: wing - body - tail, in accordance with engineering restrictions, is described. An algorithm developed to search a hypersurface with 18 dimensions, which define an aircraft configuration, is discussed. The results, when considered from the aerodynamic point of view, indicate the optimal configuration is one that combines a lifting fuselage with a canard
Econometric Analysis Of Efficiency In The Indian Manufacturing Sector
Performance in the manufacturing sector, in relation to productivity growth, scale efficiency and technical efficiency in India is dichotomous in nature, depending on whether the firm in question functions in the formal or informal sector. The main differences between these two sectors and the changes over a decade are observed and analyzed, using aggregated data for the entire manufacturing sector in India. Using stochastic frontier approach, and therein the maximum likelihood models, efficiency in the two sectors is compared and verified against factors affecting the levels of efficiency obtained for each major industry category. The results are analyzed against realities on ground-level from a socio-economic perspective.manufacturing, formal, informal, organized, unorganized, returns to scale, technical efficiency, cross-sectional data, maximum likelihood estimation, efficiency gap, India, industries

Reverse Political Coattails under a Technocratic Government: New Evidence on the National Electoral Benefits of Local Party Incumbency
Does the control of local offices benefit parties in national elections when local incumbents are not strategically supported by the central government? To address this question, I study the national electoral effects of local party incumbency in the context of a technocratic central government instituted following an unexpected tragic event that forced the resignation of the previous government. Using a regression discontinuity method applied to mayoral races in Romania, I document that the control of local offices causally generated significant vote share premia in the 2016 parliamentary ballot - estimated at 10-11 percentage points, or roughly one fourth of the dependent variableâs mean. My results show that the affiliation of local incumbents can be consequential for parliamentary power absent a contemporaneous party alignment linking local and central governmental forces
REMUNERATION PAYABLE TO PERFORMERS FOR THE BROADCASTING OF PHONOGRAMS. TYPES OF PHONOGRAMS
The institution of copyright and related rights, as regulated in our system by Law nr.8/1996, deals with the protection of literary, artistic and scientific works and their creators. By a definition that has a tradition in our doctrine, the legal institution of copyright (generally speaking) means all the legal rules governing social relations that arise from the creation, publication and use of literary, artistic or scientific works. The moral and patrimonial rights of the author and neighboring rights stakeholders are protected both by the special law, mentioned above, and also by the common law provisions. Among them is included the Decree no.31/1954 concerning individuals and legal entities but also the Civil Code. One argued problem during the arbitrations, which take place at ORDA headquarters, institution that provides the Secretariat, also in the courts of law, when setting claims was promoted by Collecting Societies against bad payers users, was to analyze the two phrases commercial phonograms and phonograms published for commercial purposes
