Time synchronization via the transit satellite at Mizusawa

    Get PDF
Time signals emitted from Transit satellites and received by the NAVICODE type receiver at Mizusawa, Japan are presented. The International Latitude Observatory of Mizusawa and the U. S. Naval Observatory were compared using the time signals. Propagation delays, a receiver delay, effects of relative motion of satellites, and effects of the ionosphere are discussed

Formation of cosmological mass condensation within a FRW universe: exact general relativistic solutions

Within the framework of an exact general relativistic formulation of gluing manifolds, we consider the problem of matching an inhomogeneous overdense region to a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker background universe in the general spherical symmetric case of pressure-free models. It is shown that, in general, the matching is only possible through a thin shell, a fact ignored in the literature. In addition to this, in subhorizon cases where the matching is possible, an intermediate underdense region will necessarily arise.Comment: 6 page

    Direct Observation of Non-Monotonic dx2-y2-Wave Superconducting Gap in Electron-Doped High-Tc Superconductor Pr0.89LaCe0.11CuO4

We performed high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on electron-doped high-Tc superconductor Pr0.89LaCe0.11CuO4 to study the anisotropy of the superconducting gap. The observed momentum dependence is basically consistent with the dx2-y2-wave symmetry, but obviously deviates from the monotonic dx2-y2 gap function. The maximum gap is observed not at the zone boundary, but at the hot spot where the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation strongly couples to the electrons on the Fermi surface. The present experimental results unambiguously indicate the spin-mediated pairing mechanism in electron-doped high-Tc superconductors.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
