Binge Eating Pattern Among School Students
Binge eating disorder is when a person eats an excessive amount of food, losing control over what and how much is eaten, followed by feelings of guilt, shame or disgust. Factors like stress, food restriction, presence of palatable foods and environmental conditioning may also lead to binge in individuals. Early assessment and more extensive and suitable treatment may prevent more severe disorders. The main aim of this survey was to analyze binge-eating patterns among school students.Questionnaire was prepared and administered to 102 participants through a survey planet – an online survey. The study participants were people of age between 13-17. Data was collected from the link and was represented in the pie chart form. 31.2% binge eat more than 3 times a day, 32.3% binge eat more than 5 times a day, 19.4% binge eat more than 7 times a day. Stress, depression, negative feelings are some of the reasons, which influences binge eating, which is very common among school students. 48% consume more than normal level of calorie a day, 37.8% consume normal level of calorie, 13.3% consume less than normal level of calorie per day. Consumption of spicy food and junk food is also related to binge eating. Individuals with binge eating disorder experience impaired functioning in both social life and at home. From the survey, it was evident that binge eating is common among school students as the majority (32.3%) of them eat more than 5 times a day for which depression and hunger is the major cause
Learning Difficulties Among Dental Students- A Cross Sectional Study
Background: Learning difficulties also known as the learning disabilities are the conditions that
impact on an individual’s ability to gain knowledge and skills. The common problem faced by dental
students is learning subjects and doing practicals. Though many studies have been done on learning
disabilities, this study gives detailed information on the problems faced by dental students. The main
aim of this study is to create awareness on the difficulties faced by the dental students in learning the
subjects and in doing practicals. An online survey was conducted among dental students to evaluate
the learning difficulties. The study population are the 1st year dental students with a sample size of
100. 10 questions were circulated to the participants through an online survey link. Later the datas
was analysed and made into pie charts. From this study, when asked about learning difficulties, the
majority of the result shows that they have difficulty in learning that is nearly 75% and the rest felt
easier. Nearly half of the students who feel difficulty in learning are trying to overcome their
difficulty. From this survey, it was evident that most of the students have difficulty in learning
dentistry. This study creates awareness among the students about the benefits and importance of
overcoming the difficulty in learning
Survey On Traumatic Dental Injuries Among Children
Traumatic dental injuries are the most common problems and have the highest prevalence rate
among children. Dental trauma not only causes pain but also has the potential to adversely affect the
development of the permanent teeth. Tooth fractures or dental injuries to the deciduous teeth can
cause various problems in permanent teeth such as hypoplasia, discoloration, and delay in eruption
time, and tooth malformation. A self administered questionnaire was designed based on the
awareness of tooth fracture and dental trauma among the children and was distributed through an
online survey planet link. The study population was 100 . The collected data were plotted in the form
pie charts. The responses were plotted in the form of pie charts. In this study, the prevalence of
traumatic dental injuries was found to be 77.2% and only 50.6% of the children had been taken to a
dentist after the dental trauma. From this study it is evident that the majority of the children have
experienced dental trauma due to which they have low self confidence and face other kinds of
problems in their day to day life. Thus it is important for the parents to take them to a dentist
immediately after the trauma to avoid furthermore complications and infections.Saveetha Dental colleg
Awareness of Cyber Crime on Social Media
More and more people, in spite of age and gender, are signing up for profiles on online social networks for connecting with one another during this virtual world. Some people have many friends and followers spread across multiple profiles. But at the same time there is proliferation of fake profiles also. Fake profiles often spam the users like posting inappropriate or illegal content. Fake profiles are created while misrepresenting some known person to cause harassment to him/her.This is a cross sectional study conducted among the common people through a questionnaire with 10 questions. The sample was taken on common people. The sample size of the study wass 100 and the results were tabulated accordingly.From the response collected it is evident that there is no significant relationship among the public regarding cyber crime. People who are associated with the IT sector are well aware than the general public on Cyber Crime. The Independent variable such as age and gender was taken into consideration and the dependent variable such as awareness about the ransomware and cyber crime was put forward to the public.The best of our knowledge, none of the previous researchers have adopted this approach
Awareness Of Oral Hygiene Among Policemen in Mayiladuthurai
Oral health is inevitably important as that of general health. Besides, The Oral cavity is regarded as
‘The mirror’ of general health as the oral manifestations acts as a delegate of the body’s maladies. Oral
hygiene is the habit of maintaining the mouth and teeth clean to get rid of dental problems such as
dental caries, gingivitis, and Halitosis. Military (Armed forces, Air forces, Navy forces) and Policing
are few of the most challenging occupations. As continual work pressure and stress exists among the
police personnel in regulating the law and order, they tend to neglect their General health and also
oral health. The aim of the survey based study has been carried out to analyse the oral hygiene
practices followed by police personnel in Mayiladuthurai during their stressful lifestyle. This survey
consists of 100 policemen. 15 self-administered questionnaires were prepared in google forms and
distributed via online means. Descriptive statistics was carried out. Chi square analysis along with
correlation was done. The results were expressed in the form of pie charts and bar graphs. This study
concluded that there exists a moderate level of awareness regarding oral hygiene practices among the
policemen in Mayiladuthurai. Moreover, public healthcare programmes and demonstrations can be
held to establish furthermore knowledge about oral hygiene practices
Fruits And Vegetables Consumption Among Dental Students in Private Dental Colleges
The objective of this study was to assess the consumption of fruits and vegetables among dental
students. This is a cross sectional questionnaire survey conducted among dental students in various
private dental colleges. A convenience sampling method was used for the study. A total of
107students have responded to the survey. Participants have been randomly enrolled in the online
survey through a survey planet. A validated questionnaire consists of 20 closed ended and yes/ no
questions distributed to assess their consumption of fruits and vegetables in their regular life. The
responses have been taken and were analysed. The results were expressed as pie charts. 93.4% of the
participants said yes to liking for having fruits and 6.6% of them said no . The study concluded that
there is an optimum consumption of the fruits by the dental students and they were aware of the
benefits of including fruits in their diet
Oral Hygiene Practices Among Cricketers in Chennai
Oral hygiene refers to the practice of keeping the mouth, teeth and gums clean and healthy to prevent oral disease. Oral hygiene is often taken for granted but it is essential part of our daily life.Oral hygiene is the practice of maintaining a clean oral cavity to prevent dental diseases such as dental cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis and bad breath. A total of 150 cricketers were involved in the study . Self administered questionnaire related to the oral hygiene practices along with sociodemographic details was prepared and it was distributed through an online survey link. Based on hypotonic and isotonic content of the sports drink , the majority of the participants(58.7%) prefer isotonic sports drinks and the remaining participants( 41.3%) prefer Hypotonic .About 58% of participants eat chocolate regularly. 54.6% of participants agreed that dental erosion affects oral health . 56% of participants think oral health has an impact on sports performance. In the present study, the knowledge,attitude and practice of oral hygiene is moderate.For further improvement, awareness about maintaining good oral health should be created among the public. Erosion can be prevented by educating the subjects about the risks associated with carbonated drinks which is more common among sportsmen and young adults
Consumption Of Salt in The Food Among Dental Students - A Questionnaire Based Survey
Background: The aim of the study is to determine the amount of salt used in Saveetha dental college.
The relationship between dietary sodium (Na) intake and the prevalence of some diet-related diseases
has long been recognised Thus, reducing dietary sodium intake has become a public health priority
in several countries. Consequently, some governments have enacted policies aimed at reducing the
salt (NaCl) content of foods , as sodium levels are often increased by salt in food (1 g of NaCl = 400 mg
of Na). This survey was done to assess the knowledge and awareness on the consumption of salt in
the food among dental students..A convenient sample size of 100 consecutive adults, students and
staff from various departments of Saveetha dental college participated in this study. A cross sectional
observational online based study was conducted. Questionnaire was constructed on a survey planet
website with dichotomous responses and multiple choice questions. 44.3% of the respondents are
aware that increased salt consumption can lead to hypertension. 40% are aware that increased salt
consumption can lead to mental problems and 12.2% are aware that increased salt consumption can
lead to various cardiovascular diseases. 48.7% of the respondents are not aware of the effects of
preparation of meals with high content of salt, 31.3% of the respondents are aware and 20% of the
respondents prefer that meals with high salt content are very good for health. 62.6% of the
respondents are not happy with the food .The awareness of harmful effects of excessive salt

Prevalence of Mpds Vs Disc Disorders
The Temporomandibular joint acts like a sliding hinge, connecting the jawbone to the skull. A temporomandibular disorder can cause pain in the jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement. Some people who have jaw pain also tend to clench or grind the teeth called bruxism.
Injury to the jaw, the joint, or the muscles of the head and neck can lead to temporomandibular disorders. Stress, which causes tightening of facial and jaw muscles or clenching of teeth can also be one of the most common reasons for temporomandibular disorders.The aim of this study is to check the prevalence of Myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome and Disc Condyle disorders in patients suffering from Temporomandibular disorders. Data from 86000 patients visiting Saveetha Dental College during the time period of June 2019 to March 2020 were reviewed and the data was collected. The data was taken from the category - temporomandibular disorders. A total of 61 patients were taken and analysed for MPDS and Disc condyle disorders. The results were tabulated and analysed using SPSS software by IBM. Out of 61 patients, 57.4%of them had disc condyle disorder, 34.4% had MPDS, 3.3% of them had Degenerative disorder and 4.9% of the patients did not show any disorder. The prevalence of disc condyle disorder is much higher than myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome
