Modern software “ecosystems” are complex socio-technical systems which can be represented as a multilayer dynamic network. Many of these libraries and software packages are open-source and developed in the open on sites such as , so there is a large amount of data available about these networks. Studying these networks could be of interest to anyone choosing or designing a programming language. In this work, we use tensor factorisation to explore the dynamics of communities of software, and then compare these dynamics between languages on a dataset of approximately 1 million software projects. We hope to be able to inform the debate on software dependencies that has been recently re-ignited by the malicious takeover of the npm package and other incidents through giving a clearer picture of the structure of software dependency networks, and by exploring how the choices of language designers—for example, in the size of standard libraries, or the standards to which packages are held before admission to a language ecosystem is granted—may have shaped their language ecosystems. We establish that adjusted mutual information is a valid metric by which to assess the number of communities in a tensor decomposition and find that there are striking differences between the communities found across different software ecosystems and that communities do experience large and interpretable changes in activity over time. The differences between the elm and R software ecosystems, which see some communities decline over time, and the more conventional software ecosystems of Python, Java and JavaScript, which do not see many declining communities, are particularly marked.OAB’s work was supported as part of an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant, project reference EP/I028099/1.Published versio
The influence of the breed and age of boars on the occurrence of selected morphological defects of sperm in semen
W niniejszej pracy dokonano oceny wpływu rasy i wieku knura na wybrane wady
morfologiczne plemników. Wykazano istotny wpływ rasy i wariantu krzyżowania z którego pochodzi
In this work the influence of the breed and age of boars on selected defects of sperm
is estimated. It is shown that the breed and the variant of the crossing from which the boar comes,
as well as his age, have a significant impact on the percentage of occurrence of the basis morphological
defects of sperm in semen. It has been proved that Polish Large White breed boars
are characterised by the best sperm. The highest percentage of sperm with defects characterised
Pietrain boars aged 24–36 months, followed by Polish Landrace boars aged 24–36 months, and
those over 36 months
Wpływ rasy i wieku na libido knurów inseminacyjnych
The libido of a boar is a very important factor which determines the male’s suitability for
insemination. Before a breeder is included in the semen production cycle, its libido has to be estimated,
which may significantly contribute to the improvement of the organization of work in breeding
stations. Many factors influence a boar’s libido.Among others, it is the male’s age and breed. In
this work the influence of the breed and age on the sexual behaviour of boars is estimated, as well
as the phenotype correlations between a boar’s libido and the parameters of the semen are defined.
It has been proved that among the analysed breeds and hybrids the highest libido characterized PIC
hybrids, and hybrids such as: Pietrain x Duroc and Duroc x Pietrain, and among the pure breed boars
– Duroc breed. It has also been proved that the sexual activity of boars decreases with age. Significant
correlations between a boar’s libido and some features of the semen have been shown.
samca do inseminacji.
wiek i rasa.
Do określania libido knura w modelu statystycznym uwzględniono następujące
cechy: czas od momentu wprowadzenia knura do pomieszczenia z fantomem do wykonania
skoku, czas od momentu wprowadzenia knura do rozpoczęcia ejakulacji, całkowity
czas od momentu wprowadzenia knura do chwili zejścia z fantomu. Stwierdzono, że najwyższym
libido spośród badanych ras i mieszańców charakteryzowały się knury – hybrydy PIC
oraz mieszańce: pietrain x duroc i duroc x pietrain, a z osobników czystorasowych knury rasy
duroc. Wykazano
istotne korelacje pomiędzy libido knura i niektórymi cechami nasienia
Bioinformatics Study of Structural Patterns in Plant MicroRNA Precursors
According to the RNA world theory, RNAs which stored genetic information and catalyzed chemical reactions had their contribution in the formation of current living organisms. In recent years, researchers studied this molecule diversity, i.a. focusing on small non-coding regulatory RNAs. Among them, of particular interest is evolutionarily ancient, 19–24 nt molecule of microRNA (miRNA). It has been already recognized as a regulator of gene expression in eukaryotes. In plants, miRNA plays a key role in the response to stress conditions and it participates in the process of growth and development. MicroRNAs originate from primary transcripts (pri-miRNA) encoded in the nuclear genome. They are processed from single-stranded stem-loop RNA precursors containing hairpin structures. While the mechanism of mature miRNA production in animals is better understood, its biogenesis in plants remains less clear. Herein, we present the results of bioinformatics analysis aimed at discovering how plant microRNAs are recognized within their precursors (pre-miRNAs). The study has been focused on sequential and structural motif identification in the neighbourhood of microRNA
Characterisation of the specific surface area of arable soils of Poland

Analizie poddano dwa poziomy glebowe orny i podorny Powierzchnię właściwą wyznaczano w oparciu o adsorpcję pary wodnej i niskotemperaturową adsorpcję azotu.Research on the specific surface area of main mineral arable Polish soils was made. Two soil hirizons surface and subsurface were examined with water vapour and nitrogen adsorption
Spatial characterisation of specific surface area of arable soils in Poland
Ponadto, poprzez wzajemne zależności pomiędzy wielkością różnych rodzajów powierzchni właściwej (całkowitej, zewnętrznej, wewnętrznej, między pakietowej) a zawartością poszczególnych minerałów ilastych, frakcji granulometrycznych i związków próchnicznych w glebach, powierzchnię właściwą można wykorzystać do łącznej interpretacji zjawisk i procesów kształtujących możliwości produkcyjne gleb i stan środowiska przyrodniczego.
Kartograficzne przedstawienie powierzchni właściwej gleb uzasadnia włączanie jej do tworzenia przestrzennych hydrofizycznych i żyznościowych modeli prognostycznych procesów zachodzących w środowisku glebowym.Specific surface area is an important feature of soil. It characterize both quantity and qualityof mineral and organic soil components and also their physical and physicochemical properties. These properties treated separately do no give such exact information about the state of the soil as specific soil surface area.
Moreover, the knowledge of different kinds of specific surface area (total, external internal) and their relations to clay content, texture and humus composition in soil allow us for joint interpretation of phenomena and processes affecting productive properties of soil and natural environment.
Cartography of specific surface area of soils gives possibility to include it to creation spatial hydrophysical and fertile prognostic models of soil processes
