The purpose of this study is to research the effect of the eight week calisthenics exercise, applied to sedentary males, on some liver enzymes. 20 volunteer males, the age average of whom is 29,40 ±3, 47 years and height average of whom is 177,45±4, 89 cm, participated in the research. The body weight, fat percentage and fasting blood sample were taken by the expert persons in the suitable laboratory environment in the healthcare institutions, determined, before and after the application of the exercise program. SPSS 22. 0 package program was used for analyzing the data obtained and independent groups test (Wilcoxon Test) was applied for comparing the descriptive statistics and the values before and after the exercise. As a result of the findings we obtained, it was found out that there is a significant difference between the blood lipids, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, and total cholesterol levels before and after the calisthenics exercise program applied (p > 0. 05). Similarly, it was determined that there is also a significant change between the pre-test-post-test liver enzyme values (AST, ALT) (p > 0. 05).In conclusion, it is understood that the calisthenics exercise program, we applied, provides a significant and efficient change on sedentary males physiologically from the results of the study. Starting from these findings, not needing upper level materials for applying the calisthenics exercises suggests that it is efficient to guide the sedentary males to exercise. At the same time, this exercise program being easily applicable home is important because it is thought that obtaining a healthy body mass index can also protect from cardiovascular diseases, caused by sedentary life style and the risk factors causing these diseases

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the obesity levels of the individuals living in Van in terms of some variables. Methods: A total of 1000 people participated in the survey, with 399 women and 601 men with a mean age of 35.89 ± 8.60. The results obtained from the study were analyzed with the SPSS 20.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, the t test and the One Way Anova test were applied to determine the difference between the groups. Results: As a result of the analyzes, % 3.5 of the participants were weak, 60.1% were normal weight, 28.3% were overweight, % 6.5 were 1. degree obese,  % 1.3 II the grade is obese and % 0.3 is III. degree obese. The grade was determined to be obese. There was a statistically significant difference between the BMI values of the participants and regular sporting, gender and marital status (p <0.01). However, a significant difference was observed when body weight, gender and marital status were examined (p <0,01). On the other hand, there was no significant difference between body weight and regular sport (p> 0,05).Conclusions: As a result, it was determined that % 28.3 of the participants were overweight and 8.1% obese. Regular sporting can have a positive effect on BMI.   Article visualizations

The aim of this study is to review the effect of 8-week plyometric exercises on vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up, balance and sprint performances of male basketball players aged 10-14. The study includes 38 basketball players aged 10-14. Basketball players are divided into two groups as experimental group (n=19) and control group (n=19). Experimental group underwent plyometric exercises three days a week for eight weeks along with their regular basketball exercises. Control group only continued their regular basketball exercises. A week before the study and also after the study, vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up, balance and 30 m sprint run test measurements have been taken from both groups. For data analysis, Paired Samples T test and Independent Samples T test were used. As a result, among the pretest and posttest measurements, it is seen that regarding vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up and balance test, there is significance (p<0.05) in favor of experimental group. When the pretest and posttest of experimental group are compared, statistical significance is seen (p<0.05) in terms of vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up and balance measurements. No statistical significance is seen (p>0.05) between the pretest and posttest values of the control group in terms of vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up, balance and 30 m sprint. It can be reckoned that 8 weeks of plyometric exercises applied to male basketball players aged 10-14 have positive effects on vertical jump, flexibility, hand grasping force, sit-up, push-up and balance performances.  Article visualizations

The aim of this study is to assess the effect of tennis technique training and games on reaction times of 10-12 years old boys. For this study, 40 subjects who did not perform any physical activity volunteered. Subjects randomly assigned two groups: Experimental group: 20, control group: 20. The experimental group was subjected to 8 week three days a week and 60 minute per session tennis and education with games training program modified according to relevant age group. The control group did not participate any physical activity. Visual, auditory and mix reaction times were measured by Newtest 1000 reaction timer. Subjects’ reaction times were measured twice before and after training program. SPSS 22.0 package program was used for analysis of the data obtained from the study. Independent Sample T test was used for comparison between groups, and paired samples t test was analyzed at p <0.05 significance level. As a result of the study, there was no difference in the control group, and after eight weeks of tenement-specific games and technical training, the research group revealed significant changes between auditory, visual and mixed reaction times in both hands.  Article visualizations
