Water availability is a major factor limiting the production rate of oil palm plantations. Availability of water for palm oil plants in the field is obtained from rainfall. The research was conducted at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V Tandun Estate, Riau Province, for three months starting in June until August 2016. This study uses secondary data available on the administration of the garden. Secondary data for analysis include TBS monthly production data for 5 years (2011-2015), the data age of the plant 5, 10 and 20 years after planting, rainfall data and rainy day for 9 years (2007-2009). The analytical method used is analasis multiple linear regression and correlation models tested for feasibility with the classical assumption test including normality test, heteroscedasticity test and multicollinearity test. Regression analysis showed that variable rainfall and rainy days significantly affected on alpha 1% (Sig <Ī± 0,01) to FFB production at the age of 5 years. Results F-count of 29.07 with a significance value of 0.00. The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained 63.8%. This means that 63.8% of FFB production variations can be explained by the variation of the variables used and the remaining 36,2% is explained by the other variables not incorporated into the model. Regression analysis equation on a 5-year-old plant was Y = 414633.827 + 2530.523 X1 - X2 21848,726. Results of correlation analysis at 5 years old plants showed variable rainfall and rainy days have a very strong relationship. Correlation value of rainfall and rainy days and 0.720 - 0.543

The aim of this research was to investigate the ability of brown seaweed (Sargassum prismaticum) extract that can increase the activity of SOD and improvement of hepar tissue on rats Rattus norvegicus type 1 diabetes mellitus the results of multiple low dose-streptozotocin (MLD-STZ) induction with 20 mg/kg (bw) dose for 5 consecutive days. As many as 24 rats were devided into 6 groups of 4 each tail. Group treatments were the group of control, type 1 diabetes mellitus, and type 1 diabetes mellitus that given by therapy of Sargassum prismaticum extract orally with variations of given therapy on the different days to 1, 3, 5, and 7. SOD activity were measured by Elisa Reader Kit on the wavelength at 450 nm and histology description with hematoxylin-eosin staining. The results of this research obtained that SOD activity after given by Sargassum prismaticum extract have been raised and the results as follow as 53,80 (unit/mL), 63,78 (unit/mL), 73,67 (unit/mL), 83,85 (unit/mL). Sargassum prismaticum therapy can fixed the damage of DM type 1 hepar tissue on rats that have been induction by MLD-STZ

EMPOWERMENT OF KARANG REJO FARMER GROUP TO IMPROVE THE UTILIZATION OF COFFEE LEAVES INTO CONSUMPTION. Coffee ore is the main asset of Pekon Karang Rejo, Ulubelu Subdistrict, Tanggamus Regency, however, coffee ore is not the only commodity that can be processed as a source of income, even coffee leaves can be processed into an innovative product and rich in health benefits. The optimal use of natural resources can increase productivity in this village, not only in terms of material use value but also potentially, besides that the community can expand their horizons with the existence of this activity. The coffee leaves in Pekon are not utilized optimally because of the lack of community knowledge, and the accessibility to technology that is quite difficult so that people do not innovate. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to provide education about the management and efficacy of coffee leaf tea as an abundant available natural material in this Pekon and its modern marketing. The method used is to provide counseling or outreach and with the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) approach. Based on this it is expected that the community can innovate in utilizing available natural materials
