    Mobile library and staff preparedness

    The provision of access to information and effective delivery of information services is central to the role of librarians. Mobile technologies have added another dimension to this role – one that requires new knowledge, skills and competencies to ensure the needs and expectations of users are met. If libraries are to be successful in developing services for mobile technologies, their managers will have to consider two significant staffing issues. Firstly, it is important to understand what knowledge, skills and competencies are needed by staff to enable them to deliver services through mobile technologies, and secondly, to use that understanding to provide support and training for staff in the use of mobile technologies. In order to explore these issues and to contribute to the planning and professional development in the mobile library environment, a survey was undertaken of librarians working in the vocational education and training (VET) sector in Australia and New Zealand

    Severe Accidental Organophosphorus Poisoning in Two Children

    Background: Organophosphorus (OP) compounds have intense anticholinesterase activity and are commonly used as insecticides and pesticides. OP poisoning is a global health problem and poses a threat to human health. Case Report: Here we report two sisters, aged 3 and 4 years, who had inadvertently eaten agricultural pesticides. These patients had a decreased level of consciousness, nausea, and vomiting. We do not have pralidoxime in this center and the adjacent center, so we used atropine as the primary drug in treating these patients. However, after 4 days, the 3-year-old patient felt a weakness in upper and lower limb movements. Conclusion: In the treatment of OP poisoning, it is necessary to pay special attention to delayed complications such as intermediate syndrome

    Casimir effect for nonlocal field theories with continuum massive modes

    In this paper, we study the Casimir force for a class of Lorentzian nonlocal field theories. These theories include a continuum of massive excitations. In this regard, the effect of continuum massive modes on Casimir force is of interest. We focus on the simplest case of two absorbing parallel planes in 1+1 dimensions, and we show that, unlike local field theories, the thickness of the absorbing " walls " changes the value of Casimir force
