The Urban-rural Dichotomy in the Indonesian Documentaries Nona Nyonya? and Untuk Apa?

The media play a pivotal role in the democratization process in Indonesia and this is among others apparent in the surge of films, both fiction and documentaries that have been produced after the end Suharto\u27s decades of control over the media. It is important to note, however, that compared with fiction films, the documentary genre remains rather unpopular in Indonesia. Indonesian documentary films struggle to depict stories of the subaltern and those living in the “periphery” in order for them to be seen and heard by the greater masses and by those in power – the ones in the “centre” or Jakarta. This paper discusses the connection between urban and rural voices and its impact in the documentary films Nona nyonya? (Miss mrs?, 2008) and Untuk apa? (What\u27s the point?, 2008) produced by Kalyana Shira Films, an organization well-known for its work on gender issues using film as medium. Departing from the notion that the film industry itself is still largely Jakarta-centred, this article focuses on the way urban settings and voices are used to create rhetoric, and the impact of the domination of these urban voices over the rural ones

Analysis Expression of ZIP1 and Caspase-3 Protein in Adenocarsinoma of the Prostate

Background: Carcinogenesis of adenocarcinoma of the prostate occurs due to dysregulation of zinc level within the cells. Intracellular zinc molecules influx is regulated by a transporter protein ZIP1, whose non-presence is predicted to inhibit apoptosis, thus leads to the development of prostate adenocarcinoma. Methods: This study was aimed to analyse the correlation of ZIP1 and Caspase-3 expression in prostate adenocarcinoma on its grading as represented by Gleason Score. This was a cross-sectional, retrospective analytical study on 31 Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue that meets inclusion criteria. The specimen was stained using the immune-histochemistry technique for ZIP1 and Caspase-3. Protein expression of each case was counted using ImageJ analysis. Gleason score was acquired as secondary data from the cases' reports. The correlation of their expression with respect to Gleason score was analysed with Pearson's correlation using SPSS 11.5. Results: Mean expression level of ZIP1 and Caspase-3 in prostate adenocarcinoma were 35% and 33%, respectively. There was a significantly positive correlation between ZIP1 and Caspase-3 expression (r=0.379; p=0.018). However, their correlation was stronger in intermediate-grade group (r=0.73; p=0.01) and the correlation was much weaker in high-grade group (r=0.04; p=0.48). Conclusions: There was a positive correlation between ZIP1 and Caspase-3 expression in prostate adenocarcinoma.&nbsp

Larval stage is the early phase of the life cycle for the fish. The larvae are aquatic biota that are planktonic and included into the type meroplankton. Seagrass ecosystems in Pramuka Island, has important ecological functions in coastal areas, where the ecosystem is one of the nursery ground and feeding ground for fish larvae. The big difference the density of seagrass and the presence of food can influence abundance of fish larvae. Thus, it will be the base for doing this research on The relations between Seagrass Density and Fish Larvae Abundance in Pramuka, Seribu Island Jakarta. This research aims to determine the abundance of fish larvae in different seagrass densities and determine the influence of the seagrass density on the abundance of fish larvae. The method used is survey method in determining the point of sampling using purposive sampling method. The results obtained are at station I the densities in dense seagrass (34156 individuals/100m2) abundance of fish larvae value at 756 individuals/200m2 consisting of eight families. Station II medium density (26410 individuals/100m2) the value of the abundance of fish larvae is 579 individuals/200m2 consisting of 6 families, and station III precision rarely (6321 individuals/100m2) the value of fish larvae abundance at 426 individuals/200m2 consisting of 4 families. The correlation values between the abundance of fish larvae with the density of seagrass in the amount of r = 0,772. Based on the above, we can conclude that there is a close relationship between the abundance and composition of fish larvae families with seagrass density. The higher the density of seagrass, the higher the families abundance and composition of fish larvae. Similarly, the lower the density value then the value of seagrass abundance and composition of fish larvae are also lower

An understanding of laboratory management is highly important to be owned by parties related to the laboratory, both directly and indirectly. Laboratories must be managed and utilized properly, because chemical laboratories are one type of laboratory that is considered quite dangerous in the context of carrying out education, research, and / or community service. This study aims to describe the management of a chemical laboratory using qualitative descriptive research methods. Research subjects were the principal, vice chairman of the curriculum, chair of the laboratory, and teachers in the field of chemistry studies. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research are: 1) Planning of chemical laboratory work program has been prepared and standardized by the head of the laboratory, 2) Organizing the laboratory structurally already exists, 3) Organizing by the principal involving all those involved in laboratory management, 4) The implementation of the program is suitable with the plan of the work program, 5) Supervision and evaluation of the principal must still be carried out intensively. In other words, laboratory management at SMA 55 Jakarta has been well organized
