To provide contractual framework for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) contract as reference for construction industry in Jordan, this paper aims to discuss the best contractual framework to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM) under (DBB) approach in construction sector in Jordan. To achieve this aim, scope of comprehensive literature divided in two frameworks is explored. First, the construction sector in Jordan and the others is the building information modeling framework. In this research, a qualitative approach is employed, where 13 semi-structured meetings were implemented with the largest construction companies in Jordanian construction field. The main research' findings revealed that improvements in the DBB contract, adopting BIM officially in contract and improving stakeholders ' relationship are obtained. The study concluded that to adopt BIM process correctly, earlier participation of major stakeholders is essential to enhance the coordination grade, discovering early disputes and decreasing the redesign processes. This in turn, safes efforts, time and cost

BIM permits complete cooperation between project parties to imagine the future built in a simulated environment by determining any potential design and construction problems through the projects life cycle. Despite BIM is technically mature, until now its legal and contractual methods are not standardized. The construction industry in several countries is suffering from many challenges and insufficient productivity, so BIM is consider the future of the construction industry, it is the way to address these challenges. Although the BIM have huge benefits, there are various risks and problems impact in this technology, legal problems and contractual issues are minimizing and hindering the better adoption of BIM. So, the main aim of this study is to highlight an understanding about some concepts and issues, which lead to successful implementation of BIM, the major issues include: BIM definition, Benefits of BIM, understanding the construction contract, overview of contractual BIM adoption (theoretical frameworks) and Legal issues surrounding BIM adoption. The importance of this research is to determine the popular contractual issues and aspects that affect and impedes the applying of BIM in many countries, and to remedy them and reduce their disadvantageous effects in the construction projects

Among the last decade there is several developments in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, information technology and its application was the major one. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is now globally considered a better solution to enormous building problems, it made huge effect on building and construction industry, and not only in the project design and implementation phases, but it is considered as a good tool for the whole project lifecycle. This paper aims to explain the concept of BIM including the definition, history, benefits and advantages. A conceptual understanding of (BIM) has been suggested in this paper depend on an extensive literature review. It is hoped that the concept emphasize in this paper will encourage positive debate on BIM and winning some concern from the practitioners and researchers
