    Increasing student involvement in school is one of the efforts that schools can make to reduce the problems that occur among students. Student involvement can support the achievement of learning goals and direct students to connect the relevance of learning to their lives. The fact found in class IV A of SD Negeri Jombor 01 was that students were less enthusiastic or did not enjoy learning which was reflected in the lack of student response during learning. This research aims to describe the importance of student involvement in implementing project based learning through creating projects. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. The subjects of this research were 20 students in class IV A. Data collection in carrying out the research used observation, interviews and documentation. The sampling technique, researchers used purposive sampling. Data analysis uses qualitative data analysis techniques, according to Huberment and Miles, 1994. The results of the research show that students play an active role in solving problems creatively and collaboratively in the application of project based learning, student involvement continues to grow in behavioral, emotional and cognitive terms. Of the total number of 20 students, there were 19 students who could solve problems collaboratively.
