    Top quark asymmetry and Wjj excess at CDF from gauged flavor symmetry

    Full text link
    We show that the scalar sector needed for fermion mass generation when the flavor symmetry of the standard model is maximally gauged can consistently explain two anomalies reported recently by the CDF collaboration - the forward-backward asymmetry in t-tbar pair production, and the dijet invariant mass in the Wjj channel. A pair of nearly degenerate scalar doublets with masses in the range 150-200 GeV explain these anomalies, with additional scalars predicted in the mass range 100-400 GeV. Consistency of such low scale flavor physics with flavor changing processes is shown, and expectations for the LHC are outlined.Comment: 4 pages, RevTeX, 3 figure

    Identifying new physics contributions in the Higgs sector at linear e+e- colliders

    Full text link
    Loop driven decay modes of the Higgs are sensitive to new physics contributions because of new particles in the loops. To highlight this we look at the dilepton-dijet signal in the dominant Higgs production channel at a linear e+e- collider. We show that by taking a simple ratio between cross-sections of two different final states such contributions can be very easily identified.Comment: Latex 4 pages, 2 eps figures (style files included). Determination of Cefadroxil Antibiotic by an Analytical Method

    Get PDF
    This paper includes the most relevant analytical methodology used for the determination of Cefadroxil antibiotic. Cefadroxil is an orally active semi-synthetic ?-lactam antibiotic from the cephalosporin group, characterized by its prolonged action. This compound is effective against susceptible bacteria causing infections of the urinary tract, skin and soft tissue as well as pharyngitis and laryngitis. A  variety of analytical methods have been proposed for the determination of cefadroxil in biological fluids and pharmaceutical samples. The spectrophotometric method using oxidative coupling reaction has been performed in which chloranillic acid & MBTH has been used as reagent at 535 nm & 420 nm absorbance with linear range of 15-415 ?g/ml & 1-12?g/ml. Speed of analysis has become of paramount importance in many application areas, such as in pharmaceutical and clinical analysis, in order to increase throughput and reduce costs. In this way, the recently invented methods offer new practical possibilities for increasing their efficiencies. Keywords: Cefadroxil(CFL); Antibiotics; Biological and pharmaceutical samples;

    Single Photon Signals for Warped Quantum Gravity at a Linear e+-e- Collider

    Full text link
    We study the `single photon' process e+- e- -> gamma nu nubar with contributions due to exchange of massive gravitons in the Randall- Sundrum model of low-scale quantum gravity. It is shown that for significant regions in the parameter space, this process unambiguously highlights the resonance structure of the graviton sector. Even in the non-resonant part of the parameter space, we show that comparison with the benchmark process e+- e- -> mu+- mu- can clearly distinguish signals for warped gravity from similar signals for large extra dimensions.Comment: Published version; figures change
