Centralized monitoring and control of air conditioning units
934-939A virtual instrument has been developed using LabVIEW graphical programming language to monitor current drawn by air conditioning units (ACUs) at a central location. Program is flexible and permits operator to control, override and limit operational time of individual units so that wasteful expenditure is avoided. Concurrently, in the event of a power outage, load on back up DG sets can be programmed and restricted only to areas of emergency. Minimal hardware changes are required for implementation of new design system in existing ACU installations. Substantial reduction in cabling cost is achieved by designing additional hardware to reduce number of cables, connecting data acquisition card to AC systems
A virtual instrument for pulsed electrodeposition: A novel technique for obtaining graded coatings
1026-1028This study presents a computerized virtual instrument
to generate a sequence of current pulses across two electrodes immersed in an electrolyte. Pulse parameters can be
entered from a keyboard. Amplitude of pulses can be fixed or programmatically varied over the process
period. This system is well suited for developing coatings with graded physical
properties
A computer-based approach for developing functionally graded and layered coatings with detonation spray coating process
477-480Many material based technologies are being attempted for developing functionally graded coatings to withstand increasingly demanding conditions like higher temperatures, corrosive atmospheres, erosive attack, etc. This article describes a computerized concept to develop gradient or layered coatings using the detonation spray coating (DSC) technique
