'Milking the Cow': Young Women's Constructions of Identity, Gender, Power and Risk in Transactional and Cross-Generational Sexual Relationships
This report presents the findings of a qualitative study carried out in Maputo, Mozambique, among women engaged in cross-generational transactional sex. Cross-generational sex is contributing significantly to the spread of HIV/AIDS in Mozambique and as such is a key area for behaviour change interventinos, although few organisations are currently addressing the issue. The study reveals thta young women engaged in cross-generational and transactional sex have a complex sexual network involving multiple partners, including both transactional and non-transactional relationships. The study was carried out between October and November 2004, using the PEER (participatory ethnographic evaluation and research) method. PEER is an innovative approach to programme research, evaluation and design, based upon training members of the target group (peer researchers) to carry out in-depth qualitative interviews among their peers. Twenty young women in the age group 16-25 years, living in and around central Maputo were recruited as peer researchers. Each peer researcher interviewed three peers and conducted three separate interviews with each peer, with a total of 180 interviews carried out
Cloud Computing with Intelligent Agents to Support Service Oriented System Control and Management
the past few years, Cloud computing has becoming one of the revolutionary technologies in ICT which grows in both popularity and importance, both in industry and in academic domain. More and more private companies, government organizations and institutions are convinced and happy to promote Cloud to improve both connectivity and instant social ability. For IT services and solutions for business, Cloud-based platform promises to offer better business intelligence and productive experience by using unified communications, consistent collaborated data and service management. It is well believed that Cloud Computing will also bring a revolution in the healthcare IT sector along with other ICT business. To exploit Cloud computing productivity potential, this paper focuses on adopting Cloud computing technologies with agent-based solutions to support service oriented system control and management. The on-going research and practice demonstrates an application to the management of community care provision, which shows transforming to Software-as-a-Service (Saas) with the combination of a private healthcare cloud and integrated agents can improve business efficiency by providing flexible services scheduling, smarter health care services control and management
MSGP Notice of Intent for Sandia
A Notice of Intent is required for authorization of coverage under the Multi-Sector General Permit
Justification for Class 3 Permit Modification, Corrective Action Complete with Controls, Solid Waste Management Unit 76, Mixed Waste Landfill, Sandia National Laboratories/New Mexico, EPA ID Number NM5890110518 Volumes I through VIII
The Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE) and Sandia Corporation (Sandia) are submitting a request for a Class 3 Modification to Module IV of Hazardous Waste Permit NM5890110518-1 (the Permit). DOE and Sandia are requesting that the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) designate solid waste management unit (SWMU) 76 as approved for Corrective Action Complete status. NMED made a preliminary determination in October 2014 that corrective action is complete at this SWMU. SWMU 76, known as the Mixed Waste Landfill (MWL), is a 2.6-acre site at Sandia National Laboratories, located on Kirtland Air Force Base immediately southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Radioactive wastes and mixed wastes (radioactive wastes that are also hazardous wastes) were disposed of in the MWL from March 1959 through December 1988. The meximum depth of burial is approximately 25 feet below the ground surface. Groundwater occurs approximately 500 feet below the ground surface at the MWL. DOE and Sandia have implemented corrective measures at SWMU 76 in accordance with the requirements of the Permit; an April 2004 Compliance Order on Consent between NMED, DOE, and Sandia; and the plans approved by NMED. On January 8, 2014, NMED approved a long-term monitoring and maintenance plan (LTMMP) for SWMU 76. DOE and Sandia have implemented the approved LTMMP, maintaining the controls established through the corrective measures. The permit modification request consists of a letter with two enclosures: 1. A brief history or corrective action at SWMU 76 2. An index of the supporting documents that comprise the justification for the permit modification request. The supporting documents are included in an 8-volume set: Justification for Class 3 Permit Modification for Corrective Action Complete With Controls, Solid Waste Management Unit 76, Mixed Waste Landfill. Volume/pages: I/858. II/420. III/556. IV/1128. V/848. VI/1110. VII/914. VIII/866

Using Agent Solutions and Visualization Techniques to Manage Cloud-based Education System
Over the past few years, there are many requests from academic institutions, eLearning developers, education businesses owners, and global enterprises concerning cloud-based education systems. Nowadays, a range of software and applications have been created for managing teaching and learning resources via internet. Many of them have been even trying to integrate all the educational resources into a single cloud system. This paper proposes using agent technologies and visualization solutions to manage cloud-based education systems to match streamline of day to day business and operations. It focuses on adopting agents for University of Westminster’s Cloud computing education system and mobile learning project. It shows how intelligent agents can be used as a good tool for cloud-based education service and associated applications provision and management within Software as Service (SaaS) level
