Hipokalemik Paralizi ile Klinik Belirti Veren Adrenokortikal Karsinom Olgusu
Sunulan olgu, hipokalemik paralizi nedeni ile araştırılırken glukokortikoid
ve muhtemelen aldosteron- salgılayan adrenokortikal kanser tespit edilen
52 yaşında kadın hastadır. Adrenal kanserler çok nadir tümörlerdir ve prognozları
oldukça kötüdür. Hastalığın ağır hipopotasemi ile ortaya çıkması ise
daha da seyrek görülen bir durumdur. Hasta, nadir bir olgu olmasının yanı
sıra hipopotasemi saptanan bir kişide araştırılması gereken endokrinolojik
problemlere dikkat çekmek amacı ile sunulmuştur
Diabetes-Specific Antibodies and Their use in Clinical Practice
AbstractType 1A diabetes results from the destruction of the insulin-secreting islet b-cells by an immune-mediated process. In the majority of patients, the clinical course is typical and there is no doubt about the diagnosis. However, the measurement of autoimmune diabetes markers is very useful in some situations such as differential diagnosis of type 1A diabetes and early-onset type 2 diabetes, as well as in the detection of latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) cases. Moreover, in the type 1A diabetes prevention studies, autoimmune markers are needed for detection of individuals under risk and for their follow-up. The autoantibodies widely used in clinical course are: ICAs, IAA, GADA and IA-2 / IA-2b. Recently, a novel marker, ZnT8A, is described as a b-cell-specific antibody. In the present paper, the assay and clinical use of diabetes-specific autoantibodies are reviewed. Turk Jem 2011; 15: 8-1

Synthesis of new 2-arylidene-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-ones
A number of 2-arylidene-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-ones were synthesized and evaluated for CNS activity. Some of the tested compounds exhibited marked CNS depressant activity in mice
Synthesis of some new 1,1-bis[5-(substituted amino)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]-2-methylbutanes
Study of Radiotherapy Properties and Antimicrobial Activity of Glyconanoparticles (GNPs) Generated from Imidazolium Salts
Carbohydrate-based imidazolium salts (IMSs) are structural patterns for the synthesis of pharmaceutically and biologically active substances. For this purpose, the chiral furanoside-based imidazolium salt conjugated with a cysteamine (Cyt) linker attached gold and silver nanoparticles were prepared in this study. The biological applications of the HeLa and A549 cell lines using MTT cell proliferation method were exhibited to determine the biological evaluation of NPs conjugated with sugar based imidazolium salt. The satisfactory results obtained demonstrated that the synthesized glyconanoconjugates were radiotherapeutic agents. Moreover, this modification type within a galactose derived imidazolium salt is the first work in bioapplications, especially in radiotherapy. The antimicrobial activity of IMSs and their nanoconjugates against test pathogens was also evaluated using the disc diffusion technique. We would like to Ege University for financial support of this work (FGA-2019-20195). Factors affecting therapeutic response of adhesive capsulitis in type II diabetes mellitus
Effects of Nasal CPAP Treatment on Insulin Resistance, Lipid Profile, and Plasma Leptin in Sleep Apnea
Background Obstructive sleep apnea has been linked with metabolic syndrome characterized by dyslipidemia, dyscoagulation, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus type 2 and their cardiovascular consequences. This study was designed to determine the effects of 8 weeks of therapy with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on insulin resistance, glucose, and lipid profile, and the relationship between leptin and insulin-resistance parameters in patients with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea
