    Emprendimientos Innovadores para la Movilidad Estudiantil de las Américas

    El proyecto “Emprendimientos Innovadores para la movilidad estudiantil en las Américas” tuvo por objetivo generar un canal para el intercambiode estudiantes de la Universidad de West Virginia (WVU) de Estados Unidos y de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción (UNA) de Paraguay.La metodología empleada en el proceso de preselección fue a través de un concurso público, valiéndose de tests psicotécnicos, entrevistasindividuales y un ensayo acerca de los intereses de los estudiantes. Los principales resultados obtenidos fueron la movilidad de los estudiantes,investigaciones realizadas en el área ambiental, experiencia internacional, aprendizaje cultural, conocimientos acerca de los escenarios ambientales y energéticos de los EE.UU. y de Paraguay einteracción de los grupos de estudiantes con instituciones y la comunidad. Se concluye en base a los informes de los estudiantes y la evaluación de los coordinadores de ambas universidades que la experiencia ayudó a ampliar la visión de los futuros profesionales y a fijar como objetivo a mediano plazo; realizar maestrías y especializaciones en universidades del extranjero. Se recomiendaque la UNA siga promoviendo proyectos innovadores de intercambio con miras a la acreditación internacional de manera a establecer el intercambio de pre y posgrado para beneficio de la universidad y del país

    The project “Innovative Ventures for student mobility in the Americas” was generally aim to generate a channel for the exchange of students at West Virginia University (WVU) United States and the National University of Asunción (UNA) of Paraguay. the methodology used in the screening process was through a public tender, using psychometric tests, individual interviews and an essay about the interests of students. the main results obtained were the mobility of students, research in the area environmental, international experience, cultural learning, knowledge about environmental and energy scenarios for the US and Paraguay and interaction of student groups and community institutions. It is concluded based on the reports of students and assessment coordinators from both universities that experience helped broaden the vision of future professionals and to target in the medium term; perform master’s degrees and specializations in universities abroad. It is recommended that the A further promote exchange innovative projects aimed at international accreditation so as to establish the exchange of undergraduate and graduate for the benefit of the university and the country

    Reduction of the use of polyethylene bags: Ecological management alternative in San Lorenzo, Paraguay. 2015

    The present research analyzes the problem of the harmful effect of the use of polyethylene bags in the environment, with the aim of proposing an alternative of ecological management that contributes to the reduction of the use of polyethylene bags in the area of influence of a Supermarket X in the city of San Lorenzo in 2015. Therefore, the realization of this study responds to the need to present alternatives for the use of polyethylene bags in smaller quantities through the generation of incentives and greater education. For this research we opted for a qualitative and quantitative approach of descriptive cross-sectional level. For the collection of data it was used to conduct interviews and surveys both to managers of the supermarket and customers of the same. It was found in this investigation that the costs incurred for the acquisition and sale of polyethylene bags by a supermarket branch amount, on average, to Gs. 46,000,000 per month. Also, the predisposition of the consumer to reduce their consumption of polyethylene bags can be summarized as favorable. Therefore, the present paper proposes alternatives for the use of polyethylene bags that favor merchants, customers, society and the environment

    La presente investigación analiza la problemática del efecto nocivo que genera en el medioambiente la utilización de bolsas de polietileno, con el objetivo de proponer alternativa de gestión ecológica que contribuya a la reducción de la utilización de bolsas de polietileno en la zona de influencia de un supermercado X en la ciudad de San Lorenzo en el 2015. Por ello, la realización de este estudio responde a la necesidad de presentación de alternativas de uso de bolsas de polietileno en menores cantidades mediante la generación de incentivos y mayor educación. Para esta investigación se optó por un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo de nivel descriptivo de corte transversal. Para la recolección de datos se recurrió a realizar entrevistas y encuestas tanto a directivos del supermercado como a clientes del mismo. Pudo constatarse en esta investigación que los costos incurridos para la adquisición y expendio de bolsas de polietileno por una sucursal de supermercado ascienden en promedio a Gs. 46.000.000 por mes. Asimismo, la predisposición delconsumidor a reducir su consumo de bolsas de polietileno puede resumirse como favorable. Por ello el presente trabajo propone alternativas para el uso de bolsas de polietileno que favorezcan a los comerciantes, los clientes, la sociedad y el medio ambiente

    The objective of this research report is analyze the physical environmental status of the Faculty of Economics UNA, to propose the creation of an Environmental Management Department that collaborate with the improvement of the environment, provide services to the community and lead to the introduction of the institution in the Circular Economy. The focus of the investigation was of type quantitative qualitative of descriptive - analytical level, of cross longitudinal. The following techniques were used: surveys, field observations and interviews. The main findings of the observations and surveys were: regular physical environment, deficient environmental management, lack of classification and treatment of solid and liquid waste, irrational use of water and electricity, inadequate infrastructure for accessibility of people with disabilities, lack of fire protection systems and signage, poor collaboration of the university community in caring for the environment. However, positive contributions made by the university extension were found, including: plantation of more than 2000 trees, construction of three ecological squares, placement of environmental awareness sign boards and encouragement to students about research on environmental issues. Experts interviewed recommended the creation of an Environmental Management Department at the institution for the provision of services and advice to the community on environmental issues and laws, about sustainable finance Everything analyzed it is concluded that there is a need to create an Environmental Management Department at the Faculty of Economics, that elaborate and implement environmental policies, an environmental Management System, a Waste Management System and a Fire Protection System, a Signage System among others, in order to position the Faculty of Economics as a sustainable institution and move towards a Circular Economy. It comes in the final part of the results the proposed of creation of the Environmental Management Department
