Wall crossing for symplectic vortices and quantum cohomology

We derive a wall crossing formula for the symplectic vortex invariants of toric manifolds. As an application, we give a proof of Batyrev's formula for the quantum cohomology of a monotone toric manifold with minimal Chern number at least two.Comment: 45 pages, no figures, some typos remove

Floer homology and the heat flow

We study the heat flow in the loop space of a closed Riemannian manifold MM as an adiabatic limit of the Floer equations in the cotangent bundle. Our main application is a proof that the Floer homology of the cotangent bundle, for the Hamiltonian function kinetic plus potential energy, is naturally isomorphic to the homology of the loop space.Comment: 83 pages, 1 figure. We introduce a class of abstract perturbations in order to achieve transversality. The argument carries over to this clas

Trajectories of the S-matrix poles in Salamon-Vertse potential

    Get PDF
The trajectories of S-matrix poles are calculated in the finite-range phenomenological potential introduced recently by P. Salamon and T. Vertse (SV). The trajectories of the resonance poles in this SV potential are compared to the corresponding trajectories in a cut-off Woods-Saxon (WS) potential for l>0. The dependence on the cut-off radius is demonstrated. The starting points of the trajectories turn out to be related to the average ranges of the two terms in the SV potential

Curvature Correction in the Strutinsky's Method

Mass calculations carried out by Strutinsky's shell correction method are based on the notion of smooth single particle level density. The smoothing procedure is always performed using curvature correction. In the presence of curvature correction a smooth function remains unchanged if smoothing is applied. Two new curvature correction methods are introduced. The performance of the standard and new methods are investigated using harmonic oscillator and realistic potentials.Comment: 4 figures, submitted to Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physic
