Introduction: Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is a common reason for hospitalisation across the world, with a UK frequency of 10% and a death rate of 8-14 percent. [1] Several risk assessment scores have been created to predict clinically relevant outcomes like death, the requirement for hospital-based care, rebleeding, and hospital stay length Objective: To determine frequency of mortality in patients with high AIMS65 score presenting with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Setting: Gastroenterology Department –removed for blind review--- Material & Methods: It was a cross-sectional, prospective, observational research study. Patients having a high AIMS score were recruited in the study. The patient's medical history, physical examination, and biochemical data were all properly recorded. Patients were observed for the outcome variable, which was hospital mortality. Results: 119 patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria were included. There were 77 (64.7%) males and 42 (35.3%) females. The mean age was 43.10 ± 14.213 years On analysis of demographic data, it was observed that 61 (51.3%) patients were below 40 years of age. On analysis of organ dysfunction 79 (66.4%) had cardiovascular dysfunction, 55 (46.2%) had respiratory dysfunction, 39 (32.8%) had renal dysfunction. On outcome variable, It was observed that 81 (68.1%) of the people had died. Conclusion: Majority of the patients with high AIMS had mortality. Majority of the patients were males and had cardiovascular dysfunction. Key words: GERD, endoscopy, gastroduedonal disease, carcinoma, gastritis

The aim of this study was to find out the impact of perceived organizational support and psychological capital on organizational commitment among university’s employees. The target population for this study was the employees of the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan, Pakistan (MNSUAM). The study was based on a correlational research design, and total of 128 employees were sampled through a simple random sampling technique. Survey method was used for data collection. The instruments used for data collection included the Perceived Organizational Support Scale (POSS) Psychological Capital Questionnaire and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire The data was collected from 128 employees analyzed through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of this study revealed a significant correlation between dependent and independent variables. The regression analysis indicated significant impact of perceived organizational support on organizational commitment. Further, it was also indicated a significant impact of psychological capital on organizational commitment among university employees. No significant gender differences were found in terms of perceived organizational support and psychological capital and organizational commitment. However, the results indicated a difference in Job status in terms of perceived organizational support. The findings of this study suggest a significant role of study variables which would be helpful to conduct future studies in the area of public management, psychology, and more particularly, organizational psychology. Moreover, this study is also useful for designing an encouraging and supportive organizational environment for employees

All around the world, mostly the young males are influenced by the penetrating cardiac chock. It is a medical emergency. The patients suffering with penetrating cardiac trauma and admitted at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore in the timeframe of October 2017 to June 2018 were mentioned in this research study. These patients were suffering from injuries related to heart. Gunshot wounds followed by stab injuries was the usual procedure of injury. Ten cases were related to this trauma. All of these cases were males with age limit between 17-48 years. 7.23+- 0.855 was the mean revised trauma score. The mortality rate was 20%, out of 10 cases 2 was died. The usual region of wound was the right ventricle followed by left ventricle. In the treatment of these patients, the surgical methods followed was Median Sternotomy. The common finding during the surgery were Haemothorax and Pericardial tamponade. Through involvement of surgery in time, those patients were saved, suffering with penetrating cardiac injury and having observable indication of life. Keywords: Cardiac Trauma, Stab Wound, Median Sternotomy

The present study was designed to isolate Bifidobacterium strains from raw camel milk and to investigate their probiotic characteristics. Among 35 isolates, 8 were identified as Gram-positive, catalase negative, non-spore forming, non-motile and V or Y shaped rods. B-2, B-5, B-11, B-19 and B-28 exhibited good survival at low pH and high bile salt concentration. Most of the isolates were resistant to nalidixic acid, fusidic acid, polymyxin B, neomycin, streptomycin, gentamicin, rifampicin and kanamycin. Furthermore, the production of exopolysaccharides (EPS), adhesion characteristics, antioxidant properties, antagonistic activities, nitrite reduction and cholesterol assimilation were also studied. Isolate B-11 was chosen because it exhibited most of the probiotic properties among all the tested isolates. It is identified as the member of Bifidobacterium longum group through 16S rRNA gene sequencing and named as B. longum B-11. B. longum B-11 was further selected for in vivo attachment to rat intestine and scanning electron micrographs revealed that attachment of a large number of rods shaped bacterial cell. Our findings suggest that B. longum B-11 processes excellent attributes to be used as potential probiotic in the development of functional probiotic food
