    Enhanced Fast Iterative Shrinkage Thresholding Algorithm For Linear Inverse Problem

    The linear inverse problem emerges from various real-world applications such as Image deblurring, inpainting, etc., which are still thrust research areas for image quality improvement. In this paper, we have introduced a new algorithm called the Enhanced fast iterative shrinkage thresholding algorithm (EFISTA) for linear inverse problems. This algorithm uses a weighted least square term and a scaled version of the regularization parameter to accelerate the objective function minimization. The image deblurring simulation results show that EFISTA has a superior execution speed, with an improved performance than its predecessors in terms of peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), particularly at a high noise level. With these motivating results, we can say that the proposed EFISTA can also be helpful for other linear inverse problems to improve the reconstruction speed and handle noise effectively

    Enhancing security of optical cryptosystem with position-multiplexing and ultra-broadband illumination

    A position-multiplexing based cryptosystem is proposed to enhance the information security with an ultra-broadband illumination. The simplified optical encryption system only contains one diffuser acting as the random phase mask (RPM). Light coming from a plaintext passes through this RPM and generates the corresponding ciphertext on a camera. The proposed system effectively reduces problems of misalignment and coherent noise that are found in the coherent illumination. Here, the use of ultra-broadband illumination has the advantage of making a strong scattering and complex ciphertext by reducing the speckle contrast. Reduction of the ciphertext size further increases the strength of the ciphering. The unique spatial keys are utilized for the individual decryption as the plaintext locates at different spatial positions, and a complete decrypted image could be concatenated with high fidelity. Benefiting from the ultra-broadband illumination and position-multiplexing, the information of interest is scrambled together in a small ciphertext.     Clinical Appraisal on Therapeutic Efficacy of Tankana & Sphatika Bhasma With Madhu Pratisarana In Tundikeri

    The clinical study was carried out to find out the efficacy of Tankana & Sphatika bhasma with Madhu pratisarana in Tundikeri (Chronic Tonsillitis).The study was an Open Labelled Randomized Comparative study with a pre- and post-test design at the outpatient level of S.V.M. Ayurvedic Medical College & R.P.K Ayurvedic Hospital, Ilkal, Karnatak, India. In accordance to inclusion and exclusion criteria 30 patients were treated with Tankana bhasma (Purified borax powder) along with Madhu (honey) pratisarana and Sphatika bhasma (purified potash alum) along with Madhu pratisarana on alternative days for 13 days to Group A and Group B respectively. Each group comprised with 15 patients. After assessment of all data, the result conforms that both the drug Tankana bhasma with Madhu pratisarana and Sphatika bhasma with Madhu pratisarana on Tundikeri have significant result. However, in overall assessment, the efficacy of Tankana bhasma pratisarana is more significant than Sphatika bhasma pratisarana in the management of Tundikeri.     Welding of stainless steel with pure copper by Nd:YAG laser, optimizing the tensile strength

    Welded joints of copper and stainless steel has very important applications in the industries. In this project, laser welding of copper and stainless steel was carried out at different values of beam power, speed of the beam and pulse duration. A 9 kW ALPHALASER AL200 Nd:YAG was used to weld 1.5mm thick stainless steel plates and 1.6mm thick copper plates. Tensile testing of the specimen was done using universal testing machine(UTM) to find out the peak load at which the specimen breaks. The results were analysed using signal to noise ratio and multiple regression analysis for optimum parameters and degree to which each factor contributes respectively. Equation is found out to depict the relation between tensile strength, beam power, speed of the beam and pulse duration. Results indicate that tensile strength increases with increase in beam power and pulse duration, and decreases with increase in laser speed

    Abstract Novel 2-[(1,5-diphenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)oxy]benzoic acid (2a) & 2-[5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1-Phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl]benzoic acid (2b) were produced and examined for their in-vitro protein denaturation activities. It was discovered that compound 2b showed promise and had more potency than acetylsalicylic acid (NSAID) in inhibiting denaturation of bovine serum albumin. Docking research also supports this. The compound 2b has the highest docking scores with COX1(PDB ID 3N8Z), COX2 (PDB ID 4PH9), and TNF (PDB ID 2AZ5), respectively, of Etotal -233.75, -256.48, and -255.83. TLC and elemental tests were used to determine the compounds' purity. All of the generated molecules' analytical and spectral data (1H NMR, FTIR, and MS) were entirely consistent with the proposed structures

    Evaluation of gastrointestinal helminths in canine population of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India: a public health appraisal

    Aim: To evaluate the presence of gastrointestinal helminthic parasites in clinically apparent canines of Bhubaneswar, Odisha and to determine the risk of zoonotic infection to dog owners through questionnaire survey. Materials and Methods: A total of 154 dogs, with clinical signs of gastroenteritis were examined for the presence of helminthic ova and /or larvae in their faecal sample by direct smear and/ or floatation and centrifugation method. Prevalence was determined by sex wise, age wise, and breed wise. A structured questionnaire on 50 dog owners was designed to gather information on dog ownership, management and related risks on public health. Results: In the present investigation, the overall prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths infection was 41.46%. The infection rate was highest for mixed parasitic infection (26.57%) followed by Ancylostoma caninum (23.44%), Toxocara canis (20.31%) and lowest for Taenia spp. (3.13%). In relation to different groups, the prevalence was higher in male than female, highest in younger animals and it was shown a decreasing trend as age increased. It was also higher in non-descriptive breeds than pure and exotic breeds. Very few dog owners (10%) were conscious about that canine parasite could be transmitted to humans but none of them could provide correct information on the mode of transmission. Only 12 % dog owners had maintained standard deworming schedule. Conclusion: The findings showed that the high levels of ignorance among dog owners about canine helminthic parasites and transmission coupled with significant infection rates among the dogs in the community warrants immediate action needs to be taken to decrease infection rate in dogs and to raise awareness among the community about zoonotic diseases

    Plant-Derived SAC domain of PAR-4 (Prostate Apoptosis Response 4) Exhibits Growth Inhibitory Effects in Prostate Cancer Cells

    The gene Par-4 (Prostate Apoptosis Response 4) was originally identified in prostate cancer cells undergoing apoptosis and its product Par-4 showed cancer specific pro-apoptotic activity. Particularly, the SAC domain of Par-4 (SAC-Par-4) selectively kills cancer cells leaving normal cells unaffected. The therapeutic significance of bioactive SAC-Par-4 is enormous in cancer biology; however, its large scale production is still a matter of concern. Here we report the production of SAC-Par-4-GFP fusion protein coupled to translational enhancer sequence (5′ AMV) and apoplast signal peptide (aTP) in transgenic Nicotiana tabacum cv. Samsun NN plants under the control of a unique recombinant promoter M24. Transgene integration was confirmed by genomic DNA PCR, Southern and Northern blotting, Real-time PCR, and Nuclear run-on assays. Results of Western blot analysis and ELISA confirmed expression of recombinant SAC-Par-4-GFP protein and it was as high as 0.15% of total soluble protein. In addition, we found that targeting of plant recombinant SAC-Par-4-GFP to the apoplast and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) was essential for the stability of plant recombinant protein in comparison to the bacterial derived SAC-Par-4. Deglycosylation analysis demonstrated that ER-targeted SAC-Par-4-GFP-SEKDEL undergoes O-linked glycosylation unlike apoplast-targeted SAC-Par-4-GFP. Furthermore, various in vitro studies like mammalian cells proliferation assay (MTT), apoptosis induction assays, and NF-κB suppression suggested the cytotoxic and apoptotic properties of plant-derived SAC-Par-4-GFP against multiple prostate cancer cell lines. Additionally, pre-treatment of MAT-LyLu prostate cancer cells with purified SAC-Par-4-GFP significantly delayed the onset of tumor in a syngeneic rat prostate cancer model. Taken altogether, we proclaim that plant made SAC-Par-4 may become a useful alternate therapy for effectively alleviating cancer in the new era
