Coordinated Dynamic Spectrum Management of LTE-U and Wi-Fi Networks
This paper investigates the co-existence of Wi-Fi and LTE in emerging
unlicensed frequency bands which are intended to accommodate multiple radio
access technologies. Wi-Fi and LTE are the two most prominent access
technologies being deployed today, motivating further study of the inter-system
interference arising in such shared spectrum scenarios as well as possible
techniques for enabling improved co-existence. An analytical model for
evaluating the baseline performance of co-existing Wi-Fi and LTE is developed
and used to obtain baseline performance measures. The results show that both
Wi-Fi and LTE networks cause significant interference to each other and that
the degradation is dependent on a number of factors such as power levels and
physical topology. The model-based results are partially validated via
experimental evaluations using USRP based SDR platforms on the ORBIT testbed.
Further, inter-network coordination with logically centralized radio resource
management across Wi-Fi and LTE systems is proposed as a possible solution for
improved co-existence. Numerical results are presented showing significant
gains in both Wi-Fi and LTE performance with the proposed inter-network
coordination approach.Comment: Accepted paper at IEEE DySPAN 201
Theoretical Study of Transparent Conducting Oxide and Amorphous Silicon Interface and Its Impact on the Properties of Amorphous Silicon/Crystalline Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cell
AbstractThe physics of transparent conducting oxide (TCO) and n-type doped amorphous silicon interface has been studied with the aid of two-dimensional numerical simulations (Sentaurus TCAD, Synopsys), in order to determine the impact of the TCO work-function on the electrical performance of amorphous silicon (a-Si)/crystalline silicon (c-Si) heterojunction solar cell. Previous studies have indicated requirement of lower work-function for TCO in contact with n-type doped a-Si for higher solar cell efficiency. However due to the limitations in TCO deposition process conditions it is not possible to achieve a work-function below a certain value which limits the device efficiency. An alternate approach has been explored where the TCO in contact with n-type doped a-Si has been eliminated and a direct contact has been established with the metal. This has resulted in significant improvement in the calculated device efficiency due to the principal contribution from increased open circuit voltage and fill factor
Tris(propane-1,2-diamine-κ2 N,N′)nickel(II) tetracyanidoplatinate(II)
In the title compound, [Ni(C3H10N2)3][Pt(CN)4], the [Pt(CN)4]2− anion with the environment of the PtII atom, lying on a mirror plane, is square planar, whereas the NiII atom in the [Ni(C3N2H10)3]2+ cation, also lying on a mirror plane, has a slightly distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Three chiral 1,2-diaminopropane molecules, which are disordered equally over two sets of positions, adopt Δ(δδδ) and Δ(λλλ) configurations. The average Ni—N and Pt—C bond lengths are 2.131 (10) and 1.988 (10) Å, respectively. The cations and anions are connected by N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds
A Redox-Switchable α-Cyclodextrin-Based [2]Rotaxane
A bistable [2]rotaxane comprising an α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) ring and a dumbbell component containing a redox-active tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) ring system within its rod section has been synthesized using the Cu(I)-catalyzed azide−alkyne cycloaddition, and the redox-driven movements of the α-CD ring between the TTF and newly formed triazole ring systems have been elucidated. Microcalorimetric titrations on model complexes suggested that the α-CD ring prefers to reside on the TTF rather than on the triazole ring system by at least an order of magnitude. The fact that this situation does pertain in the bistable [2]rotaxane has not only been established quantitatively by electrochemical experiments and backed up by spectroscopic and chiroptical measurements but also been confirmed semiquantitatively by the recording of numerous cyclic voltammograms which point, along with the use of redox-active chemical reagents, to a mechanism of switching that involves the oxidation of the neutral TTF ring system to either its radical cationic (TTF^(•+)) or dicationic (TTF^(2+)) counterparts, whereupon the α-CD ring, moves along the dumbbell to encircle the triazole ring system. Since redox control by both chemical and electrochemical means is reversible, the switching by the bistable [2]rotaxane can be reversed on reduction of the TTF^(•+) or TTF^(2+) back to being a neutral TTF
Security Considerations in AI-Robotics: A Survey of Current Methods, Challenges, and Opportunities
Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been inextricably intertwined
since their inception. Today, AI-Robotics systems have become an integral part
of our daily lives, from robotic vacuum cleaners to semi-autonomous cars. These
systems are built upon three fundamental architectural elements: perception,
navigation and planning, and control. However, while the integration of
AI-Robotics systems has enhanced the quality our lives, it has also presented a
serious problem - these systems are vulnerable to security attacks. The
physical components, algorithms, and data that make up AI-Robotics systems can
be exploited by malicious actors, potentially leading to dire consequences.
Motivated by the need to address the security concerns in AI-Robotics systems,
this paper presents a comprehensive survey and taxonomy across three
dimensions: attack surfaces, ethical and legal concerns, and Human-Robot
Interaction (HRI) security. Our goal is to provide users, developers and other
stakeholders with a holistic understanding of these areas to enhance the
overall AI-Robotics system security. We begin by surveying potential attack
surfaces and provide mitigating defensive strategies. We then delve into
ethical issues, such as dependency and psychological impact, as well as the
legal concerns regarding accountability for these systems. Besides, emerging
trends such as HRI are discussed, considering privacy, integrity, safety,
trustworthiness, and explainability concerns. Finally, we present our vision
for future research directions in this dynamic and promising field
Evaluation of Cafeteria Diet in Experimental Animal with Plant Extract of Calotropis procera for Obesity Parameter
The function of obesity in an insulin-resistant syndrome associated with hyper insulinemia, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerotic diseased illness is vital. Hunger, body weight and lipid profile investigations thus assess Calotropis procera extract in animal models.
Adult Wister rats (180-240g) 8 were used in each experimental group. The impact of Cactus Kalahari on hunger, body weight and profile of lipids. (A) Control in weight, (B) obesity and CP+ obesity. Control obesity caused by material of cafeteria cuisine (CD). (CP was induced at (100 mg/kg/day po. for 50 days). Every 10 days, the food give, animal body weight, blood glucose, serum lipids level examined—serum and term tests for Liver Function and Renal Function Tests were checked.
Our research has demonstrated that following obesity induction CP pretreatment and administration at 100mg/kg/day p<0.05) have resulted in substantial reductions in food consumption, increased body weight and improved lipid profile, liver enzyme and kidney function tests. Cafeteria food rats also showed considerable growth in body weight gain, famine, lipid profile, hepatic enzymes, and kidney function tests.
When administered with a protein-rich food at the same time, the Kalahari extract prevented and reduced body weight gain and profile of lipid alterations in experimental induced obesity(fats) in rats
