    Implementation of Value Engineering for strategy formulation (Case study: Fisheries sector)

    This paper analyzes the results of implementing Value Engineering (VE) into SWOT methodology undertaken in Yazd province of Iran. This is the first time that these techniques have been undertaken for fisheries sector in Iran. The study mainly aims at applying Value Engineering and SWOT techniques to achieve the best out of decision-making, and also of management issues as a whole, through the consideration of creative ideas for improvement. The analyses use scientific trawl data and standardized analysis techniques. Based upon the analysis of fisheries issues, findings indicate that the optimized policy is to introduce new sea food chain restaurants into the studied province. Moreover, other suggestions could be as follows: advertising and good standard packaging for export, building facilities for processing and refrigeration by investors, producing Salmon for export in good packaging, producing crabs and other new species, encouraging people to consume more fish, paying great attention to research works, government supporting for transportation, loan, and subsidies, and finally encouraging investors

    Kontribusi Kemampuan Koneksi, Kemampuan Representasi, Dan Disposisi Matematis Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Matematika Siswa SMA Swasta Di Kabupaten Manggarai

    This research aimed at investigating: 1) the contribution of mathematical connection ability toward mathematics achievement through mathematical disposition, 2) the contribution of mathematical representation ability toward mathematics achievement through mathematical disposition, 3) the contribution of mathematical connection and representation mathematical ability toward mathematical disposition simultaneously, and 4) the contribution of the connection ability, representation ability and mathematical disposition toward students\u27 mathematics achievement simultaneously. The research applied ex post facto design. The population of this research was second year students\u27 of science program of private senior high schools in Manggarai regency in the academic year 2012/2013. The total members of sample was 230 which chosen using cluster sampling technique. The data of the connection and representation mathematical abilities were gathered using essay test. The data of mathematical disposition were collected by questionnaire. The data of students\u27 mathematics achievement were collected by using students\u27 first semester score. The data were analyzed using Path Analysis. The result indicated that: 1) the contribution of mathematical connection ability toward students\u27 mathematics achievement through mathematical disposition is 19,36%, 2) the contribution of mathematical representation ability toward students\u27 mathematics achievement through mathematical disposition is 14,12%, 3) the contribution of mathematical connection and representation ability toward mathematical disposition is 83,7%, and 4) the contribution of connection ability, representation ability, and mathematical disposition toward students\u27 mathematics achievement is 81,3%. Based on these research findings, it was concluded that connection ability, representation ability, and mathematical dispositions contribute significantly to mathematics achievement of grade XI science students of Manggarai directly or indirectly. keyword : Key words: contribution, connection ability, representation ability, disposition mathematical, and mathematics achievemen

    Pengaruh Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Dan Daya Matematika Ditinjau Dari Pengetahuan Awal Siswa SMP Nasional Plus Jembatan Budaya

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan daya matematika antara siswa yang mengikuti pendidikan matematika realistik (PMR) dan pembelajaran kooperatif, dan (2) interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dan pengetahuan awal terhadap pemahaman konsep dan daya matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Nasional Plus Jembatan Budaya pada siswa kelas VII semester I tahun ajaran 2011/2012. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (quasi eksperiment), dengan rancangan the nonequivalent postest only control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode group simple random sampling. Data post test pemahaman konsep dan daya matematika dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji MANOVA. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan hasil sebagai berikut: (1) terdapat perbedaan pendekatan pembelajaran terhadap variabel-variabel pemahaman konsep dan daya matematika secara bersama-sama (F=6,954; p0,05). Berdasarkan temuan penelitian di atas disarankan agar pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran di sekolah menggunakan pendidikan matematika realistik karena dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan daya matmatika siswa. Kata Kunci : PMR, Pemahaman Konsep, Daya Matematika The aims of the research to determine: (1) the differences in from conceptual understanding and mathematical power between the students who have learnt realistic mathematics education (RME) and cooperative learning, (2) interaction between learning approach and initial knowledge to conceptual understanding and mathematical power. This research has been done for the students of VII grade in first term of academic year 2011/2012 in SMP Nasional Plus Jembatan Budaya. The type of this research is a quasi experiment, which arranged by the nonequivalent pos test only control group design. The sample was taken with the group random sampling method. The conceptual understanding and mathematical power data post test were analyzed by using descriptive statistic and MANOVA test. Based on the analyzed result, it has been found such as, (1) there is difference from learnt approach to conceptual understanding and mathematical power variables in gathering (F=6.954; p0.05).     Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Stad Dengan Pendekatan Pemecahan Masalah Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Matematis Ditinjau Dari Penalaran Formal

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan pendekatan pemecahan masalah dan penalaran formal terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis bagi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan Post-test Only Control Group Design. Metode random sampling digunakan untuk menentukan kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol dari empat kelas setara di kelas X SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar yang berjumlah 84 orang. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan untuk pengujian hipotesis digunakan Anava Dua Jalur. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD berpendekatan pemecahan masalah dengan siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD. Ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis didapat FA hit = 82,292 dan nilai sig = 0,000 (p A2 = 62,36) dan (2) terdapat interaksi antara kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD berpendekatan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari penalaran formal. Ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis (FhitungAB = 5,589 dan nilai sig = 0,000, yang berarti bahwa nilai sig < 0,05). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, secara statistik model pembelajaran dan penalaran formal saling berinteraksi. Kata Kunci : STAD pemecahan masalah, berpikir kritis, penalaran formal This research aimed to describe the affect of cooperative learning mode STAD type with problem solving approach and formal reasoning to the way of mathematical critical thinking students in class X in SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar in the year of 2013/2014. The design of this research used Post-test Only Control Group Design. Random Sampling had been used to defined the experiment cluster and control from four equal classes in class X in SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar which amount around 84 students. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and to testify the hyphoteses the researcher had used Anava with two paths. The research's result had been shown that : (1) there was the difference in mathematical critical thinking ability to the students that their learning was using cooperative learning STAD type mode with problem solving approach with the students that was using cooperative learning STAD type mode. This can be noticed through the analysis result which gained FA hit = 82.292 and the value of sig = 0.000 (p x A2 = 62.36) and (2) there was the interaction between the mathematic critical thinking ability to the students that was using cooperative learning STAD type mode with problem solving approach which was viewed from formal reasoning. This can be shown from from the analysis result (F hitung AB = 5.589 and sig value = 0.000, which signified that the sig value < 0.05). This research result has shown that in affecting the mathematic critical thinking ability, statistically the learning mode and formal reasoning is having the interaction. keyword : words: STAD, problem solving, formal reasoning
