gobierno de Alberto Mart铆nez Baca - Carlos Mendoza.
obrero, los j贸venes revolucionarios, los pol铆ticos verticalistas, etc.
politizaci贸n.
The purpose of this article is to make reference to the different factors and
rivalries that brought about the downfall of the government Alberto Martinez Baca- Carlos Mendoza. Different interrelated forces intervened in this process: the extra
party attack, the working class movement, the revolutionary youth, the vertical
politicians, etc.
In order to do this we display the party mosaic at the time in Mendoza city that led
to the democratic transition in 1973. Basically, it is evident the interaction between
the Democratic Party and the Military Regime, the local moderate UCR and the
controversial heterogeneous Peron's party. They encountered great difficulties to
overcome their differences through institutional channels, but at the same time
there was an intense growing dynamic polarity.
Consequently, there arise some questions about the characteristics of the radical
change of young people and the attempt at a brief historical reconstruction of
Mendoza's working class movement from an analytical perspective that takes into
account two central aspects: its relation to Peron's charismatic leadership and its
ambivalent relation with the government of the "Argentine Revolution"路.
The quest for the effacement of Per贸n influence, the struggle to gain votes, the
individual longings at the opening of the electoral campaign, the diversity of
opinions on authoritarian govemrnents and the radical social views brought about
a profound internal crisis, a crisis that was reflected in the process that led to the
election of the candidates Alberto Mart铆nez Baca and Carlos Mendoza which
manifested the influence of the sectors identified with the 'Revolutionay
Peronism' and Peron's right wing sectors. The corollary was the intervention of
the three provincial powers.Fil: Sacchero, Carina.
