Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment of the Top Quark Revisited
We study the complete one-loop contributions to the chromagnetic dipole
moment of the top quark in the Standard Model, two Higgs doublet
models, topcolor assited technicolor models (TC2), 331 models and extended
models with a single extra dimension. We find that the SM predicts
and that the predictions of the other models are also
consitent with the constraints imposed on by low-energy
precision measurements.Comment: 20 pages, 5 figures, Updat
Tachyon warm inflationary universe model in the weak dissipative regime
Warm inflationary universe model in a tachyon field theory is studied in the
weak dissipative regime. We develop our model for an exponential potential and
the dissipation parameter =constant. We describe scalar and
tensor perturbations for this scenario.Comment: 9 pages, accepted by European Physical Journal
Bulk scalar field in brane-worlds with induced gravity inspired by the term
We obtain the effective field equations in a brane-world scenario within the
framework of a DGP model where the action on the brane is an arbitrary function
of the Ricci scalar, , and the bulk action includes a scalar field
in the matter Lagrangian. We obtain the Friedmann equations and acceleration
conditions in the presence of the bulk scalar field for the term in
four-dimensional gravity.Comment: 9 pages, to appear in JCA
Spin Analysis of Supersymmetric Particles
The spin of supersymmetric particles can be determined at colliders
unambiguously. This is demonstrated for a characteristic set of non-colored
supersymmetric particles -- smuons, selectrons, and charginos/neutralinos. The
analysis is based on the threshold behavior of the excitation curves for pair
production in collisions, the angular distribution in the production
process and decay angular distributions. In the first step we present the
observables in the helicity formalism for the supersymmetric particles.
Subsequently we confront the results with corresponding analyses of
Kaluza-Klein particles in theories of universal extra space dimensions which
behave distinctly different from supersymmetric theories. It is shown in the
third step that a set of observables can be designed which signal the spin of
supersymmetric particles unambiguously without any model assumptions. Finally
in the fourth step it is demonstrated that the determination of the spin of
supersymmetric particles can be performed experimentally in practice at an
collider.Comment: 39 pages, 14 figure
Entanglement Sharing in the Two-Atom Tavis-Cummings Model
Individual members of an ensemble of identical systems coupled to a common
probe can become entangled with one another, even when they do not interact
directly. We investigate how this type of multipartite entanglement is
generated in the context of a system consisting of two two-level atoms
resonantly coupled to a single mode of the electromagnetic field. The dynamical
evolution is studied in terms of the entanglements in the different bipartite
partitions of the system, as quantified by the I-tangle. We also propose a
generalization of the so-called residual tangle that quantifies the inherent
three-body correlations in our tripartite system. This enables us to completely
characterize the phenomenon of entanglement sharing in the case of the two-atom
Tavis-Cummings model, a system of both theoretical and experimental interest.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, submitted to PRA, v3 contains corrections to

Leptogenesis and neutrino parameters
We calculate the baryonic asymmetry of the universe in the
baryogenesis-via-leptogenesis framework, assuming first a quark-lepton symmetry
and then a charged-neutral lepton symmetry. We match the results with the
experimentally favoured range. In the first case all the oscillation solutions
to the solar neutrino problem, except the large mixing matter solution, can
lead to the allowed range, but with fine tuning of the parameters. In the
second case the general result is quite similar. Some related theoretical hints
are discussed.Comment: RevTex, 21 pages with 8 figure
Neutrino Masses, Mixing and New Physics Effects
We introduce a parametrization of the effects of radiative corrections from
new physics on the charged lepton and neutrino mass matrices, studying how
several relevant quantities describing the pattern of neutrino masses and
mixing are affected by these corrections. We find that the ratio omega = sin
theta / tan theta_atm is remarkably stable, even when relatively large
corrections are added to the original mass matrices. It is also found that if
the lightest neutrino has a mass around 0.3 eV, the pattern of masses and
mixings is considerably more stable under perturbations than for a lighter or
heavier spectrum. We explore the consequences of perturbations on some flavor
relations given in the literature. In addition, for a quasi-degenerate neutrino
spectrum it is shown that: (i) starting from a bi-maximal mixing scenario, the
corrections to the mass matrices keep tan theta_atm very close to unity while
they can lower tan theta_sol to its measured value; (ii) beginning from a
scenario with a vanishing Dirac phase, corrections can induce a Dirac phase
large enough to yield CP violation observable in neutrino oscillations.Comment: 14 pages, 21 figures. Uses RevTeX4. Added several comments and

Enhanced superchannel transmission using phase conjugation
We demonstrate polarisation insensitive dual-band optical phase conjugation for multiple 400Gbit/s optical superchannels using a Raman amplified transmission link with a realistic span length of 75km. The resultant increase in transmission distance is confirmed analytically
Search for magnetic monopoles at the Chacaltaya cosmic ray laboratory
The new large area (400 m2) experiment—SLIM—to search for magnetic monopoles and other exotic massive particles is presented. It uses of nuclear track detectors and is being deployed at the Chacaltaya cosmic ray laboratory for at least 4 years. The detection capability of the experiment is discussed
