    Protecting digital data privacy in Computer Forensic Examination

    Session 1: Forensic Modeling and Framework: no. 3Privacy is a fundamental human right defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To enable the protection of data privacy, personal data that are not related to the investigation subject should be excluded during computer forensic examination. In the physical world, protection of privacy is controlled and regulated in most countries by laws. Legislation for handling private data has been established in various jurisdictions. In the modern world, the massive use of computers generates a huge amount of private data and there is correspondingly an increased expectation to recognize and respect human rights in digital investigation. However, there does not exist a forensically sound model for protecting private data in the context of digital investigation, and it poses a threat to privacy if the investigation involves the processing of such kind of data. In this paper, we try to address this important issue and present a cryptographic model designed to be incorporated into the current digital investigation framework, thereby adding a possible way to protect data privacy in digital investigation. © 2011 IEEE.link_to_subscribed_fulltex

    As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, health systems have seen sudden and significant increases in the use of telehealth services.1 The Australian population has shared in this experience, with studies showing a rapid uptake of telehealth services.2 A high level of satisfaction with telehealth consultations in Australia has been reported, but some responders report reduced satisfaction compared to traditional face-to face consultations.

    Background: Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of telehealth has expanded rapidly. However, little is known about the impact of delivering care through telehealth on communication between clinicians and patients. At an interactional level, the ways in which clinicians establish rapport and connection with their patients in telehealth consultations is not well understood. Aim: This study will explore interactional practices of GPs and patients in telehealth consultations to develop evidence-based resources to improve communication. Design & setting: The study will be conducted within the Australian general practice setting. Method: Conversation analysis and sociolinguistic discourse analysis of recorded telehealth consultations will provide direct evidence of specific elements contributing to successful and less successful instances of telehealth communication. This analysis will be complemented by co-design techniques such as qualitative and reflective interviews, and collaborative workshops with telehealth users including both GPs and patients. Conclusion: Effective communication is critical for telehealth consultations and is central to achieving optimal clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Evidence-based guidelines encompassing effective telehealth communication strategies will be co-developed with end-users in this study

    The Local Optima Level in Chemotherapy Schedule Optimisation

    In this paper a multi-drug Chemotherapy Schedule Optimisation Problem (CSOP) is subject to Local Optima Network (LON) analysis. LONs capture global patterns in fitness landscapes. CSOPs have not previously been subject to fitness landscape analysis. We fill this gap: LONs are constructed and studied for meaningful structure. The CSOP formulation presents novel challenges and questions for the LON model because there are infeasible regions in the fitness landscape and an unknown global optimum; it also brings a topic from healthcare to LON analysis. Two LON Construction algorithms are proposed for sampling CSOP fitness landscapes: a Markov-Chain Construction Algorithm and a Hybrid Construction Algorithm. The results provide new insight into LONs of highly-constrained spaces, and into the proficiency of search operators on the CSOP. Iterated Local Search and Memetic Search, which are the foundations for the LON algorithms, are found to markedly out-perform a Genetic Algorithm from the literature
