Fecundity of the snow-trout, Schizothorax plagiostomus (Heckel) from Garhwal Himalaya

    Get PDF
Absolute fecundity of Schizothorax plagiostomus varied from 3474 in a fish measuring 345 mm (T.L.) and weighing 315 g to 13916 in a fish measuring 540 mm (T.L.) and weighing 1370 g. The weight of the fish ovaries accounted for 7.02 to 17.78% of the total weight of the fish. The average number of eggs per kg weight of fish and per gram of ovary weight was found to be 10820 and 81 respectively. The fecundity per kg of body weight was found to be 11539. The relationships between fecundity and other parameters (fish length/fish weight/ovary weight/ovary volume/ovary length) and fish length-ovary weight and fish weight-ovary weight were also determined

Hydrazine complexes of the compositions M(N/sub 2/H/sub 4/)/sub 2/ (Picrate)/sub 2/ H/sub 2/O (where M = Mn (II), Ni (II), Cu(II) or Zn(II), Co (N/sup 2/H/sup 4/) (Picrate)/sub 2/, Ni(N/sub 2/H/sub 4/)/sub 3/ (Picrate)/sub 2/, Zn(N/sub 2/H/sub 4/)/sub 4/ (Picrate)/sub 2/, and M/sup '/(N/sub 2/H/sub 4/)/sub 2/ (Picramate)/sub 2/ (where M/sup '/ = Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) or Zn(II) have been prepared and characterized by analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic and infrared spectral data. Molar conductance of the soluble complexes indicate that they are non-electrolytes in THF. Magnetic susceptibility and electronic spectral data suggest that all the complexes are spin-free octahedral except Co(N/sub 2/H/sub 4/) (Picrate)/sub 2/ which is tetrahedral. Infrared spectral studies show that hydrazine behaves as a monodentate ligand in its complexes with metal picramates and as a bidentate bridging ligand in all complexes with metal (II) picrates, except Zn(N/sub 2/H/sub 4)/sub 4/ (Picrate)/sub 2/ where it is monodentate

Review of Various Power Conversion converter for battery Energy Storage Systems

The demand for safe and reliable electricity increases, our infrastructure continues to evolve and innovate in order to accommodate such growth. The advantages of energy storage can traverse power age, through transmission and dissemination, and right to clients. An energy storage framework is essential for pay of the active-power change; it can alleviate the unsettling influence and keep up the dependability of voltage and recurrence. Power conversion framework (PCS), as an interface between storage framework and open network, assumes an extraordinary job in accomplishing the power move between storage framework and open matrix. This paper summarize the different research dependent on power conversion converter for battery energy storage systems ebb and flow topologies and the control strategies ordinarily utilized in building under various working circumstances and prerequisites, and analyze their disparities and characters, which will helps in picking the PCS structures and control strategies

A hybrid multilevel converter for medium and high voltage applications

    Get PDF
This paper investigates the suitability of the hybrid multilevel converter for medium and high voltage application. The converter operation, modulation, and capacitor voltage balancing method are described in detail. The ability of the hybrid multilevel converter to operate with different modulation indices and load power factors is investigated. It has been established that the hybrid multilevel converter is capable of operating independent of load power factor. Operation with variable modulation index increases voltage stresses on the converter switches and does not alter the fundamental voltage magnitude as in all known voltage source converter topologies. The viability of the hybrid multilevel converter for medium and high voltage applications is confirmed by simulations

AbstractA novel Schiff base ligand (H2L) derived from the condensation of benzoyl hydrazine and salicylaldehyde and its metal complexes with Ru (III) ion has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, thermal analysis (TGA), conductance measurements, magnetic moments IR, UVā€“vis spectra. The complexes were given the formulae [Ru(L-H)Cl2(H2O)] (1), [Ru(L-H)Cl2(py)] (2), [Ru(L-H)Cl2(2-pic)] (3), [Ru(L-H)Cl2(3-pic)] (4), [Ru(L-H)Cl2(4-pic)] (5). Molar conductance in DMF (N,N-dimethyl formamide) solution indicates that the complexes are non-electrolytes. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that all the complexes are mononuclear and one-electron paramagnetic. Electronic spectral studies suggest six coordinate metal ions in its complexes. IR spectra reveal that H2L ligand coordinates in keto-form to ruthenium metal ion in its complexes. ESR studies of the complexes are also reported

Impact of WTO on Potato Export from India

    Get PDF
Attempts are being made to export potatoes from India since 1970s but the quantities exported have been negligible and variable in spite of the fact that Indian potatoes are technically excellent and moderately export competitive. With the liberalization of Indian economy and establishment of WTO it was expected that the WTO regime would increase the price level in the international market due to implementation of proposed heavy cut in agricultural subsidies by the developed countries and hence the export of potatoes from India may get a boost. Under this backdrop, the study has ascertained the effect of establishment of WTO on export of potatoes from India. The study has indicated a declining export competitiveness of Indian potatoes in the post-WTO era, which requires immediate attention of policymakers as well as researchers in India to improve the export competitiveness by increasing the productivity and decreasing the cost of production. A need has been emphasized on giving some export incentives and easing some of the major infrastructural bottlenecks. Frozen-potatoes export from India had depicted competitiveness in the post-WTO era which can be encouraged to capture the fast expanding market of the product. The potato export from India can be made stable by either encouraging big export houses in the potato export or establishing a Ć¢ā‚¬Å“Potato BoardĆ¢ā‚¬ to look into various aspects of potato export from the country.Agricultural and Food Policy,

    Electrocatalytic properties of La1-xCuxCoO3 (0 ā‰¤ x ā‰¤ 0.8) film electrodes prepared by Malic Acid sol-gel method at pH=3.75.

La-based Perovskite-type oxides with composition La1-xCuxCoO3 (0 ā‰¤ X ā‰¤ 0.8) have been synthesized by malic acid sol-gel low temperature route at pH 3.75. In each preparation, nitrate salts of lanthanum, copper, cobalt and malic acid were taken as starting material. The pH of the solution was adjusted by using ammonia solution. Techniques used to know the physical properties of the materials were scanning electron microscope (SEM) powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). All the electrochemical viza cyclic voltammetry, roughness factor and anodic polarization studies have been performed in three electrode single compartment glass cell. For the purpose, materials were transferred in the form of oxide film electrode on Ni conducting support. XRD data showed the formation of almost pure phase of the material with hexagonal crystal geometry. The cyclic voltammetric study showed that each oxide electrode exhibited a pair of redox peaks prior to the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The values of Tafel slope (78-90 mV decade-1) and reaction order (~ 1) indicate that each catalyst follows similar mechanistic path. The data of anodic polarization study shows that the substitution of Cu in place of La in the base oxide increases the electrocatalytic activity considerably. The value was found to be highest with 0.4 mol Cu substitution. Electrochemically active area of the material was determined in terms of roughness factor by recording the cyclic voltammograms at different scan rates in the potential region 0.0-0.1V. The roughness factor was observed to be highest with 0.2 mol Cu-substituted oxide
