Preliminary Results on the Empirical Applicability of the Tsallis Distribution in Elastic Hadron Scattering
We show that the proton-proton elastic differential cross section data at dip
position and beyond can be quite well described by a parametrization based on
the Tsallis distribution, with only five free fit parameters. Extrapolation of
the results obtained at 7 TeV to large momentum transfer, suggests that hadrons
may not behave as a black-disk at the asymptotic energy region.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure, version matching proceedings style, XII Hadron

Poisson Geometry in Constrained Systems
Constrained Hamiltonian systems fall into the realm of presymplectic
geometry. We show, however, that also Poisson geometry is of use in this
context.
For the case that the constraints form a closed algebra, there are two
natural Poisson manifolds associated to the system, forming a symplectic dual
pair with respect to the original, unconstrained phase space. We provide
sufficient conditions so that the reduced phase space of the constrained system
may be identified with a symplectic leaf in one of those. In the second class
case the original constrained system may be reformulated equivalently as an
abelian first class system in an extended phase space by these methods.
Inspired by the relation of the Dirac bracket of a general second class
constrained system to the original unconstrained phase space, we address the
question of whether a regular Poisson manifold permits a leafwise symplectic
embedding into a symplectic manifold. Necessary and sufficient for this is the
vanishing of the characteristic form-class of the Poisson tensor, a certain
element of the third relative cohomology.Comment: 41 pages, more detailed abstract in paper; v2: minor corrections and

Some new class of Chaplygin Wormholes
Some new class of Chaplygin wormholes are investigated in the framework of a
Chaplygin gas with equation of state , . Since
empty spacetime () does not follow Chaplygin gas, so the
interior Chaplygin wormhole solutions will never asymptotically flat. For this
reason, we have to match our interior wormhole solution with an exterior vacuum
solution i.e. Schwarzschild solution at some junction interface, say .
We also discuss the total amount of matter characterized by Chaplygin gas that
supplies fuel to construct a wormhole.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures, Accepted for publication in Mod.Phys.Lett.
c-axis transport and phenomenology of the pseudo-gap state in
We measure and analyze the resistivity of
crystals for different doping . We obtain the fraction of carrier
that do not participate to the c-axis
conductivity. All the curves collapse onto a universal curve
when plotted against a reduced temperature
. We find that at the superconducting
transition is doping independent. We also show that a magnetic field up
to 14 T does not affect the degree of localization in the (a,b) planes but
widens the temperature range of the x-scaling by suppressing the
superconducting phase coherence.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys.Rev.
