Odd Parity and Line Nodes in Heavy Fermion Superconductors
Group theory arguments have demonstrated that a general odd parity order
parameter cannot have line nodes in the presence of spin-orbit coupling. In
this paper, it is shown that these arguments do not hold on the
zone face of a hexagonal close packed lattice. In particular, three of the six
odd parity representations vanish identically on this face. This has potential
relevance to the heavy fermion superconductor .Comment: 5 pages, revte
Mixed-parity superconductivity in centrosymmetric crystals
A weak-coupling formalism for superconducting states possessing both singlet
(even parity) and triplet (odd parity) components of the order parameter in
centrosymmetric crystals is developed. It is shown that the quasiparticle
energy spectrum may be non-degenerate even if the triplet component is unitary.
The superconducting gap of a mixed-parity state may have line nodes in the
strong spin-orbit coupling limit. The pseudospin carried by the superconducting
electrons is calculated, from which follows a prediction of a kink anomaly in
the temperature dependence of muon spin relaxation rate. The anomaly occurs at
the phase boundary between the bare triplet and mixed-parity states. The
stability of mixed-parity states is discussed within Ginzburg-Landau theory.

Pairing symmetry and long range pair potential in a weak coupling theory of superconductivity
We study the superconducting phase with two component order parameter
scenario, such as, , where . We show, that in absence of orthorhombocity, the usual
does not mix with usual symmetry gap in an anisotropic band
structure. But the symmetry does mix with the usual d-wave for . The d-wave symmetry with higher harmonics present in it also mixes with
higher order extended wave symmetry. The required pair potential to obtain
higher anisotropic and extended s-wave symmetries, is derived by
considering longer ranged two-body attractive potential in the spirit of tight
binding lattice. We demonstrate that the dominant pairing symmetry changes
drastically from to like as the attractive pair potential is obtained
from longer ranged interaction. More specifically, a typical length scale of
interaction , which could be even/odd multiples of lattice spacing leads
to predominant wave symmetry. The role of long range interaction on
pairing symmetry has further been emphasized by studying the typical interplay
in the temperature dependencies of these higher order and wave pairing

Critical currents in Josephson junctions, with unconventional pairing symmetry: versus
Phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau theory is used to calculate the possible
spontaneous vortex states that may exist at corner junctions of
-wave, (where or ) and s-wave superconductors.
We study the magnetic flux and the critical current modulation with the
junction orientation angle , the magnitude of the order parameter, and
the magnetic field . It is seen that the critical current versus the
magnetic flux relation is symmetric / asymmetric for when
the orientation is exactly such that the lobes of the dominant
-wave order parameter points towards the two junctions, which are
at right angles for the corner junction. The conclusion is that a measurement
of the relation may distinguish which symmetry ( or

Heat Transport and the Nature of the Order Parameter in Superconducting
Recent thermal conductivity data on the heavy fermion superconductor
have been interpreted as offering support for an model of the order
parameter as opposed to an model. In this paper, we analyze this issue
from a theoretical standpoint including the detailed effects of Fermi surface
and gap anisotropy. Our conclusion is that although current data put strong
constraints on the gap anisotropy, they cannot definitively distinguish between
these two models. Measurements on samples of varying quality could be decisive

Este trabalho tem como objetivo relatar os aspectos comportamentais de nidificação, alimentação e desenvolvimento dos ninhegos de Rhinoptynx clamator (Strigidae) em um fragmento florestal no Campus Marco Zero da Universidade Federal do Amapá. Apenas um ninho foi encontrado, no solo e na base de um tucumã Astrocaryum oleatum. Três ovos brancos com manchas marrons foram observados, cuja medida foi de 41 x 35 mm em média. A incubação durou 28 dias e foi efetuada pela fêmea, e o último filhote a nascer viveu apenas dois dias. Os filhotes sobreviventes foram medidos durante o seu desenvolvimento. Durante a estação reprodutiva foram coletadas algumas pelotas de regurgitação, sendo encontrados três tipos de vertebrados: Rattus sp., Micoureus cf. regina e Columbina talpacoti.<br>We report nesting behavior, feeding and development of nestling of Rhinoptynx clamator (Strigidae) in a forest fragment on Campus Marco Zero of Universidade Federal do Amapá. The nest was located on the ground, close to a palm Astrocaryum oleatum and three eggs were observed. These eggs were white whit brown spots and measured 41 x 35 mm in average. Incubation was made by female and lasted 28 days and the last owlet died two days after born. The remaining birds were measured during its development. Feeding items includes Rattus sp., Micoureus cf. regina and Columbina talpacoti
