In broilerchickens, selection and management practices that support growth have beencaused by selection, in terms of growth rate and carcass yield, and somewelfare problems. The main welfare problems in broiler chickens are caused bygenetic and environmental problems. We can classify high growth rate, diseases, contact dermatitis, skeletal problems and locomotor activity as geneticproblems, and stocking density, litter, air quality, light, feeding, feedmanagement and breeding equipment as environmental problems. The latest studyon the implementation of the 2007/43/EC directive on broiler chickens and thecare and management practices addressing welfare-health issues were reported inthe European Parliament council in 2018. The report found that controls basedon foot pad dermatitis monitoring and scoring in chickens were the mosteffective method for improving animal welfare. It has been reported that moretechnical applications such as ventilation, which particularly affect thewelfare of broilers, are still a problem. As a result; In order to improve thehealth of broiler chickens and the quality and biosafety of livestock products, the issue of welfare should not be underestimated and the most appropriatestandards should be provided. Turkey must be made as soon as possible solutionsto the problem of the welfare of broilers and standards. Otherwise, it mayresult in problems related to food safety, the integration of the broilerindustry to international standards, and a new obstacle in the export ofrelated products. This review was made to give information about studies on thepurpose of determining the genetic and environmental problems affecting welfareconditions in broiler chickens and bringing standards to welfare problems.

The British public atitude survey regarding inflation and interest rates

The importance of achieving the price stability objective consists in remaining the inflation expectations close to the inflation target in the medium term. As part of its price stability objective, the Bank of England has the task of achieving a 2% inflation target, measured by the annual change in the consumer price index. Regarding these facts, the inflation expectations play a key role in the household and business decision because the inflation expectations are very important for the wage negotiation, and because inflation expectations play an important role in household’s savings decisions. In this article we focus upon the Bank of England / GfK NOP Attitude Survey. The first section deals with some aspects as: the random location, the sample design, the selection of the respondents and the confidence limits for observed survey data. The second section debates the latest trends in household inflation perceptions and expectations. The final section summarizes the public’s attitudes to interest rates and the conduct of the monetary policy.price stability, inflation risk, inflation expectations

    Great imitator — ocular syphilis

We examined a 44-year-old woman without any known systemic disease with a decreased vision of a month duration in her left eye. She had undergone left uneventful cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation elsewhere 14 years ago. On examination, her Snellen visual acuity was 1.0 (with the correction of –0.50–0.25 × 120) in the right eye and 0.4 (with the correction of +0.75–2.25 × 115) in the left. There was left hypochromic heterochromia. While the right anterior segment was unremarkable, there were small to medium-sized keratic precipitates, 3+ anterior chamber cells, a posterior chamber intraocular lens with an intact posterior capsule, and a few vitreous cells in the left eye. Fundus autofluorescence imaging revealed peripapillary hyperautofluorescence in the left eye, and fluorescein angiography revealed a marked optic nerve head and perivascular leakage at the posterior pole. The findings were not compatible with Fuchs uveitis, so the full infectious panel was worked out. Serologic investigations yielded the presence of syphilis, and the patient was treated successfully with systemic antibiotics. Our case demonstrates the mimicking nature of ocular syphilis and the importance of high clinical suspicion when reaching the correct diagnosis

The nationwide small ruminant breeding project under the breeder condition has been started in the year of 2005. The project planned to solve some of the problems related with small ruminant breeding system. Especially, to find the solution for inadequate productivity, lack of organisation, insufficient collaborations, low education, and unreliable registration system were the main parts of the mentioned project. Project planned with sub-projects according to districts and breeds. At the beginning, project started with sheep flocks, and then goats were included. Local sheep and goats associations were involved the project. Project personals were chosen and educated according to project rules. Also, meetings were organised with the selected breeders and the breeders were informed about the projects and their duties. In our region we were examined the goat flocks from the year of 2011 to at the end of 2016. During the period of the project some increases on the live weights of the animals have been detected. Also, breeders directly or indirectly had education about their job. At the end of the scheme, some of the positive effects of the project have been observed on the lives of breeders, goats, collaborations and market situations. The nationwide small ruminant breeding project under the breeder condition has been started in the year of 2005.
