A number of trinuclear complexes with hexadentate Schiff base ligand H2L= (a condensation product of diacetylbis p-phenylendiamine and salicylaldehyde ) have been prepared . The synthesized complexes having formula [ M2M- (H2L)2 Cl4]Cl2 and [M2M- (L)2]Cl2 ; where M = Co(II) , Ni(II) , Cu(II) and M- = Zn(II) , Cd(II) , Hg(II) . H2L and L the neutral and dibasic forms of Schiff base . The complexes were prepared by the reaction of metal chloride with the ligand in both neutral and basic media . The ligand and its complexes were studies by means of chemical physical and spectral methods. These studies were revealed that the Schiff base act as neutral hexadentate and dibasic hexadentate ligand coordinated through the azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen atoms in neutral and basic media .These studies suggested an octahedral geometry or square planar for two side metal ions in neutral and basic media respectively; The central metal atom is tetra – coordination in all complexes

The Lower Jurassic Silisiclastic-Carbonate Succession of Western Iraq consist(from bottom to up) of Ubaid, Hussiniyat, and Amij succession. They were deposited within a variety of continental, transitional and marine environments. Microfacies analysis of the Ubaid Formation reflect deposition in different environments within the carbonate platform. Lithofacies analysis of the clastic unit of the Hussiniyat Formation reflect deposition within a meandering river system, the Coastal plain facies can also be recognized within the lower part of the upper carbonate unit. The Amij succession consist of a lower clastic unit with few carbonate interbeds and an upper carbonate unit. This succession consist of a wide range of lithofacies reflecting the different subenvironments of fluvial, transitional and shallow marine environments. The activity of the Rutba uplift and Anah Graben during the Early Jurassic greatly affected the paleogeography of the basin in the study are

Abnormal birth weight, particularly low birth weight (LBW), is known to have long-term adverse health consequences in adulthood, with disrupted sleep being suggested as a mediator or modifier of this link. We thus aimed to assess the associations between birth weight and self-reported adult sleep characteristics: sleep duration, difficulty waking up in the morning, daily nap frequency, sleep problems at night, snoring, daytime tiredness or sleepiness, and ever-stop breathing during sleep. This cross-sectional analysis used the United Arab Emirates Healthy Future Study data collected from February 2016 to March 2023 involving 2124 Emiratis aged 18–61 years. We performed a Poisson regression under unadjusted and age-sex-and-BMI-adjusted models to obtain the risk ratio and its 95% confidence interval for our analysis of the association between birth weight and each adult sleep characteristics, compared to individuals with normal birth weight (≥2.5 kg). Those with LBW had significantly a 17% increased risk of difficulty waking up in the morning, compared to those with normal birth weight. In addition, females with LBW history were also at an increased risk of reporting difficulty waking up in the morning. Studies with objective sleep assessments that include measurements of more confounding factors are recommended to confirm these risks

© 2020 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland. The coronavirus disease is still spreading in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with subsequent lockdowns and social distancing measures being enforced by the government. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of the lockdown on eating habits and lifestyle behaviors among residents of the UAE. A cross-sectional study among adults in the UAE was conducted using an online questionnaire between April and May 2020. A total of 1012 subjects participated in the study. During the pandemic, 31% reported weight gain and 72.2% had less than eight cups of water per day. Furthermore, the dietary habits of the participants were distanced from the Mediterranean diet principles and closer to “unhealthy” dietary patterns. Moreover, 38.5% did not engage in physical activity and 36.2% spent over five hours per day on screens for entertainment. A significantly higher percentage of participants reported physical exhaustion, emotional exhaustion, irritability, and tension “all the time” during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic (p \u3c 0.001). Sleep disturbances were prevalent among 60.8% of the participants during the pandemic. Although lockdowns are an important safety measure to protect public health, results indicate that they might cause a variety of lifestyle changes, physical inactivity, and psychological problems among adults in the UAE

Applications of Optical Frequency Combs in Microwave Photonics and Quantum Optics

Remarkable miniaturization of optical frequency combs was achieved using integrated microring resonators based on the Kerr nonlinearity. Operated below the parametric instability threshold, such microrings can generate high-dimensionally entangled biphoton frequency combs. To process such states, we encode qudits in the time and frequency degree of freedom of a single photon and experimentally demonstrate a deterministic high-dimensional 16 ×16 SUM gate. We then operate this gate on two frequency-bin entangled photons–each carrying two 32-dimensional qudits–to generate a two-photon four-party Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state. Subsequently, we utilize single-photon encoding concepts to demonstrate the first qutrit-based phase implementation of the quantum phase estimation algorithm – a key subroutine of several important algorithms – and successfully retrieve the eigenphase with one ternary digit of precision. Lastly, by manipulating the input state using an electro-optic phase modulator, we implement a tunable frequency-domain quantum walk demonstrating ballistic energy transport and energy bound states. These demonstrations highlight the potential of frequency-domain encoding and processing using well-established tools developed for the communication industry. The second part of this thesis focuses on the microwave photonic applications of frequency combs. Using dual electro-optic combs, we exploit the Vernier effect to develop an optical-based radio-frequency subsampled link and derive a detailed analytical model identifying a third-order limited operational point. In a second demonstration, we use Kerr combs to mitigate detrimental stimulated Brillouin scattering effects in long-haul analog optical links. Using both dark pulses and solitons in a sampled analog link, we perform thorough measurements of the analog link metrics to compare their performance and study the effect of the combs’ conversion efficiency. Finally, we report on our progress towards integrating atomic-optical clocks, where we experimentally generate on-chip octavespanning solitons and discuss a novel Vernier division scheme to readout the comb’s large repetition rate. To address challenges imposed by the low comb-line powers, we propose a comb stabilization scheme that utilizes the clock laser for the nonlinear frequency mixing operations, relieving the need for external lasers or amplifiers

One hundred high vaginal swabs were collected from patients who did checking in private labs, different types of pathogenic bacteria were isolated from (40) cases. Such isolates included: S.aureus (12) ,St.pyogens (11) ,E.coli (8) ,N.gonorrhoeae (4) ,Pr.mirabilis (3) , and Ps.aeruginosa (2) . Sensitivity test was used to check the sensitivity of such isolates. Post coital test (PCT) was used for (25) vaginal discharges ,(10) of them were chosen for examination because of presence of pus cells , bacteria , monillia and the presence of very low percentage of spermatozoa or non at all. Seminal fluid analysis was done for the husbands whose wives had been checked before and the results showed the majority of the males were suffering from physiological and pathological problems ( low percentage of spermatozoa , low percentage of normal shape of spermatozoa and low percentage of the actively motile on
