Appearance and disappearance of superconductivity in SmFe1-xNixAsO (x = 0.0 to 1.0)
Bulk polycrystalline Ni-substituted SmFe1-xNixAsO (x = 0.0 to 1.0) samples
are synthesized by solid state reaction route in an evacuated sealed quartz
tube. The cell volume decreases with increase of Ni content in SmFe1-xNixAsO,
thus indicating successful substitution of smaller ion Ni at Fe site. The
resistivity measurements showed that the spin-density-wave (SDW) transition is
suppressed drastically with Ni doping and subsequently superconductivity is
achieved in a narrow range of x from 0.04 to 0.10 with maximum Tc of 9K at x =
0.06. For higher content of Ni (x > 0.10), the system becomes metallic and
superconductivity is not observed down to 2K. The magneto-transport [R(T)H]
measurements exhibited the upper critical field [Hc2(0)] of up to 300kOe. The
flux flow activation energy (U/kB) is estimated ~98.37K for 0.1T field.
Magnetic susceptibility measurements also confirms bulk superconductivity for x
= 0.04, 0.06 and 0.08 samples. The lower critical field (Hc1) is around 100Oe
at 2K for x = 0.06 sample. Heat capacity CP(T) measurements exhibited a hump
like transition pertaining to SDW in Fe planes at around 150K and an AFM
ordering of Sm spins below temperature of 5.4K for ordered Sm spins [TN(Sm)].
Though, the SDW hump for Fe spins disappears for Ni doped samples, the TN (Sm)
remains unaltered but with a reduced transition height, i.e., decreased
entropy. In conclusion, complete phase diagram of SmFe1-xNixAsO (x = 0.0 to
1.0) is studied in terms of its structural, electrical, magnetic and thermal
properties.Comment: 18 pages text + Figures; comments suggestions welcome

Gauss-Bonnet Black Holes in dS Spaces
We study the thermodynamic properties associated with black hole horizon and
cosmological horizon for the Gauss-Bonnet solution in de Sitter space. When the
Gauss-Bonnet coefficient is positive, a locally stable small black hole appears
in the case of spacetime dimension , the stable small black hole
disappears and the Gauss-Bonnet black hole is always unstable quantum
mechanically when . On the other hand, the cosmological horizon is
found always locally stable independent of the spacetime dimension. But the
solution is not globally preferred, instead the pure de Sitter space is
globally preferred. When the Gauss-Bonnet coefficient is negative, there is a
constraint on the value of the coefficient, beyond which the gravity theory is
not well defined. As a result, there is not only an upper bound on the size of
black hole horizon radius at which the black hole horizon and cosmological
horizon coincide with each other, but also a lower bound depending on the
Gauss-Bonnet coefficient and spacetime dimension. Within the physical phase
space, the black hole horizon is always thermodynamically unstable and the
cosmological horizon is always stable, further, as the case of the positive
coefficient, the pure de Sitter space is still globally preferred. This result
is consistent with the argument that the pure de Sitter space corresponds to an
UV fixed point of dual field theory.Comment: Rextex, 17 pages including 8 eps figures, v2: minor changes, to

Efficacy and safety of weekly carfilzomib (70 mg/m2), dexamethasone, and daratumumab (KdD70) is comparable to twice-weekly KdD56 while being a more convenient dosing option : a cross-study comparison of the CANDOR and EQUULEUS studies
The regimen of carfilzomib, daratumumab, and dexamethasone (KdD) shows activity in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. KdD at the twice-weekly 56 mg/m carfilzomib dose (KdD56) was used in the randomized phase 3 CANDOR study (NCT03158688), whereas KdD at the once-weekly 70 mg/m carfilzomib dose (KdD70) was used in the phase 1 b EQUULEUS study (NCT01998971). We analyzed efficacy data from comparable CANDOR and EQUULEUS patients using inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW)-adjusted models. These weights were calculated from propensity scores derived to balance prespecified baseline covariates. The side-by-side and adjusted comparisons showed similar efficacy for overall response rates and progression-free survival in the two groups, with a series of sensitivity analyses showing consistent findings. Safety data were generally consistent with the known safety profiles of each individual drug. Once-weekly KdD70 is comparable to twice-weekly KdD56 in terms of efficacy and safety while being a more convenient dosing option
Confront Holographic QCD with Regge Trajectories of vectors and axial-vectors
We derive the general 5-dimension metric structure of the system in
type II superstring theory, and demonstrate the physical meaning of the
parameters characterizing the 5-dimension metric structure of the
\textit{holographic} QCD model by relating them to the parameters describing
Regge trajectories. By matching the spectra of vector mesons with
deformed soft-wall model, we find that the spectra of vector mesons
can be described very well in the soft-wall model, i.e,
soft-wall model. We then investigate how well the soft-wall
model can describe the Regge trajectory of axial-vector mesons . We find
that the constant component of the 5-dimension mass square of axial-vector
mesons plays an efficient role to realize the chiral symmetry breaking in the
vacuum, and a small negative correction in the 5-dimension mass square is
helpful to realize the chiral symmetry restoration in high excitation states.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure and 3 tables, one section adde
Measurements of the observed cross sections for exclusive light hadron production in e^+e^- annihilation at \sqrt{s}= 3.773 and 3.650 GeV
By analyzing the data sets of 17.3 pb taken at GeV
and 6.5 pb taken at GeV with the BESII detector at the
BEPC collider, we have measured the observed cross sections for 12 exclusive
light hadron final states produced in annihilation at the two energy
points. We have also set the upper limits on the observed cross sections and
the branching fractions for decay to these final states at 90%

A Measurement of Psi(2S) Resonance Parameters
Cross sections for e+e- to hadons, pi+pi- J/Psi, and mu+mu- have been
measured in the vicinity of the Psi(2S) resonance using the BESII detector
operated at the BEPC. The Psi(2S) total width; partial widths to hadrons,
pi+pi- J/Psi, muons; and corresponding branching fractions have been determined
to be Gamma(total)= (264+-27) keV; Gamma(hadron)= (258+-26) keV, Gamma(mu)=
(2.44+-0.21) keV, and Gamma(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (85+-8.7) keV; and Br(hadron)=
(97.79+-0.15)%, Br(pi+pi- J/Psi)= (32+-1.4)%, Br(mu)= (0.93+-0.08)%,
respectively.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure
Search for the Rare Decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e, J/Psi --> D- e+ nu_e, and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e-
We report on a search for the decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c., J/Psi -->
D- e+ nu_e + c.c., and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e- + c.c. in a sample of 5.8 * 10^7

above background is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the
branching fractions are set: B(J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c.)<4.8*10^-5, B(J/Psi
--> D- e+ nu_e + c.c.) D0bar e+ e- + c.c.)<1.1*10^-5Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure

the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC), the decay channels psi(2S)->p
