    Get PDF
In the experiment with the SND detector at VEPP-2M e^+e^- collider the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 was studied in the energy range 2E_0 from 1.04 to 1.38 GeV. A broad peak was observed with the visible mass Mvis=1220±20M_{vis}=1220\pm 20 MeV and cross section in the maximum σ04\sigma_0\simeq 4 nb. The peak can be interpreted as a ω\omega-like resonance ω(1200)\omega (1200).Comment: 10 pages LATEX and 5 figure

    Momentum Dependent Vertices σγγ\sigma \gamma \gamma, σργ\sigma \rho \gamma and σρρ\sigma \rho \rho : The NJL Scalar Hidden by Chiral Symmetry

We calculate the momentum dependence of three particle vertices σγγ\sigma \gamma \gamma, σργ\sigma \rho \gamma and σρρ\sigma \rho \rho in the context of a Nambu Jona Lasinio type model. We show how they influence the processes γγσππ\gamma \gamma \rightarrow \sigma \rightarrow \pi \pi, ργσ\rho \rightarrow \gamma \sigma and γγρρ\gamma \gamma \rightarrow \rho \rho and how chiral symmetry shadows the presence of the σ\sigma.Comment: 9 pages (latex), 5 figures available from the authors, preprint Coimbra 940506, IJS-TP-94/10, accepted for publication in Zeit. f. Search for direct production of a2(1320) and f2(1270) mesons in e+e- annihilation

A search for direct production of C-even resonances a2(1320) and f2(1270) in e+e- annihilation was performed with SND detector at VEPP-2M e+e- collider. The upper limits of electronic widths of these mesons were obtained at 90% confidence level: Gamma(a2(1320) \to e+e-) < 0.56 eV, Gamma(f2(1270) \to e+e-) < 0.11 eV.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 1 table. Analysis of the nature of the ϕγπη\phi\to\gamma\pi\eta and ϕγπ0π0\phi\to\gamma\pi^0\pi^0 decays

We study interference patterns in the ϕ(γa0+π0ρ)γπη\phi\to(\gamma a_0+\pi^0\rho)\to\gamma\pi\eta and ϕ(γf0+π0ρ)γπ0π0\phi\to(\gamma f_0+\pi^0\rho)\to\gamma \pi^0\pi^0 reactions. Taking into account the interference, we fit the experimental data and show that the background reaction does not distort the π0η\pi^0\eta spectrum in the decay ϕγπη\phi\to\gamma\pi\eta everywhere over the energy region and does not distort the π0π0\pi^0\pi^0 spectrum in the decay ϕγπ0π0\phi\to\gamma\pi^0\pi^0 in the wide region of the π0π0\pi^0\pi^0 system invariant mass, mππ>670m_{\pi\pi}>670 MeV, or when the photon energy is less than 300 MeV. We discuss the details of the scalar meson production in the radiative decays and note that there are reasonable arguments in favor of the one-loop mechanism ϕK+Kγa0\phi\to K^+K^-\to\gamma a_0 and ϕK+Kγf0\phi\to K^+K^-\to\gamma f_0. We discuss also distinctions between the four-quark, molecular, and two-quark models and argue that the Novosibirsk data give evidence in favor of the four-quark nature of the scalar a0(980)a_0(980) and f0(980)f_0(980) mesons.Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures, title is changed, a few clarifying remarks are added, accepted for publication in Physical Review

Experimental study of the e+e- -> pi0 gamma process in the energy region sqrt(s)=0.60-0.97 GeV

    Get PDF
Results of the study of the e+e-->pi0 gamma process with SND detector at VEPP-2M collider in the c.m.s. energy range sqrt(s)=0.60-0.97 GeV are presented. Using 36513 selected events corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 3.4 pb^-1 the e+e-->pi0 gamma cross section was measured. The energy dependence of the cross section was analyzed in the framework of the vector meson dominance model. The data are well described by a sum of phi,omega,rho0->pi0 gamma decay contributions with measured decay probabilities: Br(omega->pi0 gamma)=(9.34+-0.15+-0.31)% and Br(rho0->pi0 gamma)=(5.15+-1.16+-0.73)*10^-4 . The rho-omega relative interference phase is phi(rho,omega}=(-10.2+-6.5+-2.5) degree

Electromagnetic form factors of charged and neutral kaons in an extended vector-meson-dominance model

    Get PDF
A model is developed for electromagnetic form factors of the charged and neutral K-mesons. The formalism is based on ChPT Lagrangians with vector mesons. The form factors, calculated without fitting parameters, are in a good agreement with experiment for space-like and time-like photon momenta. Contribution of the two-kaon channels to the muon anomalous magnetic moment a_\mu is calculated.Comment: 23 pages, 11 figures, accepted for publication in Eur. Phys. J.

Study of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 0.98 GeV

The cross section of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 was measured in the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 980 MeV. This measurement was based on about 1.2×1061.2 \times 10^6 selected events. The obtained cross section was analyzed together with the SND and DM2 data in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} up to 2 GeV. The ω\omega-meson parameters: mω=782.79±0.08±0.09m_\omega=782.79\pm 0.08\pm 0.09 MeV, Γω=8.68±0.04±0.15\Gamma_\omega=8.68\pm 0.04\pm 0.15 MeV and σ(ω3π)=1615±9±57\sigma(\omega\to 3\pi)=1615\pm 9\pm 57 nb were obtained. It was found that the experimental data cannot be described by a sum of only ω\omega, ϕ\phi, ω\omega^\prime and ω\omega^{\prime\prime} resonances contributions. This can be interpreted as a manifestation of ρ3π\rho\to 3\pi decay, suppressed by GG-parity, with relative probability B(ρ3π)=(1.01±0.360.54±0.034)×104B(\rho\to 3\pi) = (1.01\pm^{0.54}_{0.36}\pm 0.034) \times 10^{-4}.Comment: 41 pages REVTEX and 34 figure
