Two calibration models for compensation of the individual elements properties of self-emitting displays

In this paper, we examine the applicability limits of different methods of compensation of the individual properties of self-emitting displays with significant non-uniformity of chromaticity and maximum brightness. The aim of the compensation is to minimize the perceived image non-uniformity. Compensation of the displayed image non-uniformity is based on minimizing the perceived distance between the target (ideally displayed) and the simulated image displayed by the calibrated screen. The S-CIELAB model of the human visual system properties is used to estimate the perceived distance between two images. In this work, we compare the efficiency of the channel-wise and linear (with channel mixing) compensation models depending on the models of variation in the characteristics of display elements (subpixels). It was found that even for a display with uniform chromatic subpixels characteristics, the linear model with channel mixing is superior in terms of compensation accuracy. This work was supported by Russian Science Foundation (Project No. 20-61-47089)

We report the results of monitoring of cosmic rays and geomagnetic field along 210 magnetic meridians in Yakutia in the first half of September 2017. The energy spectrum of solar cosmic rays during Ground Level Enhancement in September 10, 2017 is estimated as J=3027E–1.99exp(–E/729 MeV). We present the results of the forecast and complex analysis of the magnetic storm on September 7–9, 2017 with Dst=–124 nT. The forecast lead time is about one day. We examine how the storm affected the electric potential and VLF signal propagation from RSDN-20 radio navigation stations. Irregular Pi3–Pi1 pulsations occurred during the September 8, 2017 magnetic storm from 12 to 20 UT. The pulsations were accompanied by variations in electrotelluric potentials and geomagnetic fields with the correlation coefficient between them ρ(E, H)=0.5÷0.9. The effects of the magnetic storm manifested themselves as an increase in the attenuation and a decrease in the phase delay of VLF radio signals

Integrable systems on the sphere associated with genus three algebraic curves

New variables of separation for few integrable systems on the two-dimensional sphere with higher order integrals of motion are considered in detail. We explicitly describe canonical transformations of initial physical variables to the variables of separation and vice versa, calculate the corresponding quadratures and discuss some possible integrable deformations of initial systems.Comment: 19 pages, LaTeX with AMS font

The first lasing near the wavelength of 140 µm was achieved in April 2003 using a high-power free electron laser (FEL) constructed at the Siberian Center for Photochemical Research. In this paper we briefly describe the design of the FEL driven by an accelerator–recuperator. Characteristics of the electron beam and terahertz laser radiation, obtained in the first experiments, are also presented in the paper. Simulation of the polymerization process of butadiene per neodymium catalytic system

A mathematical model for the synthesis of butadiene rubber in a continuous reactor under the action of a neodymium-containing catalyst system is constructed. The mechanism of the process is identified. The mathematical model is a system of ordinary differential equations, whose dimension tends to infinity, in view of the infinite number of reaction components. Applying the method of statistical moments, an infinite system of differential equations reduces to a system with a finite number of equations and becomes solvable. The numerical solution of the finite system allows us to determine the average molecular characteristics of the process.Исследование выполнено при финансовой поддержке РФФИ 17-47-020068 и Правительства Республики Башкортостан в рамках научного проекта No 13.5143.2017/БЧ

Heliospheric modulation of cosmic rays: model and observation

    No full text
This paper presents the basic model of cosmic ray modulation in the heliosphere, developed in Yu.G. Shafer Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The model has only one free modulation parameter: the ratio of the regular magnetic field to the turbulent one. It may also be applied to the description of cosmic ray intensity variations in a wide energy range from 100 MeV to 100 GeV. Possible mechanisms of generation of the turbulent field are considered. The primary assumption about the electrical neutrality of the heliosphere appears to be wrong, and the zero potential needed to match the model with observations in the solar equatorial plane can be achieved if the frontal point of the heliosphere, which is flowed around by interstellar gas, lies near the plane. We have revealed that the abnormal rise of cosmic ray intensity at the end of solar cycle 23 is related to the residual modulation produced by the subsonic solar wind behind the front of a standing shock wave. The model is used to describe features of cosmic ray intensity variations in several solar activity cycles
