    The structural and parametrical organization of elements of a power supply system in the conditions of network centrism

    Purpose. Development of indicators of the structural and parametrical organization of effective active and adaptive system of service of power supply systems in the conditions of ideology of Smart Grid. Methodology. In the conditions of application of ideology of Smart Grid for increase of intellectualization of electrical power system there is a need of introduction of the principle of a network centrism in the structural and parametrical organization of elements of power supply systems that involves performance of conditions on implementation of provisions of the principle of Situational Awareness. The essence of this principle consists in that, information on a condition of system has to be presented in the form convenient for the analysis, recognition, transfer, distribution and storage, to be coordinated for flexible and optimum development at the subsystem and object-by-object levels. Results. Structural and parametrical optimization of elements of power supply systems in the conditions of a network centrism and the concept of SG involves use of provisions of the theory of systems and concepts of multicriteria optimizing synthesis. It is offered to use the modified adaptive indicator of the generalizing effect of synthesis of structure of active and adaptive system of service of power supply systems in the form of a difference of the generalizing effects: the introduced option of structure of system and basic. Originality. Introduction of an adaptive indicator of synthesis of system of service of power supply systems considers the concept of Β«service of system on the basis of a responseΒ» in the presence of false and true refusals. Practical value. According to the results of the turbine research the method of determine the coefficients of the conversion function is proposed. In this paper experimental studies of the proposed method are conducted. Research results have shown the adequacy of the description of the transformation function and methods for determining the coefficients

    Temperature behavior of the magnon modes of the square lattice antiferromagnet

    A spin-wave theory of short-range order in the square lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet is formulated. With growing temperature from T=0 a gapless mode is shown to arise simultaneously with opening a gap in the conventional spin-wave mode. The spectral intensity is redistributed from the latter mode to the former. For low temperatures the theory reproduces results of the modified spin-wave theory by M.Takahashi, J.E.Hirsch et al. and without fitting parameters gives values of observables in good agreement with Monte Carlo results in the temperature range 0 <= T < 0.8J where J is the exchange constant.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure

    Pan-squamous genomic profiling stratified by anatomic tumor site and viral association

    Background: Squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) have diverse anatomic etiologies but may share common genomic biomarkers. We profiled 7,871 unique SCCs across nine anatomic sites to investigate commonality in genomic alterations (GA), tumor mutational burden (TMB), human papillomavirus (HPV) association, and mutational signatures. Methods: Tissue from over 8,100 unique SCC samples originating from nine anatomic sites (anogenital (anus, cervix, penis, vagina, vulva), esophagus, head and neck, lung, and skin) were sequenced by hybrid capture-based comprehensive genomic profiling to evaluate GA and TMB. About 3% of non-cutaneous SCC samples had UV signatures, indicative of potential primary site misdiagnoses, and were filtered from the analysis. Detection of HPV, including high-risk strains 16, 18, 31, 33, and 45, was implemented through de novo assembly of non-human sequencing reads and BLASTn comparison against all viral nucleotide sequences in the NCBI database. Results: The proportion of HPV+ patients by anatomic site varied, with the highest being anal (91%) and cervical (83%). The mutational landscape of each cohort was similar, regardless of anatomic origin, but clustered based on HPV status. The largest differences in GA frequency as stratified by HPV- vs. HPV+ were TP53 (87% vs. 12%), CDKN2A (45% vs. 6%), and PIK3CA (22% vs. 33%). The median TMB in cases originating from HPV-associated sites was similar, regardless of HPV status. Higher median TMB was observed in lung and skin cases, which exhibited significant enrichment of mutational signatures indicative of tobacco- and UV-induced DNA damage, respectively. Conclusions: HPV+ and HPV- SCC populations have distinct genomic profiles and, for the latter, anatomic site is correlated with TMB distribution, secondary to associated carcinogen exposure. As such, biomarkers such as TMB and UV signature can provide unexpected insight into site of origin misdiagnoses and may correlate with benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitors

    Crossover and scaling in a nearly antiferromagnetic Fermi liquid in two dimensions

    We consider two-dimensional Fermi liquids in the vicinity of a quantum transition to a phase with commensurate, antiferromagnetic long-range order. Depending upon the Fermi surface topology, mean-field spin-density-wave theory predicts two different types of such transitions, with mean-field dynamic critical exponents z=1z=1 (when the Fermi surface does not cross the magnetic zone boundary, type AA) and z=2z=2 (when the Fermi surface crosses the magnetic zone boundary, type BB). The type AA system only displays z=1z=1 behavior at all energies and its scaling properties are similar (though not identical) to those of an insulating Heisenberg antiferromagnet. Under suitable conditions precisely stated in this paper, the type BB system displays a crossover from relaxational behavior at low energies to type AA behavior at high energies. A scaling hypothesis is proposed to describe this crossover: we postulate a universal scaling function which determines the entire, temperature-, wavevector-, and frequency-dependent, dynamic, staggered spin susceptibility in terms of 4 measurable, T=0T=0, parameters (determining the distance, energy, and order parameter scales, plus one crossover parameter). The scaling function contains the full scaling behavior in all regimes for both type AA and BB systems. The crossover behavior of the uniform susceptibility and the specific heat is somewhat more complicated and is also discussed. Explicit computation of the crossover functions is carried out in a large NN expansion on a mean-field model. Some new results for the critical properties on the ordered side of the transition are also obtained in a spin-density wave formalism.     We discuss the crossover from the quantum critical, z ⁣= ⁣1z\!=\!1, to the quantum disordered regime in high-Tc_c materials in relation to the experimental data on the nuclear relaxation, bulk susceptibility, and inelastic neutron scattering. In our scenario, the spin excitations develop a gap Ξ”β€‰β£βˆΌβ€‰β£1/ΞΎ\Delta\!\sim\!1/\xi well above Tc_c, which is supplemented by the quasiparticle gap below Tc_c.     Spin Dependence of Correlations in Two-Dimensional Quantum Heisenberg Antiferromagnets

    We present a series expansion study of spin-S square-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnets. The numerical data are in excellent agreement with recent neutron scattering measurements. Our key result is that the correlation length for S>1/2 strongly deviates from the exact T->0 (renormalized classical, or RC) scaling prediction for all experimentally and numerically accessible temperatures. We note basic trends with S of the experimental and series expansion correlation length data and propose a scaling crossover scenario to explain them.Comment: 5 pages, REVTeX file.
