Pluri-Canonical Models of Supersymmetric Curves
This paper is about pluri-canonical models of supersymmetric (susy) curves.
Susy curves are generalisations of Riemann surfaces in the realm of super
geometry. Their moduli space is a key object in supersymmetric string theory.
We study the pluri-canonical models of a susy curve, and we make some

Open TURNS: An industrial software for uncertainty quantification in simulation
The needs to assess robust performances for complex systems and to answer
tighter regulatory processes (security, safety, environmental control, and
health impacts, etc.) have led to the emergence of a new industrial simulation
challenge: to take uncertainties into account when dealing with complex
numerical simulation frameworks. Therefore, a generic methodology has emerged
from the joint effort of several industrial companies and academic
institutions. EDF R&D, Airbus Group and Phimeca Engineering started a
collaboration at the beginning of 2005, joined by IMACS in 2014, for the
development of an Open Source software platform dedicated to uncertainty
propagation by probabilistic methods, named OpenTURNS for Open source Treatment
of Uncertainty, Risk 'N Statistics. OpenTURNS addresses the specific industrial
challenges attached to uncertainties, which are transparency, genericity,
modularity and multi-accessibility. This paper focuses on OpenTURNS and
presents its main features: openTURNS is an open source software under the LGPL
license, that presents itself as a C++ library and a Python TUI, and which
works under Linux and Windows environment. All the methodological tools are
described in the different sections of this paper: uncertainty quantification,
uncertainty propagation, sensitivity analysis and metamodeling. A section also
explains the generic wrappers way to link openTURNS to any external code. The
paper illustrates as much as possible the methodological tools on an
educational example that simulates the height of a river and compares it to the
height of a dyke that protects industrial facilities. At last, it gives an
overview of the main developments planned for the next few years
IGR J11215-5952: a hard X-ray transient displaying recurrent outbursts
The hard X-ray source IGRJ11215-5952 has been discovered with INTEGRAL during
a short outburst in 2005 and proposed as a new member of the class of
supergiant fast X-ray transients. We analysed INTEGRAL public observations of
the source field in order to search for previous outbursts from this transient,
not reported in literature.Our results are based on a systematic re-analysis of
INTEGRAL archival observations, using the latest analysis software and
instrument calibrations. We report the discovery of two previously unnoticed
outbursts, spaced by intervals of ~330 days, that occurred in July 2003 and May
2004. The 5-100keV spectrum is well described by a cut-off power law, with a
photon index of 0.5, and a cut-off energy ~15-20keV, typical of High Mass X-ray
Binaries hosting a neutron star. A 5-100keV luminosity of 3E36 erg/s has been
derived (assuming 6.2kpc, the distance of the likely optical counterpart). The
5-100keV spectral properties, the recurrent nature of the outbursts,together
with the reduced error region containing the blue supergiant star
HD306414,support the hypothesis that IGRJ11215-5952 is a member of the class of

Towards Cost-To-Performance Optimisation of Large Superfluid Helium Refrigeration Systems
The field range of superconducting devices may be extended by lowering their operating temperature, using superfluid helium refrigeration systems which have to deliver working pressures down to 1.6 kPa. The corresponding pressure ratio can be produced by integral cold compression or using a combination of cold compressors in series together with "warm" compressors at room temperature. The optimisation of such a system depends on the number, arrangement and characteristics of cold and warm machines as well as on the operating scenario and turndown capability. The aim of this paper is to compare relative investment and operating costs of different superfluid helium cryogenic systems, with the aim of optimising their cost-to-performance ratio within the constraints of their operating scenario
Imaging extended sources with coded mask telescopes: Application to the INTEGRAL IBIS/ISGRI instrument
Context. In coded mask techniques, reconstructed sky images are
pseudo-images: they are maps of the correlation between the image recorded on a
detector and an array derived from the coded mask pattern. Aims. The
INTEGRAL/IBIS telescope provides images where the flux of each detected source
is given by the height of the local peak in the correlation map. As such, it
cannot provide an estimate of the flux of an extended source. What is needed is
intensity sky images giving the flux per solide angle as typically done at
other wavelengths. Methods. In this paper, we present the response of the
INTEGRAL IBIS/ISGRI coded mask instrument to extended sources. We develop a
general method based on analytical calculations in order to measure the
intensity and the associated error of any celestial source and validated with
Monte-Carlo simulations. Results. We find that the sensitivity degrades almost
linearly with the source extent. Analytical formulae are given as well as an
easy-to-use recipe for the INTEGRAL user. We check this method on IBIS/ISGRI
data but these results are general and applicable to any coded mask telescope.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, Accepted for publication in A&
EGRET Observations of the Diffuse Gamma-Ray Emission in Orion: Analysis Through Cycle 6
We present a study of the high-energy diffuse emission observed toward Orion
by the Energetic Gamma-Ray Experiment Telescope (EGRET) on the Compton
Gamma-Ray Observatory. The total exposure by EGRET in this region has increased
by more than a factor of two since a previous study. A simple model for the
diffuse emission adequately fits the data; no significant point sources are
detected in the region studied ( to and ) in either the composite dataset or in two separate
groups of EGRET viewing periods considered. The gamma-ray emissivity in Orion
is found to be for E > 100 MeV,
and the differential emissivity is well-described as a combination of
contributions from cosmic-ray electrons and protons with approximately the

The faint 2005 hard state outburst of Aquila X-1 seen by INTEGRAL and RXTE
We report on the spectral analysis of RXTE and INTEGRAL data of the 2005
April outburst of the transient Atoll source Aql X-1. Although this outburst is
one of the faintest ever detected for this source in the soft X-rays
(RXTE/ASM), one of our INTEGRAL observations, taken close to the soft X-ray
peak, shows that the source flux was quite high, with a 20-200 keV flux of 2.05
x 10^-9 erg cm^-2 s^-1. On this occasion we detect the source up to 150 keV for
the first time. We compare and discuss the similarity of the source behavior
