Management of business process reengineering projects: a case study
Business process reengineering (BPR) projects are undertaken by outward-looking companies that are looking for significant change in their performance and wanting radical changes in the chosen parameters. Generally, these companies are trendsetters in their respective industries. BPR projects take longer time for completion and may require significant capital inflows as well. This paper discusses BPR, special requirements/considerations for BPR project management and, through a case analysis, seeks to identify and emphasise the critical success factors for the implementation of a BPR projec
Constructing a database of alien plants in the Himalaya to test patterns structuring diversity
Differences in the number of alien plant species in different locations may reflect climatic and other controls that similarly affect native species and/or propagule pressure accompanied with delayed spread from the point of introduction. We set out to examine these alternatives for Himalayan plants, in a phylogenetic framework. We build a database of alien plant distributions for the Himalaya. Focusing on the well-documented regions of Jammu & Kashmir (west) and Bhutan (east) we compare alien and native species for (1) richness patterns, (2) degree of phylogenetic clustering, (3) the extent to which species-poor regions are subsets of species-rich regions and (4) continental and climatic affinities/source. We document 1470 alien species (at least 600 naturalised), which comprise ~14% of the vascular plants known from the Himalaya. Alien plant species with tropical affinities decline in richness with elevation and species at high elevations form a subset of those at lower elevations, supporting location of introduction as an important driver of alien plant richness patterns. Separately, elevations which are especially rich in native plant species are also rich in alien plant species, suggesting an important role for climate (high productivity) in determining both native and alien richness. We find no support for the proposition that variance in human disturbance or numbers of native species correlate with alien distributions. Results imply an ongoing expansion of alien species from low elevation sources, some of which are highly invasive
Unified Angular Momentum of Dyons
Unified quaternionic angular momentum for the fields of dyons and
gravito-dyons has been developed and the commutation relations for dynamical
variables are obtained in compact and consistent manner. Demonstrating the
quaternion forms of unified fields of dyons (electromagnetic fields) and
gravito-dyons (gravito-Heavisidian fields of linear gravity), corresponding
quantum equations are reformulated in compact, simpler and manifestly covariant

LANDSLIDE HAZARD ZONATION IN AND AROUND KEDARNATH REGION AND ITS VALIDATION BASED ON REAL TIME KEDARNATH DISASTER USING GEOSPATIAL TECHNIQUES
Landslides are one of the frequently happening disasters in this hilly state of Uttarakhand which accounts to the loss of lives and property every year especially during the rainy season which lead to affect the families. With the development of satellite observation technique, advanced data analysis tool and new modeling techniques landslide hazard zonation map can be prepared. In the present study, Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) for Kedarnath to Augustmuni region of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state was carried out using Remote Sensing and GIS technique. For the preparation of LHZ map, year 2010 high resolution satellite data have been used. After preprocessing of the data various thematic layers are prepared in GIS environment. The weighted-rating system technique were used for the LHZ map showing the five zones, namely “very low hazard”, “low hazard”, “moderate hazard”, “high hazard” and “very high hazard” . This map has been validated after the tragedy of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, Total no. of 224 Landslides has been marked from Kedarnath to Augustmuni region just after the kedarnath tragedy in year 2013. When this landslides thematic layer is overlaid on LHZ, the study shows that approximately 50% landslides was there where in LHZ map high and very high hazard zones have been identified. After the tragedy our team workers have gone to the field, with the help of DGPS around 40 ground control points have been taken to validate our result. So by using this geospatial technique around 50% people’s life can be saved.</p
Quaternion Gravi-Electromagnetism
Defining the generalized charge, potential, current and generalized fields as
complex quantities where real and imaginary parts represent gravitation and
electromagnetism respectively, corresponding field equation, equation of motion
and other quantum equations are derived in manifestly covariant manner. It has
been shown that the field equations are invariant under Lorentz as well as
duality transformations. It has been shown that the quaternionic formulation
presented here remains invariant under quaternion transformations.Comment: Key Words: Quaternion, dyons, gravito-dyons, gravi-electromagnetism.

Generalized Gravi-Electromagnetism
A self consistant and manifestly covariant theory for the dynamics of four
charges (masses) (namely electric, magnetic, gravitational, Heavisidian) has
been developed in simple, compact and consistent manner. Starting with an
invariant Lagrangian density and its quaternionic representation, we have
obtained the consistent field equation for the dynamics of four charges. It has
been shown that the present reformulation reproduces the dynamics of individual
charges (masses) in the absence of other charge (masses) as well as the
generalized theory of dyons (gravito - dyons) in the absence gravito - dyons
(dyons). key words: dyons, gravito - dyons, quaternion PACS NO: 14.80H
