    Status of UCN Source at WWR-M Reactor

    The WWR-M reactor at PNPI is going to be equipped with an ultacold neutron source of high density. Method of UCN production is based on their accumulation in the super fluid helium due to particular qualities of that quantum liquid. The possibility of maintaining the temperature T = 1.371K with a thermal load of P = 60W was shown experimentally, while the theoretical load is expected to be P=30W. The project envisages the installation on UCN beams the experimental setups of various research projects such as searching for the nEDM, measure the neutron lifetime, and the observation of neutron to antineutron oscillation. In addition to UCN beams, three beams of cold and verycold neutrons are planned. Six experimental setups will be installed on these beams. At present, a vacuum container of the UCN source has been manufactured and the manufacture of low-temperature deuterium and helium parts of the source has been started

    Carried out is the analysis and assessment of epizootiologic and epidemiologic situation on brucellosis in the Russian Federation over the year 2013. It is demonstrated that on the grounds of tense epizootic situation there is a tendency to reduction in brucellosis morbidity rates among the population. Incidence rates in the North-Caucasian and Southern Federal districts remain high due to B. melitensis spp. brucellosis agent circulation. However, realization of a complex of brucellosis prophylactic measures in the territory of the Republic of Dagestan has resulted in a considerable reduction of a number of primary cases in the region. In addition, forecasted is stabilization of brucellosis morbidity rates among the population and farming animals in 2014, being estimated at 320-370 cases a year

    Given are the results of assessment of epidemiological and epizootiological situation on brucellosis in the Russian Federation in 2015. It is characterized as challenging. Compared to 2014 (368 cases, intensive index - 0.26), recorded is 5.1 % increase in the number of people infected with brucellosis (393 cases, intensive index - 0.27). The highest incidence rates among the population are registered in the North-Caucasian, Southern and Siberian Federal Districts, where the main source of infection is cattle and small ruminants. Revealed is a significant rise in brucellosis incidence in the Stavropol region too. External epidemiological risks, associated with the intensification of cooperation in the supply of livestock products from the Mediterranean countries, Middle East, and South America, which are endemic as regards cattle brucellosis, will remain pressing. Given the sustained adverse epidemiological and epizootic situation, taking into account the internal and external risks of infection with brucellosis, brucellosis incidence among the population is predicted to be within the range of 390-420 cases

    Supposing the electrochemical nature of the interaction of reducing gas (CO) with oxide melt containing transition metal ions, a kinetic equation is derived for calculation of the reduction process rate taking physical and chemical properties of the contacting phases. Satisfactory agreement between the calculated and experimental data is shown by the example of interaction of the CaO–SiO2–Al2O3 system melt, which contains up to 6.0 wt.% MenOm (NiO, CoO, Cu2O), blasted by gas phase of partial pressure РCO = (0,4÷5,0)·102 MPa at Т = 1623 K.В предположении электрохимической природы взаимодействия газа-восстановителя (СО) с оксидным расплавом, содержащим ионы металлов переходной группы, выведено кинетическое уравнение для расчета скорости восстановительного процесса, учитывающее физико-химические свойства контактирующих фаз. На примере взаимодействия оксидного расплава системы СаО–SiO2–Al2O3, содержащего до 6,0 мас.% MenOm (NiO, CoO, Cu2O), обдуваемого газовой фазой с парциальным давлением РСО = (0,4÷5,0)·102 МПа при Т = 1623 К показано удовлетворительное согласие расчетных и экспериментальных данных

    The residual stress distribution of tungsten inert gas welded S235JRC C plates was determined by means of neutron diffraction. This investigation leads to the discovery of dominating longitudinal residual stresses with maxima around View the MathML source600MPa. With these results as reference, the evaluation of residual stress with high spatial resolution GMR giant magneto resistance sensors is discussed. The experiments performed indicate an interdependence of residual stress changes and the normal component of local residual magnetic stray fields.
