Charge Transfer Fluctuations as a QGP Signal
In this study, we analyze the recently proposed charge transfer fluctuations
within a finite pseudo-rapidity space. As the charge transfer fluctuation is a
measure of the local charge correlation length, it is capable of detecting
inhomogeneity in the hot and dense matter created by heavy ion collisions. We
predict that going from peripheral to central collisions, the charge transfer
fluctuations at midrapidity should decrease substantially while the charge
transfer fluctuations at the edges of the observation window should decrease by
a small amount. These are consequences of having a strongly inhomogeneous
matter where the QGP component is concentrated around midrapidity. We also show
how to constrain the values of the charge correlations lengths in both the
hadronic phase and the QGP phase using the charge transfer fluctuations.

Exotic Topological States with Raman-Induced Spin-Orbit Coupling
We propose a simple experimental scheme to realize simultaneously the
one-dimensional spin-orbit coupling and the staggered spin-flip in ultracold
pseudospin- atomic Fermi gases trapped in square optical lattices. In the
absence of interspecies interactions, the system supports gapped Chern
insulators and gapless topological semimetal states. By turning on the -wave
interactions, a rich variety of gapped and gapless inhomogeneous topological
superfluids can emerge. In particular, a gapped topological Fulde-Ferrell
superfluid, in which the chiral edge states at opposite boundaries possess the
same chirality, is predicted.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
Quantum state engineering with flux-biased Josephson phase qubits by Stark-chirped rapid adiabatic passages
In this paper, the scheme of quantum computing based on Stark chirped rapid
adiabatic passage (SCRAP) technique [L. F. Wei et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100,
113601 (2008)] is extensively applied to implement the quantum-state
manipulations in the flux-biased Josephson phase qubits. The broken-parity
symmetries of bound states in flux-biased Josephson junctions are utilized to
conveniently generate the desirable Stark-shifts. Then, assisted by various
transition pulses universal quantum logic gates as well as arbitrary
quantum-state preparations could be implemented. Compared with the usual
PI-pulses operations widely used in the experiments, the adiabatic population
passage proposed here is insensitive the details of the applied pulses and thus
the desirable population transfers could be satisfyingly implemented. The
experimental feasibility of the proposal is also discussed.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure
Collective Flow Distributions and Nuclear Stopping in Heavy-ion Collisions at AGS, SPS and RHIC
We study the production of proton, antiproton and net-proton at \AGS, \SPS
and \RHIC within the framework non-uniform flow model(NUFM) in this paper. It
is found that the system of RHIC has stronger longitudinally non-uniform
feature than AGS and SPS, which means that nuclei at RHIC energy region is much
more transparent. The NUFM model provides a very good description of all proton
rapidity at whole AGS, SPS and RHIC. It is shown that our analysis relates
closely to the study of nuclear stopping and longitudinally non-uniform flow
distribution of experiment. This comparison with AGS and SPS help us to
understand the feature of particle stopping of thermal freeze-out at RHIC
experiment.Comment: 16 pages,7 figure
Single crystal growth and physical properties of SrFe(AsP)
We report a crystal growth and physical properties of
SrFe(AsP). The single crystals for various s were
grown by a self flux method. For , reaches the maximum value of
30\,K and the electrical resistivity () shows -linear dependence.
As increases, decreases and () changes to -behavior,
indicating a standard Fermi liquid. These results suggest that a magnetic
quantum critical point exists around .Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, accepted to Supplemental issue of the Journal of
