Clinical submission of supernumerary head of adducter brevis muscle
Adductor brevis is an important member of the adductor family occupying the medial compartment of the thigh executing the function of adduction and medial rotation. Deviations from normal anatomy are unusual and rarely reported. A survey of anatomical archives revealed occasional mention of additional bellies of adductor brevis muscle. The present study reports a double belly of adductor brevis muscle (AB) found during a cadaveric dissection class for medical students. The left sided AB displayed two bellies disposed in the same plane. This case report attempts to present the clinical applications of supernumerary bellies of this important adductor muscle of the thigh. It is feasible to categorize these muscular variations upon specialized radiological procedures such as CT and MRI scans only if the radiologist possesses satisfactory understanding of variant anatomy of this region. Time to think beyond sickle cell screening and haemoglobin electrophoresis: a case report and review of literature of sickle cell D-Punjab falsely labelled as sickle cell SS from central India
Sickle cell haemoglobin D disease (D-Punjab) is a rare variant of sickle cell disease (SCD) reported from central India. Exact incidence of pulmonary thrombosis in patients with HbSD is unknown. Pulmonary thrombosis is known complication of SCD but rare in case of HbSD pattern. We reported a case of 34-year-old male patient with HbSD (D-Punjab) with acute chest syndrome (ACS). CT pulmonary angiogram revealed near complete thrombosis of right middle lobe segmental and subsegmental branches with pulmonary infarct. Our patient responded to anticoagulant therapy. This case report is a reminder that HPLC should be done in all patients with sickle cell disease along with solubility test and hemoglobin electrophoresis to detect exact incidence of hemoglobin D disease in central India
Statistically Comparable UV-spectrophotometric Method development for the Estimation of Probenecid in tablet Dosage Form with the Application of Hydrotropic Solubilization Phenomenon.
Statistically comparable method has been developed, validated, for estimating probenecid in tablet dosage form with the application of hydrotropic solubilization phenomenon. This research effort utilizes 2M sodium acetate as hydrotropic solubilizing agent which enhances the aqueous solubility of probenecid by 85 folds. The drug stability in hydrotropic solution was found to be more than 48hrs.The probenecid hydrotrope obeys the Beers Lambert law at maximum wavelength of 244.5nm. The drug response was found to be linear in the range of 2 26 g/ml with correlation coefficient of 0.9987.The non-interference of hydrotropic agent and additives in the course of probenecid estimation ensures the specificity of the proposed method.The mean recovery of 99.43% reflects its accuracy, obtained in good terms. The method precision results were found to be within limit expressed in %RSD (NMT 2%). The results of comparison of proposed method with standard method (IP 2010) were found to be in the similar range. The comparison provides evidence of proposed method to be simple, less time consuming, safe and eco-friendly. The validation (as per ICH 2005) of the proposed method accesses its use in the routinely quality control of probenecid in tablet dosage form
Choroidal osteoma with CNVM – Successful treatment with intravitreal Bevacizumab
AbstractTwenty-seven years old healthy woman presented with complaints of sudden painless blurred vision in right eye for 1week. On examination, visual acuity was 20/30 in the right eye and 20/20 in left eye. Fundus examination OS was normal; OD demonstrated a flat, opaque, yellowish parapapillary choroidal lesion with grayish membrane associated with minimal subretinal fluid suggestive of a CNVM in the center. B-scan ultrasonography revealed findings consistent with a choroidal osteoma. Fundus fluorescein angiography of the right eye revealed a relatively well-defined area of hyperfluorescence that increased in size and intensity in the later phases suggestive of active extrafoveal CNVM. Optical coherence tomography confirmed the extrafoveal CNVM with subfoveal fluid. She was treated with intravitreal Bevacizumab OD. At the 2weeks visit, vision OD improved to 20/20. The FFA and OCT revealed a resolved CNVM. Intravitreal Bevacizumab may be an effective alternative in the management of CNVM secondary to choroidal osteoma

K-shell ionization of atoms by electron and positron impact
In the plane-wave Born approximation (PWBA), scaling relations for K-shell generalized oscillator strengths and energy-loss cross sections of atoms are given. The total K-shell ionization cross sections, obtained at high impact energy, are used to obtain the Bethe collisional parameter cK for atoms ranging from carbon to gold. These values of cK are, in general, significantly different from those obtained previously with the help of Fano plots at relatively low impact energies. Furthermore, using Hippler’s modification of the PWBA [Phys. Lett. A 144, 81 (1990)], total K-shell ionization cross sections of various atoms by electron and positron impact are calculated over a wide energy range. The electron-impact ionization cross sections for light atoms are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data
An Enhanced Table Driven Source Routing Protocol for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
Analysis of MANETs led to the research on network layer. Different routing protocols were designed for numerous objectives and purposes. The way data packets are handled with in a multi-hop wireless network refers to Opportunistic data forwarding. During present research, we propose enhanced table-driven source routing protocol. This protocol maintains additional topology information which is different from Distance Vector (DV) routing protocol. The proposed approach will reduce overhead compared to the ancient Distance Vector based protocols. Base on the test results performed using Computer Simulator (Network Simulator 2) observed that the overhead in the proposed solution is just a fraction of the overhead of the standard proactive protocols. Performance of the current solution is better for transportation of higher information compared to existing proactive routing protocols
