Synthesis and characterization of manganese(II), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes with macrocyclic amidophenol
487-489Metal(II) complexes of the type ML.nB (where M = Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); LH2 = 2,2' -dihydroxyoxanilide; B = water or pyridine; n = 0 or 2) have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, magnetic moment, thermogravimetry and IR and electronic spectra. Invariably in all these complexes the ligand is found to be tetradentate coordinating through phenolic oxygens and amido nitrogens. CuL is square planar and monomeric while other anhydrous complexes are polymeric with high spin octahedral configuration
