Wave packet dynamics of entangled two-mode states
We consider a model Hamiltonian describing the interaction of a single-mode
radiation field with the atoms of a nonlinear medium, and study the dynamics of
entanglement for specific non-entangled initial states of interest: namely,
those in which the field mode is initially in a Fock state, a coherent state,
or a photon-added coherent state. The counterparts of near-revivals and
fractional revivals are shown to be clearly identifiable in the entropy of
entanglement. The ``overlap fidelity'' of the system is another such indicator,
and its behaviour corroborates that of the entropy of entanglement in the
vicinity of near-revivals. The expectation values and higher moments of
suitable quadrature variables are also examined, with reference to possible
squeezing and higher-order squeezing.Comment: 18 pages, 7 figure
Wave packet dynamics of the matter wave field of a Bose-Einstein condensate
We show in the framework of a tractable model that revivals and fractional
revivals of wave packets afford clear signatures of the extent of departure
from coherence and from Poisson statistics of the matter wave field in a
Bose-Einstein condensate, or of a suitably chosen initial state of the
radiation field propagating in a Kerr-like medium.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, RevTeX
Non-classical properties of quantum wave packets propagating in a Kerr-like medium
We investigate non-classical effects such as fractional revivals, squeezing
and higher-order squeezing of photon-added coherent states propagating through
a Kerr-like medium. The Wigner functions corresponding to these states at the
instants of fractional revivals are obtained, and the extent of
non-classicality quantified.Comment: 8 pages, 10 figure
Quality Assessment of Hatchery reared Post Larvae of Tiger Shrimp Penaeus monodon (Fabricius)
The induced maturation and breeding of Penaeus monodon in captivity was first developed in India in seventies (Alikunhi et al 1977; Alikunhi and Hameed Ali 1977; Muthu and Laxminarayana 1977). With the later standardisation of hatchery systems with designs, feeding schedules etc., amenable for convenient operation, shrimp hatcheries started proliferating not only along the Indian coastline but also along the coastline of the countries of the sub-continent
Karyomorphology of Lates calcarifer.
Genetic research, particularly its applied aspects related to
aquaculture organisms, is lagging far behind that of crop plants and farm animals. Todate, most effort in fish culture has been directed towards improved diets, health management and water quality management which deal with the environment in which the fish live . Basic genetic and breeding concepts deal with the animals itself and research in this area improve the biological potential of the fish
Environmental Energetics aspects of anomalous Cyclogenesis over Indian Ocean during 2013
An attempt has been made to understand the dynamics behind anomalous cyclogenesis over Indian Ocean during 2013 cyclone seasons, from an atmospheric energetics point of view. Salient features of the results of this study are:Maximum intensification of all the intense cyclonic vortices was associated with an enhancement in both conversion from eddy available potential energy to eddy kinetic energy (AE to KE ) and zonal kinetic energy to eddy kinetic energy (KZ to KE).During intensification of the storms both AE and AZ have shown to be dissipated, suggesting the intensification of storms at the cost of AE and AZ . For all of these systems baroclinic eddy kinetic energy conversions [conversion from AE to KE ] dominates over barotropic eddy kinetic energy conversions [conversion from KZ to KE]. Anomalous cyclogenesis in 2013, at least partly may be attributed to a positive anomaly in Moist Static Energy (MSE) of the environment along with positive anomaly in baroclinic and barotropic eddy kinetic energy conversion during cyclone seasons over the region under study.Release of convective instability in the atmosphere may also be attributed, at least partly, for anomalous cyclogenesis in 2013
Development of Zein-Pectin Nanoparticle as Drug carrier
Recent years have witnessed tremendous growth of nanotechnology based drug delivery system which reduces drug toxicity and side effects and increases the therapeutic index of the drug. Aim of the study is to develop a biodegradable, non-toxic nanoparticle, solely from natural polymers. Zein – pectin nanoparticle comprising of a hydrophobic zein core and a hydrophilic pectin shell was developed by ultrasonication method. SEM images confirm the nanosize of the nanoparticle. UV- Visible and FT-IR spectroscopic results confirm the incorporation of zein, pectin and the encapsulation of the model drug quercetin in the nanoparticle. Zein is a prolamine class of protein found in wheat, maize etc and pectin is a polymer of galacturonic acid units found in plant cell wal
