Zastosowanie analizy bioimpedancji elektrycznej w badaniach klinicznych i populacyjnych
The study of body composition is a method to determine the content of fat mass, lean mass, muscular and cellular and extracellular water in humans. It plays an important role in the assessment of body composition in states such as improper nutrition: obesity, starvation, cachexia, and in many diseases in which there are invalid content ranges for the individual components of the body, especially when accompanied by changes in the content of muscle tissue and fat and body water. In this paper the theoretical assumptions, techniques, and selected examples of clinical and population trails using the analysis electrical bioimpedance are presented. The authors present the possibility of taking electrical bioimpedance measurements in everyday clinical practice, both by doctors and physiotherapists.Badanie składu ciała jest metodą umożliwiającą oszacowanie zawartości masy tkanki tłuszczowej, beztłuszczowej, mięśniowej oraz wody
komórkowej i pozakomórkowej u człowieka.
w organizmie. W pracy przedstawiono założenia teoretyczne, techniki oraz wybrane przykłady badań klinicznych i populacyjnych
z zastosowaniem metody analizy bioimpedancji elektrycznej. Autorzy przedstawiają możliwości wykonywania pomiarów bioimpedancji
elektrycznej w codziennej praktyce klinicznej, zarówno przez lekarzy, jak i fizjoterapeutów
Analysis of the usefulness of assessing the level of sense of coherence in somatic and mental diseases
Celem pracy było przedstawienie salutogenetycznego
modelu zdrowia (SOC) wg Arona Antonovsky’ego i jego
wyznacznika – poczucia koherencji wraz z jego składowymi
oraz zastosowanie kwestionariusza orientacji życiowej SOC-
29 w badaniach klinicznych i populacyjnych.
zdrowotna chorych w celu podwyższenia poziomu poczucia
koherencji stanowi ważny element terapii. Natomiast badanie
poziomu SOC u osób aktywnych zawodowo może pomóc
w przewidywaniu zachowań antyzdrowotnych i tendencji
do wypalenia zawodowego. The aim of the work was to present the Aaron Antonovsky’s
salutogenic health model and its determinant – the sense
of coherence – together with its components as well as the
application of the life orientation questionnaire SOC-29 in
clinical trial and field studies.
The work presents the results and observations of the authors
studying the level of the sense of coherence in various groups
of patients and among people with medical education.
On the basis of numerous researches on the meaning of
the sense of coherence and ways of coping with stress a
conclusion has been drawn that educating patients in order
to raise the level of the sense of coherence is a significant
element of the therapy.
On the other hand, the study of the SOC level among working
population can help predict unhealthy behaviours and
tendency toward professional burnout
The sense of coherence and health behavior of men with alcohol addiction
Introduction: Alcohol dependence is one of the world’s major health challenges. The salutogenic concept of health developed by Antonovsky focuses on the search for resources and factors supporting health. Its basic concept of the sense of coherence (SOC) focuses on strengthening the global orientation of the patient, and creating permanent internal resources that translate into the improvement of pro-health behavior, including the fight against alcoholism. Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the correlation between individual factors and the SOC as well as the influence of the SOC concept on pro-health behavior of people addicted to alcohol. Materials and methods: The study group consisted of 110 men undergoing treatment in an addiction treatment ward. To check the level of the SOC, two standardized questionnaires, Antonovsky’s “SOC-29 Life Orientation Questionnaire” and Juczyński’s “Health Behaviour Inventory”, were used. The correlation coefficient between the sociodemographic variables was checked using the Pearson’s r test. Results: A positive correlation was found with the intensity of pro-health behaviors for three sociodemographic variables. In people aged 43–65 (r = 0.299; p = 0.030), people with primary/vocational education (r = 0.276; p = 0.015), and respondents living in rural areas (r = 0.303; p = 0.028) a greater SOC was associated with pro-health behaviors. Conclusions: Individuals addicted to alcohol are characterized by a low SOC and a low level of pro-health behaviors. Strengthening the internal level of the SOC can constitute an element of addiction therapy when introducing health education to prepare the patient for independent life in sobriety
