    Pendidikan dan Penelitian Sains dalam Mengembangkan Keterampilan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi untuk Pembangunan Karakter

    Proses membangun karakter berlangsung terus menerus dan seyogianya dilakukan melalui pendidikan sejalan dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai. Proses tersebut memerlukan upaya serius untuk merealisasikannya secara terencana. Studi tentang pembangunan karakter dapat ditinjau dari berbagai aspek, di antaranya melalui pembelajaran bidang studi tertentu, melalui pengembangan kemampuan berpikir; mengintegrasikan domain kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor; memfokuskan pada ipteks dan imtaq, dan pengembangkan sikap ilmiah. Pembangunan karakter melalui pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi merupakan salah satu alternatif dalam pendidikan sains. Kecerdasan majemuk juga meru-pakan salah satu wahana yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang akhir-akhir ini banyak dibicarakan. Kebiasaan berpikir (habits of mind) sebagai perilaku cerdas jauh lebih penting dibandingkan dengan membekalkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada peserta didik melalui pendidikan sains. Habits of mind dalam arti perilaku cerdas dapat dilatihkan dan diukur pencapaiannya. Semua itu dimungkinkan apabila pendidikan sains menekankan pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri dan didukung dengan penerapan asesmen otentik dan asesmen formatif. Penelitian sains yang menekankan asesmen formatif menjadi bidang yang menarik untuk diteliti, karena berbeda dengan asesmen sumatif yang lebih menekankan hasil belajar (assessment of learning), asesmen formatif justru mendorong peserta didik untuk belajar (assessment for learning)

    System of a good teaching and effective delivery of science is an absolutely right on target according to the needs of learners. If the increased cognitive, metacognitive then someone will increase as well.However, often a teacher ignores the student metacognition, which resulted in the learning process is not in accordance with what is expected. Based on preliminary research conducted in the course of chemical physics for chemistry pre-service in Cenderawasih University shows, the results of the interview were largely concluded reception chemistry student teachers who are not on track affect motivation to learn. Results of the questionnaire / inventory metacognition distributed to 30 pre-service showed, 80% chemistry pre-service were in the lowest scale score 1-2 range 20% - 40.6% , means have metacognition as pre-service are unable to learn as they should learn . And writing test results showed that 70% of students can not complete the test perfectly and surpass the test of time provided. This shows the inability of the students in the process of thinking in understanding the concept.Results of this study is the fact that occur in the field, and a determination of the issues raised by researchers in advanced research to develop a learning program based chemical physics metacognition integrated approach to improve understanding of the concept.

    Studi tentang implementasi model pembelajaran Zoologi Invertebrata berbasis masalah (MPZIBM) berfokus pada upaya peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa calon guru biologi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh MPZIBM terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Metoda yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan model pembelajaran yang dapat membekali calon guru Biologi untuk bisa merancang pembelajaran Biologi berbasis keterampilan berpikir kreatif, dan evaluasi pembelajaran Biologi yang menekankan pada pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. MPZIBM unggul dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir pada kelompok/unit materi pelajaran yang memiliki struktur morfologi/anatomi yang berkembang secara jelas. MPZIBM dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dengan kategori sedang (%g= 43 %)

    The Perceptions of Pre-Service Science Teachers and Science Teachers About Climate Change

    The global climate phenomenon in the context of climate change is the impact of both the dynamic complex climate system and human behaviors that affect environmental sustainability. Human is an important component that should be considered in science teaching that is believed to improve human attitudes towards the environmental sustainability. The research aims to investigate the perceptions of pre-service science teachers and science teachers in South Sumatra who teach climate change and global warming. The data were collected from 17 science teachers and 53 pre-service science teachers from April to August 2016. The instruments were 17 modified questions which were developed from Pruneau\u27s framework. There are three linear perceptions regarding climate change. First, greenhouse effect causes global warming and global warming causes climate change. Second, ozone leakage causes global warming and global warming causes acid rain. Third, greenhouse effect causes ozone leakage and ozone leakage causes global warming; then it causes climate change and other climatic phenomena. Both pre-service science teachers and science teachers argue that climate change is caused by global warming. Actually, climate change is not only global warming but also global cooling. Those phenomena occur because of interactions among climate system components. They do not believe that education is able to change human attitudes in saving environmental sustainability from global climate change disasters.     Komparasi Hasil Analisis Butir Soal Literasi Sains Budaya Bali Menggunakan Program Berbeda

    A comparative study to contrast the results of test items analysis on scientific literacy in the context of Balinese Culture was carried out by using Anates program 4.0 version and Iteman program 3.00 version. A number of students of grade IX of Public Junior High Schools in Bali province was involved as research subjects (n =1648). Using both Anates and Iteman, the study resulted in different results on degree of difficulty, discrimination index, item validity, and instrument reliability, but still in the same category range, except the index of discrimination of two test items. Result difference that is showed by both programe cause of data percentace analysed is different (Anates: 54%; Iteman: 100%). In Anates analysis program the quality of the distractor was detected from the number of distractor. Meanwhile in Iteman analysis program, it was detected from discrimination index for each distractor. Discrimination index can clearly show the quality of the distractors, as it can distinguish the higher and lower groups. A good distractor from the lower group is one with negative discrimination index. The result showed that 35 items that had been developed are good. The instrument reliability of test is high

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan/mendeskripsikan kemampuan Subjek Spesifik Pedagogi mahasiswa calon guru biologi yang mengikuti program Pendidikan Profesional Guru (PPG) angkatan 2012-2013 melalui pendekatan konsekutif. Hasil sementara menunjukkan bahwa Kemampuan Subject Specific Pedagogy mahasiswa calon guru biologi yang berlatar belakang Biologi murni program Basic Science masih minim, dapat dilihat dari hasil CoRes dan PaP-eRs buatan mereka sebelum mengikuti workshop. Setelah workshop semester I diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup baik.  This study aimed to describe / describes the ability of prospective students Subject Specific Pedagogy biology teachers who follow the Professional Teacher Education Program (PTEP) 2012-2013 armed consecutive approach. Preliminary results indicate that the ability of prospective students Subject Specific Pedagogy biology teacher who belongs to the pure Biology Basic Science program is minimal, it can be seen from the cores and pap-ers made ​​them before the workshop.     Kemampuan Profesional Guru Biologi dalam Memahami dan Merancang Model Pembelajaran Konservasi Biodiversitas di SMA

    : The purpose of this study was to gain the knowledge about biology teachers' concept mastery on biodiversity conservation as well as how to teach it. This study used descriptive methods with the questionnaires to 31 respondents of SMA/MA in Kota/KabSerang. The research result showed that 52% respondents had mastered the biodiversity concept. However, only 3% of respondents had fully mastered biodiversity conservation. In addition, for the teaching methods 58% respondents used observation, 45% respondents used discussion, 23% respondents used lecturing and 16% respondents used an interactive method. Moreover, for the difficulty level, 87% of respondents argued that it was easy to master the biodiversity conservation materials and 81% said that it was easier to teach the concept than other concepts. Only 6% of the teachers had gained the knowledge about biodiversity conservation when they had the training. Thus, the training is urgently needed to train the teachers in order to guarantee the Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

    Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas argumentasi pada diskusi isu sosiosaintifik “Polemik E. sakazakii†melalui weblog. Metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Hasil analisis terhadap kualitas argumentasi menunjukkan secara sosial partisipan mampu mencapai argumentasi level lima, adapun secara individual skor rata-rata mencapai 3. Pengembangan kerangka ‘scaffolding’ diperlukan untuk mempertahankan kualitas argumentasi secara sosial dan meningkatkan kualitas argumentasi secara individual.  This study aims to know the quality of argumentation in sosiosaintific issues discussion "E. sakazakii Polemic" through a weblog. The research method was descriptive. The result showed the quality of argument socially were able to achieve level five, but individually were able to achieve an average score of 3. Development framework ‘scaffolding’ required to maintain the quality of argumentation is socially and to improve the quality of arguments individually
