    Pengaruh Koneksi Politik dan Kualitas Audit terhadap Praktik Penhindaran Pajak di Lembaga Perbankan yang Terdaftar di Pasar Modal Indonesia Periode 2012-2014

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh koneksi politik dan kualitas audit terhadap praktik penghindaran pajak pada Perusahaan perbankan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui purposive sampling, sehingga total sampel adalah 28 Perusahaan perbankan dari tahun 2012-2014 dan setelah dikurangi dengan data outlier sehingga sampel akhir sebanyak 69 observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan SPSS versi 17. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koneksi politik berpengaruh negatif terhadap praktik penghindaran pajak, sedangkan kualitas audit tidak berpengaruh terhadap praktik penghindaran pajak. Kata Kunci : Koneksi Politik, Kualitas Audit, Praktik Penghindaran Pajak. This study aims to examine the influence of political connections and audit quality on tax avoidance practices at banking companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. Data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression using SPSS version 17. Results showed that political connections negatively affect the practice of tax avoidance, while the audit quality did not influence the practice of tax avoidance

    Artemisinin, an anti-malarial medicineisolated from the annual wormwood Artemisia annua,has a marked activity against chloroquine-resistant andchloroquine-sensitive strains of Plasmodium falciparum.This compound is useful for treatment of cerebral malaria.An in vitro propagation system for A. annua has been developed.Shoots were induced by culturing seeds of A.annua on a MS medium containing BAP (0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5mg/l). Shoots were also formed on each seedling culturedon the same medium. Root formations were obtained fromshoots that were subcultured on a MS medium containingIBA (0, 1.0, 1.5, 2 mg/l). The results showed that MS mediumsupplemented with BAP 0.3 mg/l was the best medium forinduction and multiplication of the shoots, while the MSmedium supplemented with IBA (1 mg/l) was good for rootformations

    Resolution of the Compact Radio Continuum Sources in Arp220

    We present 2 cm and 3.6 cm wavelength very long baseline interferometry images of the compact radio continuum sources in the nearby ultra-luminous infrared galaxy Arp220. Based on their radio spectra and variability properties, we confirm these sources to be a mixture of supernovae (SNe) and supernova remnants (SNRs). Of the 17 detected sources we resolve 7 at both wavelengths. The SNe generally only have upper size limits. In contrast all the SNRs are resolved with diameters {\geq} 0.27 pc. This size limit is consistent with them having just entered their Sedov phase while embedded in an interstellar medium (ISM) of density 10^4 cm^{-3} . These objects lie on the diameter-luminosity correlation for SNRs (and so also on the diameter-surface brightness relation) and extend these correlations to very small sources. The data are consistent with the relation L {\propto} D^{-9/4}. Revised equipartition arguments adjusted to a magnetic field to relativistic particle energy density ratio of 1% combined with a reasonable synchrotron-emitting volume filling factor of 10% give estimated magnetic field strengths in the SNR shells of ~ 15-50 mG. The SNR shell magnetic fields are unlikely to come from compression of ambient ISM fields and must instead be internally generated. We set an upper limit of 7 mG for the ISM magnetic field. The estimated energy in relativistic particles, 2%-20% of the explosion kinetic energy, is consistent with estimates from models that fit the IR-radio correlation in compact starburst galaxies.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figure

    New development of a Radiation-Hard Polycrystalline CdTe Detector for LHC Luminosity Monitoring

    Detectors presently considered for monitoring and control of the LHC luminosity will sample the hadronic/electromagnetic showers produced by neutrons and photons in copper absorbers designed to protect the superconducting magnets from quenching. At this location the detectors will have to withstand extreme radiation levels and their long term operation will have to be assured without requiring human intervention. For this application we have successfully tested thick polycrystalline-CdTe detectors. The paper summarizes the results obtained on rise-times, sensitivity and resistance to neutron irradiation up to a dose of 10 ^15/cm 2

    Seleksi Galur Mutan Padi Fatmawati Tahan Terhadap Penyakit Blas Dan Evaluasi Karakter Agronomi Di Rumah Kaca Dan Di Lahan Sawah

    Fatmawati, a rice variety released in 2003, is a new plant type (NPT) of rice that had different characteristic from existing high yielding rice varieties (HYV). The yield potential of this rice variety is 7.5 t/ha. Therefore its cultivated is expected to increase national rice production. However, the dissemination of this variety was hampered in several regions due to its susceptibility to blast disease and high percentage of empty grain caused by partially exserted and enclosed panicle. This research was conducted to evaluate 104 dihaploid mutant lines of Fatmawati for resistance to blast disease and good agronomic characters, especially for panicle exsertion rate. The first research was conducted in the endemic area of blast disease at Cikembar-Sukabumi, West Java. The blast disease resistance lines were then subsequently evaluated for their agronomic characters by planting in the green house and in the field. The results indicated that 40 dihaploid mutant lines were characterized as resistant and moderately resistant to blast (score 3–5). Agronomic characters evaluation in the green house and in the field resulted in 11 dihaploid mutant lines with well exerted panicle (0% of coverage of panicle by flagleaf sheath) and high grains per panicle (229–283 grains/panicle).     Comment on "water-Soluble Fluorescent Probe with Dual Mitochondria/Lysosome Targetability for Selective Superoxide Detection in Live Cells and in Zebrafish Embryos"

    Recently, a new water-soluble, fluorescein-based probe for the detection of superoxide radical anion in aqueous media was developed by Lu et al. (ACS Sens. 2018, 3, 59-64). The probe was proven to be selective for superoxide and was used successfully also in cells and zebrafish embryos. To characterize the response of the probe to superoxide, Lu et al. used KO2 dissolved in deionized water as a surrogate. In testing this probe in different applications, we repeated some of these experiments and came to realize that the fluorescence signal observed by the Authors in their experiments with KO2 was incorrectly attributed to the reaction of the probe with superoxide and is due instead to its reactions with HO- and HO2-. We show that indeed under the conditions used in these assays KO2 undergoes very fast reaction with water to form HO- and HO2-. On the other hand, by using a proper surrogate, namely, KO2 dissolved in DMSO, and spin trapping experiments, we confirmed the ability of the probe to detect superoxide

    Imaging Fabry-Perot Spectroscopy of NGC 5775: Kinematics of the Diffuse Ionized Gas Halo

    We present imaging Fabry-Perot observations of Halpha emission in the nearly edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 5775. We have derived a rotation curve and a radial density profile along the major axis by examining position-velocity (PV) diagrams from the Fabry-Perot data cube as well as a CO 2-1 data cube from the literature. PV diagrams constructed parallel to the major axis are used to examine changes in azimuthal velocity as a function of height above the midplane. The results of this analysis reveal the presence of a vertical gradient in azimuthal velocity. The magnitude of this gradient is approximately 1 km/s/arcsec, or about 8 km/s/kpc, though a higher value of the gradient may be appropriate in localized regions of the halo. The evidence for an azimuthal velocity gradient is much stronger for the approaching half of the galaxy, although earlier slit spectra are consistent with a gradient on both sides. There is evidence for an outward radial redistribution of gas in the halo. The form of the rotation curve may also change with height, but this is not certain. We compare these results with those of an entirely ballistic model of a disk-halo flow. The model predicts a vertical gradient in azimuthal velocity which is shallower than the observed gradient, indicating that an additional mechanism is required to further slow the rotation speeds in the halo.Comment: 18 pages, 18 figures.
