    This article describes about Critical Reading Strategy in teaching English, especially in reading comprehension. Critical Reading is a strategy that provides students with instructional support before, during, and after reading process. The students with critical reading skills have the ability to evaluate the credibility of a piece of writing. All writers have a purpose when they write, and usually a writer will choose or emphasize facts and details which support his or her purpose, and ignore facts which don\u27t. As readers make sense of what they read, they use various relationships of ideas to aid recognition and fluency. Critical reading includes the ability to evaluate ideas and synthesize what one reads. They are the ability to see relationships of ideas and use them as an aid in reading

    This research aims at describing remedial learning programs at SMAN 1 Donri-Donri based on antecedents, transactions, and output components. This research is the kind of evaluation research which employs coutenance stake model, consists of evaluation of antecendents, transactions, and output. The subjects of this research were Economic teacher who conducted the remedial learning program and the students who followed remedial learning program, headmaster, and vice of headmaster at SMAN 1 Donri-Donri in Soppeng district. Data was collected by employing interview and documentation. Data was analysed qualitatively by conducting data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of the research reveals that antecedents component of remedial learning programs on Economic learning at SMAN 1 Donri-Donri is not well planned. Based on the transaction component, the remedial learning programs on Economic learning at SMAN 1 Donri-Donri is conductedwell done. Based on the output component, the remedial learning programs on Economic learning at SMAN 1 Donri-Donri has obtained good result

    Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Mata Pelajaran IPS Sdn melalui Penggunaan Media Gambar Siswa Kelas IV Sdn 001 Pematang Kecamatan Batang Peranap

    Action research has been conducted to determine the increase in social studieslearning outcomes with the use of media images in grade IV SDN 001 Pematang Batang PeranapDistrict of the Academic Year 2013/2014. This study was conducted in January 2013. The subjectswere students of class IV with the number of students of 30 people consisting of 12 male studentsand 18 female students. The parameters measured were the result of learning that consists ofabsorption, completeness student learning, student activities and teacher activity seen from thelearning outcomes of each cycle. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed thatincreased student learning outcomes, can be seen from the absorption students first cycle withan average of 76.83 daily tests (both categories) increased cycled II with an average of 81.16daily tests (both categories). Mastery learning students who complete the first cycle of individual27 people (90.00%) with excellent category increased in the second cycle is the complete individual28 people (93.33%) with excellent category. Student learning activity also increased, judgingfrom the average percentage of student activity.In the first cycle average of 73.34% of student activity (enough category) increased in the secondcycle the average activity of the students became 85.83% (excellent category) .Aktivitas teacherin the learning process has been good and has increased an average of percentage of teachers inthe first cycle activities 84.29% (both categories) increased in the second cycle the averageactivity of the teacher to 100.00% (excellent category). From these results it can be concludedthat the use of media images can improve learning outcomes fourth grade social studies studentsof SDN 001 Pematang Peranap Indragiri Hulu District of the Academic Year 2013/2014

    Appropriate counseling and education can be adopted to achieve a change in attitude, knowledge and perception. Still there is a wrong perception of a given intervention. Peer support through a process of social learning, the process of growing understanding of how to process information from experience, observational include: attention (attention), given (retention), reproduction of motion (reproduction), motivation (motivation), and communication. The purpose of this study was to analyze resident self-efficacy to regardless of drug addiction through family support. This study employed qualitative approach with case study design. Subjects in this study were residents, ex drugs user, peer support, and resident family. The results showed that peer support from fellow residents and the support of the major on duty (MOD) very meaningful and helpful for resident in the healing process

    Pengaruh Konsentrasi Asam Sitrat Terhadap Penurunan Bilangan Asam Dan Kepekatan Warna Minyak Jelantah Melalui Proses Adsorpsi

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh konsentrasi (persen berat atau %w/w) asam sitrat yang dimanfaatkan sebagai adsorben terhadap penurunan bilangan asam dan kepekatan warna pada minyak goreng bekas. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan metode adsorbsi dengan tahapan tahapan proses yaitu proses despicing, netralisasi dan bleaching, dengan variasi konsentrasi asam sitrat 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, 3% (w/w) serta temperatur pemanasan 70oC dan kecepatan pengadukan 500rpm selama 60 menit. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan penambahan asam sitrat yang paling baik adalah 2% (w/w). Persamaan polinomial hubungan antara konsentrasi asam sitrat (x) dan bilangan asam (y) adalah y = 0.1834x2 – 0.768x + 1.3591 dengan nilai R2 = 0.9367. Pada kondisi terbaik besarnya bilangan asam adalah 0.5319 dan nilai kepekatan warna adalah 37/20

    Cognitive Inquiry: is English Really Difficult for Science Students?

    Science students are known miserable in coping very well with language, especially English. This study searched for the truth of this proposition by evaluating the formative test items for senior high-school level used in a science-based school in Aceh, Indonesia. The sources of this study were 150 questions and 35 students\u27 answers on the pertaining tests for three different grades. The objective of this study was to find out the item facility and distractors\u27 efficiency of each test item used for science students in their formative test. Methodology deployed was qualitative approach using content analysis in the scope of finding the item facility and distractors\u27 efficiency for the test items. The result depicted that 84% of the items are in the ‘easy\u27 index, and 11% in ‘moderate\u27 index, and 4% ‘difficult\u27 index. Then, the data show that only 17% of the distractors\u27 are efficient. The conclusion is that the formative test items are, indeed, easy for science students but with one condition: most of the distractors do not work properly for their cognitive level

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji hubungan antara budaya organisasi dengan kinerja karyawan di PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Cabang Surabaya Gempol, yang biasa dikenal dengan JM Surgem. Perusahaan tersebut merupakan sebuah Perusahaan BUMN pengembang dan operator jalan tol di Surabaya-Gempol. Untuk mengetahui tingkat hubungan antara keduanya, peneliti melakukan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan cara membagikan kuesioner kepada karyawan JM Surgem, dengan menggunakan teknik sampling acak sederhana. Jumlah sampel responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 85 orang. Kemudian, data tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan tabel frekuensi, tabulasi silang, uji korelasi, dan uji T untuk menguji hipotesis. Teori utama yang digunakan adalah teori komunikasi organisasi, budaya organisasi, dan kinerja karyawan. Hasil akhir penelitian ini secara keseluruhan adalah ada hubungan kuat positif antara budaya organisasi dan kinerja karyawan di JM Surgem, di mana budaya organisasi memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kinerja karyawan. Selain itu, tingkatan tertinggi budaya organisasi dan kinerja karyawan masing-masing adalah people orientation dan personal qualities

    ASEAN Economic Community bertujuan untuk mencapai Competitive Economic Region di kawasan ASEAN dengan mengacu pada ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint yang memuat empat pilar utama. Pilar Kedua menginginkan ASEAN sebagi kawasan ekonomi yang memiliki daya saing tinggi dan Pilar Ketiga menginginkan ASEAN sebagai kawasan dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang merata melalui antara lain pengembangan Small and Medium Enterprises atau Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM). Permasalahannya adalah apakah kebijakan hukum yang dibuat pemerintah Indonesia sebagai angota ASEAN mampu untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk UKM unggulan? Tulisan ini menggunakan data sekunder berupa bahan hukum dengan pendekatan ekonomi.
