Curso general en la facultad de Negocios, de carácter teórico-práctico, que busca desarrollar la competencia general de razonamiento cuantitativo en el Nivel 2. El curso se fundamenta en la Teoría Matemática de la Administración, otorgando a los estudiantes herramientas de gestión, que en el ejercicio de su vida profesional le permitirán tomar de decisiones sustentadas en un análisis racional de la información, en cualquier nivel de decisión (operativo, táctico, estratégico). Se han seleccionado para desarrollar en este curso herramientas de: programación lineal, gestión de proyectos, modelos de líneas de espera y análisis de decisiones en situaciones de riesgo

Determining Symptomatic Factors of Nomophobia in Peruvian Students from the National University of Engineering

The use of cell phones has increased worldwide in the past few decades, particularly in children and adolescents. Using these electronic devices provides personal benefits. Communicating through cell phones was a very important factor in the socioeconomic progress of developed countries. However, it is beyond doubt that its indiscriminate use can bring up certain psychiatric disorders or cause some disorder in a person, within the phobic group of anxiety disorders called nomophobia; basically associated with anxiety, nervousness, discomfort, and distress when contact with the smartphone is lost, mainly in the youngest users. This research proposal aims to identify symptoms that have not yet been detected by unceasing cell phone use, considering that in Peru there are few studies of human health engineering and the physical mental health. For that reason, we sought to identify the symptomatic factors of nomophobia presented by students at the National University of Engineering and its interference with their academic life. To accomplish this study, we designed a questionnaire according to our reality with the use of focus groups techniques when the test was taken in class. Three symptomatic factors of nomophobia were identified: feelings of anxiety, compulsive smartphone use, and feelings of anxiety and panic. The study included a representative sample of 461 students in different years of study engineering (21% women, 79% men, over 17 years of age). Finally, given the widespread adoption of smartphones and their integration into educational environments, the results of this study can help educators understand students’ inclination to use their smartphones at all times

An Ontological Proposal for the Assistance of People with Disabilities

Currently, there is at least 15% of world population that presents some type of disability, and that also has accessibility troubles with their integration into society. To the accessibility barriers that this population deal with, added to this is that caused by technological barriers, which arise as a consequence of the development of technology itself. However, the combination of different technologies provided by the Semantic Web and storage would improve the use of these tools, and help in this issue. It is expected that the systems built with the tools of the Semantic Web will be more personalized and flexible, allowing to help the population with disabilities to carry out some type of activity using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Our work contributes to analyzing different ontological frameworks related to people with disabilities carried out in recent years, identifying the accessibility barrier that people present. Finally, all the studies carried out can be summarized in a proposal for the design of a conceptual architecture that contains a meta-ontology in the domain of people with physical and visual disabilities with these elements

Factors Influencing the Formation of Salicylic Acid by Bipolar Membranes Electrodialysis

Salicylic acid is an intermediate product in the synthesis of dyes, medications and aspirin. An electrodialysis module has been constructed with commercial cationic, anionic and bipolar membranes for the conversion of sodium salicylate into salicylic acid. The effect of operating conditions such as applied electric potential, salt concentration, initial acid concentration and volumetric flow on bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED) yields were investigated using Taguchi analysis. The results obtained in 210 min of work show an average concentration of salicylic acid of 0.0185 M, an average electric current efficiency of 85.3%, and a specific energy consumption of 2.24 kWh/kg of salicylic acid. It was concluded that the proposed bipolar membrane electrodialysis process is an efficient alternative to produce salicylic acid (SAH) from sodium salicylate (SANa) in an environmentally friendly manner.
