Strangeness enhancement at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/c

Ks0K^{0}_{s}, Λ\Lambda, Ξ\Xi, Ω\Omega and negative particle yields and transverse mass spectra have been measured at central rapidity in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions at 158 AA GeV/cc. The yields in Pb-Pb interactions % are presented as a function of the collision centrality and compared with those obtained from p-Pb collisions. Strangeness enhancement in Pb-Pb relative to p-Pb collisions increases with the strangeness content of the particle. Going from p-Pb to Pb-Pb, the strange particle yields increase faster than linearly with the number of participants NpartN_{part} up to Npart100N_{part} \approx 100, thereafter the increase becomes %linear with NpartN_{part}. Yields are studied as a function of the number of nucleons participating in the collision NpartN_{part}, which is estimated with the Glauber model. From p-Pb to Pb-Pb collisions the particle yields per participant increase substantially. The enhancement is more pronounced for multistrange particles, and exceeds an order of magnitude for the Ω\Omega. For a number of participants, NpartN_{part}, greater than 100100, however, all yields per participant appear to be constant

Pregnant women are a very important group that must be considered due to their medical condition and their potential for influencing and improving the dental health and behaviour of their children. They represent a challenge for Public Health, because they are a target of myths about theirs health and their children\'s health, often no scientifically supported. This research intends to study the Social Representation of pregnant women about their absence at dentist visit during pregnancy and the pregnant\'s own perception about the relationship between oral disease and pregnancy, by applying qualitative discourse analysis techniques. A sample of 23 pregnant women from 2nd. to 9th month, aged from 14 to 40 years, attending for their antenatal visit at a public health center in Santo André - S.P. was enterviewed. All of them related some kind of oral disease and all centers visited were offering both antenatal and oral assistance. The analisys of the statements indicates 6 main types of discourse, reflecting the opinion of 6 \"collective subjects\" about why women don\'t go to the dentist during pregnancy: l)they think that pregnant cannot ask for oral assistance because it could damage baby\'s health; 2) they don\'t get schedule in the public health centers because those centers don\'t have available time; 3) they cant pay visits dentist offices; 4) they don\'t think that it is necessary to go to the dentist because they don\'t feel problems in their mouth; 5) they think that their oral disease could save itself after delivery; 6) they don\'t have time to go to the dentist. About the-relationship between oral diseases and pregnancy, they indicate 3 types of discourses about the issue: 1) the pregnancy doesn\'t influence the oral diseases; 2) the pregnancy can influence the oral diseases; 3) it depends, pregnancy could influence oral disease or not. The reasons indicated by women about oral assistance during pregnancy and the relation between oral disease and pregnancy, reinforce the concept about poor oral assistance offered for this group by public health centers and the lack of information of people about oral health
